The pagans believed in a miserable conscious life in the underworld. The Old Testament Jews of Solomon's era believed the dead knew nothing. The message God incarnate, dead, resurrected, and ascendant was veiled, hidden from the Old Testament Jew. That was the Hebrew/Jewish mindset.

Maybe of Solomon's era but not hidden from THE OLD TESTAMENT JEW

Acts 23:4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?

Acts 23:5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

Acts 23:6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

Acts 23:7 And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.

Acts 23:8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

Acts 26:1 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:

Acts 26:2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:

Acts 26:3 Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

Acts 26:4 My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;

Acts 26:5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

Acts 26:6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers:

Acts 26:7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.

Acts 26:8 Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

Acts 26:15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

Acts 26:16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

Acts 26:17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Acts 26:19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Acts 26:21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.

Acts 26:22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

Acts 26:23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

Acts 26:24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.

Acts 26:25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

Acts 26:26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.

Acts 26:27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.

Ready ... LEARN what APPOINTMENTS mean ...

Genesis 1:14 - And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, H4150 and for days, and years:

DAYS are set in motion ... to understand TIMES and APPOINTMENTS!   The word MOADIM literally is APPOINTED TIMES!

Leviticus 23:4 - These are the feasts H4150 of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. H4150

So God has set up appointments ... and the DAY cycle is set in motion to SHOW us His Appointment schedule.

Learn the lesson of the FEASTS ... they are Biblical Feasts ... showing us God's appointment schedule!

This is the kind of logic being asserted. It is not scriptural. Peter was speaking to the urgency and anticipation of his first century readers.

The NEW TESTAMENT was for the ONE GENERATION ONLY?

Only to the time and people living right then?

Did 'the fulness of the Gentiles' only take 40 years and then it was over?

What is the purpose of reading it today?

It's been more than a dozen pages and no evidence, much less proof, has been posted. So, study some more.

Wasn't that taken as an attack on the person?  How does it now find a place?

The original assertion was the 7,000-year cycle was the Hebraic mindset and we must have that mindset to understand the millennial kingdom.

Jesus is coming back as a JEW!  He didn't come as a GENTILE ... He ESTABLISHED the Biblical FEASTS ... set up the DAYS from the creation of the world ... He is the WORD OF GOD ... perhaps it should be said, that I am placing on myself the MIND of CHRIST ... as HE is the WORD!

I'm simply READING the WORD in HIS CONTEXT!

Sorry, there's no celebration of Easter or Christmas in the future ... He didn't set up those feasts!  However, the Bible is clear that there will be FEASTS in the FUTURE ... the ONES He established!

I am loving this Thread!

We have 6 literal Days for Creation.

Those 6 days can be equivalent to 1,000 years per day.

24 hour days that also are equal to 1,000 years.

Because of those 6 days, we now have 6,000 years until the Return of Christ and ends Sin.

And as God Rested on Day 7, the Mill Reign will represent 1,000 years.

I am loving this Confirmation!

Somebody's math must be wrong then, since we've been in the Sabbath rest of God for 2000 years already.  :) "Come unto me you who are weary and I will give you rest."  "There remains therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God... Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest."

This would include the 144,ooo, yes?

These are those saved in the nick of time, right before the second coming?

Chronologically, I see the 144k coming on the scene (Revelation 7) just before the seven plagues commence at the seventh seal (Revelation 8).

They are sealed for a purpose and based on that timing, I'd expect that they are bearing witness to the plagues as being God's judgment and encouraging repentance from worshiping the man of sin.  That's just a guess though.

I do expect that the 144k will be made immortal at the return of Christ.

You guys quote the scriptures that don't actually say he is coming to earth and then claim that scripture says he is coming to earth. LOOK at the passage just quoted. Absolutely no mention of his coming to earth. NONE. Look at it. Jesus' throne in Revelation 20 is in heaven. John is seeing the souls of the beheaded with the throne. Are beheaded souls viewed running around on the planet during the millennium reign? If not then YOU, not me, have a huge inconsistency in the reading of Revelation 20. Same thing proves true in Revelation 19, too. War and judgment on earth, but Jesus is still in heaven. Look it up.

No mention of Jesus coming to earth.

Mention of his throne in heaven.

Yeah, but Josh, we're going to ignore what is actually stated, add our own eschatological view and then insinuate you do not believe in the same Jesus.

Yeah, okay. You do that. Doesn't change the facts of scripture as written. I am not the one adding to scripture. I am stating the facts of scripture: there isn't actually any mention of his coming to earth in Revelation 20 AND anyone who is standing on what is written will agree with me.

Let’s read Revelation 20 again.  The 7th Trump has sounded and Jesus Christ has returned, bringing with Him His army of saints.  ALL flesh has been "changed" and we’re now in the Millennium.  As you can see in verses 8 and 9, these events take place on earth in the beloved city of Jerusalem.

Revelation 20:

Satan Bound 1,000 Years

20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

The Saints Reign with Christ 1,000 Years

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received hismark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for [a]a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Satanic Rebellion Crushed

7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The Great White Throne Judgment

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before [c]God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second [d]death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Relevance?

I do not read anyone in this entire thread claiming Jesus is coming back as a Gentile.

Revelance... Because you are arguing out of absence of the NT as if the OT is irrevelant.  For example, NO WHERE in the Bible does it EXPLAIN why God chose 7 days to create the world?  Why not 1 day?  Why not 10 days?  But HE chose 7 days...why?

Perhaps you should recognize that Jesus CELEBRATED Shabbat every week... He never once celebrated Sunday as a day.  He is coming back again and Shabbat will have a special place once again.  Why?  What is the significance?

Why 7 days?  Show me where it explains why God chose 7 days to create the world in the NT?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
