Well, I agree that it is God's ideal for a man to have one wife. But, David was called "a man after God's own heart" and he had multiple wives.

Abraham is the "father of all who believe" and "the father of our faith" and he had multiple wives.

I'm not sure if polygamy is a sin or not. That plural marriage in the Netherlands is sinful because the women are bisexual and thus are having a relationship between themselves, too. That is sinful. But, is a normal heterosexual polygamous marriage sin? I can't say for sure that it is given the examples of Abraham and David.

Furthermore, the passage that talks about elders/deacons being "husbands of one wife" seems to indicate that those who do not seek such an office could have more than one wife. Similar to this:

1Ti 3:8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

Notice how it says "much wine." Thus, they can enjoy some wine.

However, the Bishop cannot be given to any wine.

Tit 1:7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

Polygamy is almost nothing compared to same-sex marriage. After the state creates same-sex marriage, it might as well recognize poygamy, marriage to pets, etc.

You should tremble to debase the actions of God in this way. (Ezekiel 23) It is a shame to you and upon your head, and all those who stood by and said nothing. How dare you insult a friend of God! (Isaiah 41:8, James 2:23)

All of these statements are false. The only reference to form regarding the ordination of Marriage and the account of Adam and Eve is Christ interpretting their form of marriage as not including divorce. This was the topic he was on when he mentioned their marriage, he makes zero reference to their monogamy as an ideal for all. Lamech is simply the first Polygynist mentioned, there is no reference whatsoever to Polygyny originating with him throughout scripture.

Name me one person that has not lived "Contrary to God's word". The giant leap required to say that it was their wives alone that were Solomon and David's problem involves finding a prohibition that simply is not there. David's sin was the murder of his friend and theft of his wife, Solomon's was the specific violation of having foreign marriage alliances that brought him wives of other faiths. There is considerable evidence that both Moses and Job were at least married more than once, probably polygynously. Though no other wife for Boaz is mentioned, it's silly to think a wealthy man in Isreal had not attracted a marriage contract from some family, though I suppose it is possible. Boaz, and Older rich man in Israel that had never found a wife. Hmmmmmmm... Some scholars say that Hosea had two wives though the evidence is inconclusive. It's also possible to argue that langauge about Peter taking along "a believing wife" suggests that he had more than one.
