Many confuse the timing of the battle of Gog and Magog with current events happening today. But the battle of Gog and Magog does not happen until after the thousand year reign of Christ as is written…

Revelation 20:7-9 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”

This event happens after the resurrection of the saints as shown in Revelation 20: 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

This resurrection of the saints is also shown in Ezekiel 37:11-14

11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

13 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord.”

This resurrection of God’s people precedes the battle of Gog and Magog shown in the next chapter.

Notice Israel in Ezekiel 38 is shown without walls

8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them."

9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

10 Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:

11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,”

At present modern day Israel has very high walls and also many bars and gates, so this is not describing modern day Israel, which is also not at rest and dwelling safely as described above.

Also if you notice the weapons they use in the battle are not modern day weapons, and also notice they are on horses…

Ezekiel 38:4 “And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

This makes perfect sense because the earth is determined to burned up along with everything that is in it, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.  So not only will the current walls surrounding Israel be destroyed, but also all the modern day weapons shall be destroyed in the inferno that is coming upon the earth.

But we are told by God's words that a few men shall be left after this fiery destruction…

Isaiah 24:6 “Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

God said in Ezekiel 39 that He would leave a “sixth part” of Gog that will come upon the mountains of Israel in verse 2 “And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:”

This portion that remains after the wrath of God is poured out on the earth is shown in Daniel as the rest of the beasts that had their dominion taken away, whose lives were prolonged for a season and time, or for a thousand years as shown in the Revelation.

Daniel 7:12 “As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

So the next big battle to take place before the resurrection of the saints is the battle of Armageddon, not the battle of Gog and Magog, which happens after the resurrection of the saints and after the thousand year reign of Christ.

Peace and God bless

Consider that Gog is mentioned in more than one war.Gog is also mentioned in Ezekiel 38 and that is a different war than Revelation.

You are confused brother. The Book of Revelation uses the Old Testament to tell us future events. The Four Horses are taken out of Zechariah, but that Prophesy has already been fulfilled, but lets say THAT Four Horse Prophesy was supposed to be fulfilled just before the 70th week started AND God also used to to tell about the First 4 Seals in the middle of week, then the original prophecy would come to pass first, followed by the Four Horses in Rev. 6.

This is how the Gog & Magog War will play out. God burns 5/6 of those armies. After the 1000 year reign, God/Jesus will burn everyone being left on this earth. We go to a New Heaven and a New Earth. This whole universe is set ablaze. I think earth is future hell. So, how best describe this event that is a 1000 years into the future? Well, since God destroyed Gog and Magog with fire it fits. Now read Rev. 17, then go read Daniel 5, that is where Rev. 17 was taken from. God took like minded events and used them in the book of Revelation.

To confirm the “timing” of this future war we can look at when shall Israel and Jerusalem  “dwell safely and be at rest” and be “Without walls”

Prophecy…

And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are “at rest,”that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel “dwelleth safely,” shalt thou not know it?

So when did God say He would gather His people together and they would “dwell safely and be at rest?”

In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord Our Righteousness

Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:

Ezekiel 28:25-26

King James Version

25 Thus saith the Lord God; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.

26 And they shall “dwell safely”therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the Lord their God.”

And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.”

After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall “dwell safely all of them.”

And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

God’s people dwelling safely and being at rest does not happen until Christ returns and we enter into God’s big Sabbath day “of rest” = a thousand years of rest for Gods people

Hebrews 4:1-9

King James Version

4 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into “his rest,” any of you should seem to come short of it.

2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

3 For we which have believed “do enter into rest,” as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into “my rest:” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into “my rest.”

6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

7 Again, he limiteth “a certain day,”saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

9 There remaineth therefore “a rest”to the people of God.”

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Peace

I wouldn't consider fire coming down out of heaven and destroying Gog in Ezekiel 38 as a war.

But there is a terrible war before Ezekiel 38 that the earth itself must recover from. That previous war is the war of armegeddon.

Ezekiel 38:8

After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety.

Gog only prepares for war. God destroying Gog with fire does not constitute a war.

How do you get God making fire and brimstone rain down upon Gog as a war?You honestly believe Gog has a chance to defeat God or something?

Ezekiel 38

22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

It's not like the saints of Israel has to fight or anything.God destroys Gog and the many peoples that come with him with fire as the word of God shows.

Ezekiel 38:21-23
I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother.

22 And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

23 Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”

Are you saying that after 1000 years of Jesus' rule, where He is ruling with a rod of iron, where nations yearly come to Jerusalem to pay homage to Him................ that they..... DO NOT KNOW THAT HE IS THE LORD?

AFTER A 1000 YEARS?????

Do you believe the revelation of Jesus Christ could in fact be truthful or do you believe it's a lie?

Below the book of revelations says exactly what you question. The saints reign with Christ for 1000 years and then Gog and Magog come against Christ and the saints after that 1000 years. Not before the 1000 years ,but after.

Are you going to say revelation is a lie or not?

At present modern day Israel has very high walls and also many bars and gates, so this is not describing modern day Israel, which is also not at rest and dwelling safely as described above.

What about present day Israel; say 2 years from now?  Can they have un-walled cities, and neither bars or gates.  What happens if Israel pushes all considered a threat to their security out of Israel from this present war.  Once their borders are secure, then they can live as described in Ezk 38.  Only then can this Gog, Magog war begin.  Notice Israel buries the dead for 7 Months, and after that scattered bones are flagged for future interment.  They burn the weapons of war for 7 Years.  So what you are implying is on the New Earth and with the New Jerusalem already come down from Heaven Israel will be burying the dead and finding bone fragments for 7 Months and also burning the weapons of war for 7 Years on this same New Earth.  Yes this would be a Mystery if it we so.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
