Flash Mob - A question seeking answer(s).

Mob mentality I do believe is just part of human nature.   Like anything else it is sometimes good and sometimes not.   I think it's part of the inner working of security in that the more people with you makes it less likely others can harm you.   Problem is that when a mob forms there is usually someone who takes the lead of the actions and that can be for good or evil.   We tend to remember the evil part.

Mobs are "interesting" as people lose their individuality and act with a sort of common mind.. People do stuff in mobs they would not normally do any other time. A police officer I knew some time ago said they are trained to make sure they address an individual within the mob as that can snap that person out of the mob in a cognitive sense.

Like a herd of wildebeest, instinct takes over, sensing safety in numbers from the lion.

Lions run in packs. To eat, nourishment, as were designed.

Herd mentality isn't limited to four footed animals.

Remember the cute short snippets on TV news programs of falsh mobs in malls singing Christmas Carols? 

Now there are flash mobs running through city streets jumping on cars smashing things attacking people anad vandalizing shop keepers places of business.

What has happened? Why will people be so easily led to do evil at the "command"  to do so?

I once wondered why kids at school were suddenly doing silly stuff pranks mostly, but then it became vandalism almost as on cue to do so. Then I learned of tiktok and tiktok challenges.

So TikTok may be the vehicle or one of the vehicles used for delivering these  commands that  so many are willing to act out. But why so many so dumb as to do it?

Used to be moms would ask rhetorically of their kids when they used lame excuses blaming others for their bad actions "if Johnny asked you to jump off a bridge would you do it?' Now evidently some cyber entity can say do this challenge go to town and rob the local leather goods shop of all it has on it's shelves,- and people do it. 

Is there something different today, something that has enabled release of such flash mob like mindlessness?

I know I had posted this in another of your thread but the answer is the same for that mob mentality in following the crowd.

The sin nature is the problem.  Add the devil in the mix.

And as long as they teach that false science, the evolution theory, in school, we will always have bullying and racism.

Since our school system are betraying us in corrupting our children now with sexually explicit material, pornography, and transgenderism, critical race theory ( as if the evolution theory isn't enough ) maybe parents should use the church building like they did on "Little House on the Prairie" and start raising children in the way they should go, providing that the church has not been compromised.

So does Walmart as they are closing their stores inthe areas where the mobs are forming ( Chicago and other cities).

Not so sure about the good mob part. I think good is individual and does not overtake like evil can and does.
