Artificial Intelligence -AI- Is No More Dangerous Than:

Huge enormous Asteroids hitting the Earth (some big ones have hit the earth
in the past.)

Nukes (many are now in the hands of potentially dangerous lunatics)

The San Andreas fault that the experts say has the potential to do major
worldwide catastrophic damage.

Viruses (there are viruses out there lurking that could kill 2 billion people under
the right set of conditions and in just a few months too -- ot MORE than 2 billion

Comets (huge comments hitting the earth and destroying thr planet.

Nuclear war (they have already dropped two -- Nagasaki and Hiroshima -- so it
lurks out there as a real possibility just as does the dangers of AI

Economics -- the lunatics that run the 2st century could create a worldwide
economic depression that would end up killing half the Earth's population

Super volcanic eruptions -- the potential is there to destroy the Earth.

My conclusion: I do not fear any of that up there because I know the
Sovereign God is in total control of this world a nd that all things will
unfold:

"according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity
with the purpose of his will."
Ephesians 1:11

 

"Have faith in God."__The Lord Jesus

Unbelievers have no such hope.

I agree. Any number of things have the potential for much death, but God is indeed in control and we who are 'In Christ' have read the last chapter--so we share "the reason for the Hope that is in us".

Those things that can only kill the body can only kill the body, but AI will be given the power to very persuasively lead people into the destruction of their soul without even killing them in their body.

Yes - the wars and rumors thereof category.  Impending doom being preached. ("Why are they disquieted in vain?"  Psalm 39:6) 

It's actually akin to an old sales technique, to get people to react emotionally and hopefully buy whatever is being peddled.

Yeah, no real fear of it on my end either, though I do think misused AI has the potential to be more insidious. Unlike plagues and natural disasters it's not threatening when taken at face value, but lost jobs when the AI grows more advanced will certainly create problems. I imagine it's going to be another can of worms when people start using it to study and mimic people who were incredibly charismatic speakers and then that's used to deceive the masses. But again, God knew it was going to happen in advance so nothing is happening that He hasn't allowed and planned for.

IF AI gets too invasive and/or dangerous, we could simply 'unplug' and go back to a more simpler life without technology ?
