This is how it's always been, @Neighbor.

What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin; as it is written:
“There is no righteous person, not even one;
There is no one who understands,
There is no one who seeks out God;
They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt;
There is no one who does good,
There is not even one.”
“Their throat is an open grave,
With their tongues they keep deceiving,”
“The venom of asps is under their lips”;
“Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness”;
“Their feet are swift to shed blood,
Destruction and misery are in their paths,
And they have not known the way of peace.”
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

(Romans 3:9-18 NASB)

We do not live in exceptional times, my friend. The evil of yesterday is the evil of today:

What has been, it is what will be,
And what has been done, it is what will be done.
So there is nothing new under the sun.

(Ecclesiastes 1:9 NASB)

An 85 year old man shots a 16 year old boy that rings his doorbell? And then the boy seeking help with a bullet through his head goes to three homes without getting response for aid before yet another neighbor does rush to his aid?

Is America so fear filled today that  if a door bell rings one picks up a gun and shots the person at their door?

Is this to be the results that we will see more of as result of  of Sheriffs encouraging residents to "stand their ground"?

With  real criminals out without bail there is real reason to be in some fear, but shooting at the sound of a doorbell ring?

Praying for this young man, a child really, that has been shot. He has a name it is Ralph Yarl.

The sin nature is the problem.  Add the devil in the mix.

And as long as they teach that false science, the evolution theory, in school, we will always have bullying and racism.

The Full Title of Darwin's Origin of the Species

"Those who argue at school board meetings that Darwin should be taught in public schools seldom have taken the time to read him. If they knew the full title of On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life, they might have gained some inkling of the racism propagated by this controversial theorist. Had they actually read Origin, they likely would be shocked to learn that among Darwin's scientifically based proposals was the elimination of "the negro and Australian peoples," which he considered savage races whose continued survival was hindering the progress of civilization." ~~End of quote

More info at the link above the quote.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Since our school system are betraying us in corrupting our children now with sexually explicit material, pornography, and transgenderism, critical race theory ( as if the evolution theory isn't enough ) maybe parents should use the church building like they did on "Little House on the Prairie" and start raising children in the way they should go, providing that the church has not been compromised.

Heard about that. I hope they throw the book at the shooter. Blowing someone away because they rang your door bell is a ridiculous decision.

Any mentally unsound person can buy a gun and as long as they have no felony convictions they are a-okay,I believe this is when our medical records should not be withheld and a competency test should be required.....Also,age factor,I feel the same way about Drivers licenses,after let's say age 65 a test for competency,physical & mental capacity should be evaluated --- think of all the revenue that would generate for the State

I feel this one so strongly. My grandmother had dementia and really had no business being on the road, but on the road she stayed anyway. I was honestly and literally terrorized by her insistence on driving. No exaggeration. Flat out driving in the middle of the road without even noticing it happened. Didn't want to get in the car with her but also didn't want to leave her to her own devices. Horrible experience but it brought me closer to God. I ended up praying pretty much every time I got in the car with her.

If a door bell made him that freaked out, why didn't he have it removed or disconnected.

Luckily the victim didn't get blown away.

"Lester told police he was in bed when he heard someone ring his doorbell.

He said he thought a “6 feet tall” Black man was trying to open his storm door, a criminal complaint states. That’s when he opened fire, he told police.

Lester said “it was the last thing he wanted to do, but he was ‘scared to death’” about the person’s size and his inability to defend himself, according to the criminal complaint.

“He believed he was protecting himself from a physical confrontation and could not take the chance of the male coming in,” the complaint states. He was “visibly upset and repeatedly expressed concern for the victim.” " end of quote

Crazy.   Whatever happened to responding with" who is it" or even" back away from the door OR I'll shoot"....

There's something wrong with that man,if it's the LAST thing he wanted to do then there are many things he should have done first ...like gee,call the police?A neighbor? Maybe live in an assisted living community ...?

Right?

The red flag laws are not perfect but look to be an effective tool.

It's a start- still,mental evaluation & competency testing requirements would be even better .....I don't see that happening though or even proposed

Funny thing is,all the accidents they cause...and they never even realize what they did,I've seen it so so many times as I watch the big ole Cadillac that seems no one is driving go off into the sunset leaving a total pile up in their wake!

I pulled into the grocery store parking lot and saw this old woman,barely visible below her steering wheel bouncing off parked cars to get out of her parking space- she hit 3 cars and was going to leave but was stopped by an owner of one of the cars she dented....her reply " I couldn't see behind me"......

So it seems she drives by " feel' ...  Yeah,that's what we have on the roads here in South Florida .   Very scarey-

I was renewing my driver's license many yrs ago & was next in line for my eye exam behind a man who had to be in his 90's... . The examiner said " Read line one" ,he said " I can't see it".Then she said try line 2 but the man said all the wrong letters and she said for him to go to the next line which he got all wrong. .  All that was left was the giant letter E at top ,he said "E"...  She told him to go have his photo taken!!!!

I was in shock & said to the examiner":You just passed a blind man,are you serious?"....She told me to mind my business....Of course I complained to the supervisor,meanwhile that old man got his renewal & out the door he went.Imagine that- true story

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
