Hi Ad Hoc,

John 2: 16 `Do not make my Father`s house a house of merchandise!`

This is the Temple where people go in and out.

John 2: 19 `Destroy this Temple, and in three days I will raise it up.`

The Jews thought He was speaking about building, their Temple. However, -

John 2: 21 `But He was speaking of the temple of His body.`

Correct. Our Lord was speaking of the Temple of His Body, which was the Father's House. Nothing about the Third Heaven! In John the things that our Lord did was to build faith so that God could live in MEN. There is no revelation of the Third Heaven called "The Father's House". In Chapter 1 five things are recorded for the building of Bethel, and three things are the material.

After the Church is complete, Jesus will turn to Canaan where Israel languish. The pots are for the ritual washing of the Law. But Law has caused the wine to run out. Israel only know uncleaness. Their joy is non-existent. Even if they wish to keep the Law, they cannot. The pots are empty. Jesus is a guest - not the bridegroom. Israel is God's wife not Jesus'. His disciples watch but do not partake of this sign. The empty vessels are filled by men which is for Israel's return to the Law (Deut.30:1-5), but it remains but cleansing water. But with the entry of as Messiah, death waters of Law become living wine (which cheereth God and man - Judg.9).

Then Jesus turns to Israel's restoration (Act.15:14-16), He is present for a Millennial Passover (Lk.22:15-16). Israel will have a physical Temple because Emmanuel dwells WITH then. But there is a much higher and more glorious Temple - His Body. This is the revelation of John 2. The temple of Timber and gold is wonderful. The Temple of His BODY is more glorious.

1 Cor. 6: 17 `But he who is joined to the Lord is ONE SPIRIT WITH HIM.`

Yes. But you have to explain why TWICE in this passage, our BODIES are His BODY (vs.15 & 19). Then we can deal with being ONE SPIRIT (v.17). I will do it - the Lord willing.

Chapter 6 is a continuation of Chapter 5. Chapter 5 shows a Christian who partakes of fornication. But in this case he partakes of a particularly heinous sort of fornication - incest. His BODY is joined to the BODY of his stepmother. Their union is illegal. They have become ONE FLESH. All sins take place outside the body except fornication. If man is the Temple of God, his human spirit is the Holy of Holies. And this sin drives inwards to defile the inner man - the place where God dwells. This He cannot tolerate - and the man is to be killed, even though it is the age of grace. What is the purpose of His death then? To preserve God's holiness AND to preserve God's sanctuary. What he does is "LEAVENOUS".

When an unbeliever commits incest he becomes ONE FLESH with the whore. But when a Christian does it it threatens the human spirit. And that is the Citadel of our relationship with Christ - OUR LEGAL HUSBAND. But we do not have sex with Christ. Our ONENESS is via the human spirit. In John 4:24 God institutes a New place of COMM-UNION - the human spirit. Israel's relationship with Messiah is "according to the FLESH" The Church is in a relationship "according to the Holy Spirit in our human spirit."

Perhaps looking at it from the th Tree of Life is easier. Eating is a matter of the flesh. When a man comes to faith in Jesus and confesses this faith, he is BORN ANEW. Where does it happen? In the human spirit (Jn.3:6). From that moment a man can go to New York or the south Pole and continue in a perfect and intimate relationship with Jesus. In this way we are not restricted lie Israel. The Israelite must live near Jerusalem. He worships in a mountain. His connection to Jesus is "according to the FLESH". You and I are joined to Christ via the human spirit. We are ONE SPIRIT - Him in us and us IN Him.

This is odd; "But these men, once transformed to the status of an angel RETURN via the same ladder.  That God's Abode is made of men like angels is seen in New Jerusalem (Rev 21:17)

Does not agree with Col 1:15-18a - He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by him (Jesus Christ) all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. and Heb 2:16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham's descendants.  And Jesus was made a little lower than the angels (at his birth).

We as men are not even close to that of an angel. We as men return to the dust of the earth.  We as men can be redeemed.  An angel cannot be redeemed.   If they are fallen, they are destined to the LOF.  We as Believers in Christ are like Christ, we are his body and then become above the angels.  For we will Judge Angels (1 Cor 6:3)

In Christ

Montana Marv

I understand your objection. Here is Luke 20 on the matter;

35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

I used the word "like" instead of "equal". Here is Matthew 22, where you could substitute the word "LIKE" for "AS" ;

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

You are correct when you say that we are nothing like an angel. In both Old and New Testament man is "made a little lower than the angels". In fact, we have a case where one angel killed 185,000 Syrians in one night. What I was trying to show was that in the explanation of "Bethel" in John Chapter 1, was why the Holy Spirit usd "angels" and why they start on earth. Bethel means "House of God" and it is not made with angels - but men.

What the Holy Spirit did was shorten the explanation by introducing the concept of angels because elsewhere in the bible we can get the explanation of angels "LIKE"; "AS", "EQUAL" men. In Matthew 16 our Lord introduced His Church for the first time, and His two leading statements were;
1. The gates of HADES would not prevail
2. He would uphold a decision by the Church to shut out a trouble-maker from the Kingdom. (A "key" is for locking IN or locking out")

Point #1 is what we discuss. Because the Church is made with BODIES of believers (1. Cor.6:15), its big enemy is not the Devil. It is death. At death, the human is torn apart. His BODY goes to dust, his soul goes to HADES and his spirit goes upwards to God (Eccl.3:21, 12:7). From 1st Kings 17:22 and Luke 8:55 we see that in resurrection, both spirit and soul come back to the BODY. But the soul is LOCKED in HADES as was Davids' in Acts 2:26-34. So our Lord needs to overcome the "GATES of HADES" to build His Church.

The death of a Christian  damages the Church because he loses his BODY. What do we need to build the Church? MEN ... but men LIKE angels - who can never die again. And so it is. Our Lord builds His Church with men in RESURRECTION.

You are also correct about the POWER of an angel. He is far superior to man. But that's just it. The man was designed to be JOINED to God - and derive his power from this relationship.

Shalom, Marilyn C.

Actually, I don't think you've got enough evidence to support that theory. We come WITH the Messiah to reign! mistaken, right?

Actually Retro, I don`t think you have any evidence to support that theory.

There are NO scriptures to say that the Body of Christ comes with Jesus at the end of the trib. However, there are plenty of scriptures to show that the Lord`s angelic army comes with Him.

 `they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with power & great glory.

And He will send His angels..`                             (Matt.24: 30 & 31)

`When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him...` (Matt. 25: 31)

`the Son of Man comes in His glory, & in the glory of the holy angels.`  (Luke 9: 26)

`when Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God,..` (2 Thess. 1: 7)

Good morning, Marilyn. Not to be argumentive, but let’s discuss this a bit further.

[As the hymn to lyrics] Onward Christian soldiers, marching on to war…

We are Christian soldiers. To me, it makes sense that we, as the New Testament saints, the body of Christ, and the Tribulation martyrs, will accompany Jesus back to earth at His 2nd coming, along with the entire angelic army.

We will not participate in the battle, as a matter of fact, there will be no battle. Jesus will speak and be done.

The clues are:

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. (Revelation 19:14)

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (Revelation 17:14)

When are angels ever spoken of clothed in fine linen, white and clean? Are angels ever called, called, chosen, or faithful? To my knowledge, only men are.

And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. (Revelation 19:8)

BTW: I have already named my white horse, “High-Ho Silver Away.” What are you going to name your white horse? 😊

Hi Joe,

Glad you are looking into the details.

Psalm 47 reveals that when God is King over the earth and He will go UP with a shout.

`Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. He will subdue the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet.

He will choose our inheritance for us, the excellence of Jacob whom He loves. God has gone UP with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

Sing praise to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding.

God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne. The princes of the people have gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted.` (Ps. 47: 1 - 9)

We need also to look at other scriptures concerning the Lord`s throne on high. The Father seated Him -

`Far above all...not only in this age but also in that which is to come.` (Eph. 1: 21)

Rev. 4 shows us the Lord`s own throne in the third heaven. Other realms also have the Lord`s throne, His authority but the seat of His power and authority is on high, in the third heaven. This is over all of God`s great kingdom - third heaven, Universal realm and the earth.

Let's look at Rev 11:15>

           "Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,

         “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”  And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God,  saying,

         “We give You thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.  And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

           And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a great hailstorm."

                                              ------------------------

At the sounding of the seventh trumpet, the Coronation of Jesus begins. He is given the kingdom of the world, and He begins His reign. He is annointed King

This is the same event as in Daniel 7:9-10, 13

Daniel 7:9-10: "

                   “I kept looking
Until thrones were set up,
And the Ancient of Days took His seat;
His garment was white as snow,
And the hair of His head like pure wool.
His throne was ablaze with flames,
Its wheels were a burning fire.
10.....  A river of fire was flowing
And coming out from before Him;
Thousands upon thousands were serving Him,
And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him;
The court convened,
And the books were opened."

This is the beginning of God's judgment. The court has convened. The "books" were opened.

This is  the trumpet judgments, because after this passage, Daniel says he kept looking and notice what he says:

                    "I kept looking because of the boastful words which the horn was speaking; I kept looking until the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and given to the burning fire......"

Then, in verse 13 Daniel says:

                      " I kept looking in the night visions,

                and behold, with the clouds of heaven

                        One like a Son of Man was coming,

                and He came UP to the Ancient of Days,

                        And was presented before Him.

                 And to Him was given dominion,

                        Glory and a kingdom,

                  That all the peoples, nations and men of

                         every language

                   Might serve Him............. "

Notice in Daniel that the Lord comes UP to the Ancient of Days and is given His kingdom. He is annointed King!

This is also the same event as Psalm 47:

                 "Clap your hands, all you peoples;
Shout to God with a voice of joy.
 For the Lord Most High is to be feared,
A great King over all the earth.
 He subdues peoples under us
And nations under our feet.
 He chooses our inheritance for us,
The pride of Jacob whom He loves. Selah

 God has ascended with a shout,
The Lord, with the sound of a trumpet.

 Sing praises to God, sing praises;
Sing praises to our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth;
Sing praises with a psalm of wisdom.
God reigns over the nations,
God sits on His holy throne. The princes of the people have assembled as the people of the God of Abraham,
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
He is highly exalted."

                                     ------------------------

Here in Psalm 47, the Lord ascends with a shout at the sound of the trumpet.....and He sits on His Throne. He is annointed King!

So we see 3 Scriptures all talking about the same event.

But you left out:

Jude 14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, 15 to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”

Also agree that the kingdom/rulership of heaven will be on the earth. It will be the Lord ruling from His exalted throne in the highest (Eph. 1: 20 & 21) through Israel. A man named David will be Israel`s king in the millennium. (Ez. 37: 24   Jer. 30: 9) So, there will not be two kings on the earth ruling. Jesus will be ruling from the highest, and the man named David ruling on the earth.

One must remember that Jesus will have "many diadems/crowns." Rev. 19:12 Many crowns indicates many kingdoms. Yes, He will have a throne in heaven (and probably more than one), but that does not mean that He will not have any other thrones.

Ancient kings of kings (Rev. 19:16) would sometimes rule from more than one throne. When Assyria conquered Babylon, the Assyrian king was required to sit one day each year on the throne of Babylon to confirm his kingship over the city. Belshazzar was called King of Babylon, but he reigned as a regent in Babylon under his father King Nabonidus.

Such appears to be the case with Christ and David in the Millennium. We can see this in Ezekiel 40-45:

43: 7 And He said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever."

48:21 “The rest [of the holy district around Jerusalem] shall belong to the prince, on one side and on the other of the holy district and of the city's property, next to the twenty-five thousand cubits of the holy district as far as the eastern border, and westward next to the twenty-five thousand as far as the western border, adjacent to the tribal portions; it shall belong to the prince. It shall be the holy district, and the sanctuary of the temple shall be in the center.

Prince:  Hebrew: nâsîyʼ, naw-see'; or נָשִׂא nâsiʼ; from H5375; properly, an exalted one, i.e. a king or sheik...

So Jerusalem will be effectively ruled by a regent, although officially ruled by the Lord.

(Ha, ha) Morning Dennis,

Haven`t you known me long enough to know that I`d have that base covered, (ha, ha again)

`And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, clothed in `PURE WHITE LINEN,` and having their chests girded with golden bands. ` (Rev. 15: 6)

This is to distinguish them from the demonic angels. (I think)

Now the `white horses.` (very funny there bro.)

 `white,` is from Gk. word `leukos,`  meaning light, glory.

 `horse,` is a symbol for power and strength.  (Ps. 147: 10)

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
