This verse alone shows that the "abominations [plural] of a destroyer" of Daniel 9:27 cannot be "the abomination of desolation" of the End Times, which will be "in the naos [sanctuary or holy place]".

Nothing in the passage of Daniel 9:24-27 can be demonstrated to have any unequivocal prophetic message for OUR time, despite the great deal of hype to the contrary. It doesn’t mention at all

You are correct.

The significance of the A of D and it's nature relating to the time of the end, as Jesus told us about in Matt 24, is found in Daniel 9, 11, 12.

We are to look to Daniel for the information and understanding regarding the future A of D. 

What ever is described in Daniel concerning the A of D, in every instance where it's mentioned is for our understanding of it, as prescribed by Christ Himself; not necessarily a prophecy in Daniel of a future A of D from the time of Christ's prophecy during the Olivet Discourse.

I also am of the mind 'Daniel's people' are whomsoever is of the faith. It's not Israel...It's THE Israel; the same one into the which we are grafted.

I believe that to mean an actual end, not just spiritual,
but both spiritual and physical, an actual time when there is no more sin,
actual everlasting righteousness, and no more sin and death.
Lions and bears will actually eat straw instead of meat and so on.

Daniel 9:2 through 9:13-14 is the context of Daniel 9:24-27.

Daniel was concerned about the captivity he was in,
Gabriel tells Daniel that 70 such captivities would happen.

Surely Israel is in a state of war now, a war that started in earnest in 1967,
a war in times past called the 50 years war,
but as we can see from recent events in Israel, is still ongoing now.
And until the end of the war, desolations are determined.
By 2037 that war will be 70.

The people of the prince will likely build a temple to their prince.
Their prince will pretend to be the Messiah, with miracles and everything.

I believe certain catalysts are to happen first,
but certainly there is sincere push from inside and outside of Israel,
to build a third temple, for varying reasons.
A search for 'plans to build a temple in Jerusalem' shows that.

I believe that the world will be led to think that a certain tyrant is the anti-Christ,
and then war will result because of him. During which time Rev 13:3 will come to pass; the world marveling at the seeming healing from death of a prominent person. That person will then begin to speak about the return of Jesus and about things in heaven. Rev 13:6. Then 'Jesus' will arrive and defeat the tyrant.
That 'Jesus' is the real anti-Christ, but most people will think otherwise.

Who says he is Gentile.  He is most likely of Jewish ancestry. They will do a background check.  Just an unregenerate Jew.  He won't be able to sit until after completion. and then most likely only at the end to the 3 1/2 years.

Almost all of the speculation I have ever heard was saying that. Including at this forum. Are you thinking that if he is of Jewish stock they will be ok with a God hating, blasphemous, vile mocker and murderer, and with a camera crew/body cam etc?

Yes the true Messiah was Jewish  Jesus Christ. The Jews also know prophecy to an extent. They would not worship a Gentile, A Jewish person yes.  He will be cunning. (I will give a free pass to all Jews throughout the world to come and occupy Israel)  They will have tunnel vision.  Home at last. Yet the false Messiah will have the rest of the world enslaved and to worship him, giving them the Mark of the Beast. There really is no information of the a/c targeting Israel yet to receive the Mark that I know of because they already worship him.  He takes from the rest of the world and gives to Israel, their fortunes are being restored.... for a time.  It is a story line of acceptance and then betrayal. Then when the Two Witnesses come on the scene, things change fast for the worst.  Then Michael will stand up to protect the People of Daniel.

One must remember the Abrahamic Covenant.  An Eternal promise from God to Abraham, not the other way around. Abraham fell asleep, God walked between the halved animals to seal the deal.

The Eternal Covenant Promise was.  A People, A Land, A Blessing;  Those People are the physical descendants of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.  Circumcised male infants  on the 8th Day.  Now there are only two; Jew and Gentile. Next is the Land, present day Israel plus a lot more, possibly from the Euphrates to the Nile, where the feet of Abraham walked.  Then the Blessing who/which is Jesus Christ'

Gentiles do not qualify to be Jews, for they were separated in/from/by the Covenant.  Gentiles do not qualify to receive inheritance to the Land, not in the Covenant.  The only thing that we take a portion of is the Blessing.

Now the Jews/Israels inheritance is the earthly Land.  The Churches inheritance is Heavenly.  The Church (Jew and Gentile) is not of Israel, and Israel is not of the Church, Not in the Abrahamic Covenant.  Total separation.
