1 Thessalonians 5:4-10

4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be [a]sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

Short of providing Biblical references, and it is beyond my pay grade. But, I get the impression that we will be incapable of sinning in the eternal state with our glorified bodies. If my thought is Biblically grounded, it appears we are set apart from the angels who have free will.

Thoughts?

Are we not going to have freewill in heaven?   I hadn't given that a lot of thought.   If that is the case then I don't see why anyone has to go to hell, if they can just be resurrected and  given a sin free body.

I do believe we will have free will in the eternal state. Before I comment any further, I best go back and find out where I obtained the idea of being incapable of sinning in eternity.

I have noticed this 70-year-old mind of mine is developing memory loss and showing its age. I do not want to spout unbiblical thoughts.

In a nutshell

GEN 2:1  Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

6635. tsaba ►
Strong's Concordance
tsaba: army, war, warfare
Original Word: צָבָא
Part of Speech: Noun Masculine
Transliteration: tsaba
Phonetic Spelling: (tsaw-baw')
Definition: army, war, warfare

Gen 28:12And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

13And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

14And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

Because everyone has yet to be born of the flesh, cast to earth.  Everyone must choose life or death.   GOD doesn't want robots anymore than He wants those who don't love Him to be around.

We are all running a race for God so He can see who we choose to be.

The goal is living eternal life as a vessel of gold and of honor in the house of GOD.

The TEST

And then we can have fun by stepping up our vocabulary some to  inject the Ekklesia. Or Ecclesia; I do so now with my apologies for  perhaps stepping in ahead of Miss Muffet.

I will raise up the word along with explanation by Got Questions at https://www.gotquestions.org/definition-ekklesia.html

I still use the term of the word "elect", As a certain form of the grammar English language, And I do not use it as the other form of the grammar English language.

The Bible has all kinds of verses about you are the elect and you are the chosen etc. There are two ways to apply the word elect in grammar and in the English language. I had a wonderful explanation posted on my other screen name and couldn't find it anymore when I didn't like that screen name.

I know this specific verse doesn't necessarily say elect, But there is "governor elect" and, "you are my elect". There is a contrast, and a drastic difference.

Also,{Continued} When Jesus is talking about, "His 'elect'", And for some reason we are barred about talking about this group of people,

He is talking about the Jewish people and the Gentiles are chosen to the Jewish people. God's elect is Israel, and through Israel He hopes to save all people, And the Gentiles preach to the Jewish people in order to save the entire world.

God does not wish for anyone to perish. Him having "an elect" does not dis~include everyone else. We are Chosen, Therefore, The Jewish people and Israel is chosen and the Gentiles are chosen to minister to the Jewish people,

On behalf of all people. That is God's elect. It has nothing to do with Jesus choosing a race of people, It has to do with how He witnesses to us and who He uses to witness to us, In hopes of saving all people and everyone in it. That is the term elect in the Bible.

What do you do with this statement by Jesus (for you said that we choose Him and He doesn't choose us)?

Jhn 15:16, Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

It wants everything, anywhere, anytime. It wants to become God

To answer the OP. Gen 3, Gen 6 and gen 11. Three evils that few even recognise since they have been taught ONLY about the fall.

We the anti-heroes think it is all about us. Preposterous!

I've already answered your question. It is referring to God's chosen elect, As they are the leaders. It is not referring to one specific race of people, It is referring to all people with the Gentiles and the Jewish people being the heads as in a military ranking. I've already answered your question. Jesus is not saying the you, as in you, He is referring to His chosen elect who are here to lead and guide all people to Christ Jesus the Lord and Savior. That is how I understand it, anyway.

All people are chosen by God. We have to choose Him. It's simple, Really.

Except that Jesus said, "Ye have not chosen me." (playing the devil's advocate here as I do not identify much with Calvinism).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
