The question puzzled me a bit and really made me think..

Hi Angels,

I read these verses every time I read the Bible, from Genesis through Revelation, and thought there was something different or unusual about them. This passage piqued doctrinal and theological questions. If I stopped everywhere I had a question, I would never finish what I started.

Our Sunday School lesson is on portions of John chapter five this Sunday. The study material we use is abbreviated for time restraints, and it mentions it is not in any manuscripts before 400 A.D. and was probably Jewish superstition. I also wondered if competing for healing was cruel or fair; is that Biblical? Michael posted a video I will use on Sunday (if everything works as hoped). There is an excellent lesson learned from those passages and applied to cleansing, stirring living water, Jesus.

These verses are the few that the Bible does not explain itself. I could not find any parallel, cross, or important passages associated with this random competitive physical healing.

The more I studied it, the more I thought this would be a good topic of discussion on the forum.

I was going to let it go and move on, but I desired to address perceived allegations one last time, and I did not report it on my behalf but chose to ignore any further discussion or unproductive bickering.

Quotes: “If you're teaching on John 5:4, teach the truth: that its text does not appear in the earliest Greek NT manuscripts.” “If you read my post, I'm not insuating anything. I'm only giving an exhortation.  You would know this if you understood what colons are in grammar and why they're used in writing.”

As I replied, I am not teaching anything; it is a discussion, and the mss was part of it. If I am not teaching the truth, what am I teaching? Perhaps I am poorly educated in the three Rs or how colons - semicolons alter grammar. If I knew what “insuating” is, I might better understand colons.

Dennis,to tell you the truth before I even reached the question in your first post and was reading what you posted ,my first thought was how God provided a Salvation plan for all of us ,for all who are sick from sin and that Jesus can heal us all (from sin) when we come to Him) All the people who were waiting by the pool were not really looking for Jesus but only wanted to get healed from their physical pains, this lonely man had nobody and didn't Jesus said He came for the poor and lonely? Does it show here that the ones who want to be first will be last? I'm so glad our God does not play favouritism but looks for a humble heart who's seeking out for Him,He cares for all and even looks out for the sparrows ,He knows our needs  and if we're sincere looking for truth and to do His will,He will never disappoint us..

Got it.

The colon (:) is a punctuation mark used after a statement that separate the statement prededing the colon, to a statement after the colon.  It is used in order to give context to the preceding statement and to direct the reader that a further clarifying statement  follows.  The statement that follows the colon is simply  conveying more information to the reader on what the preceding statement is referring.

So, the colon after my statement, "teach the truth", was a signal to you that a followup statement would shed further light on what I meant by "teach the truth."

And what I meant by "teach the truth." should mot be understood as an insinuation of lying, but be understood this way, "The truth is that the text of John 5:4 does not appear in the earliest Greek NT manuscripts.”

So, if you delete everything I wrote, and replace it with the following, "The truth is that the text of John 5:4 does not appear in the earliest Greek NT manuscripts.  That's what you should teach or discuss.”, would you have made the same accusation against me?

@Dennis1209 I posted a good 8 minute video on this subject for you. (Not the first post)

How is it that you did not allow my video to be posted because it ran 5mins  over, yet you allow  Angelsforu to post a video over two hours long?

Sorry 1to3,people are volunteering in the ministry can post longer video's ,they don't need Michael's permission but I have Georges permission, hope that helps?

When people who volunteer have time or are willing to listen to a longer video they can do that but they don't have to do it as it can be very time consuming. Which video did you post from Rick Renner? I do listen to him at times . I check it for you..:)

Thank you @Angels4u for replying.

The video in question that I posted is (I had to go back and check) is exactly 38min:37 long.

With the title: Pool of Bethesda

  from Renner ministries

I though this video would be a helpful presentation , as it gives many historical and spiritual information that only bring forth the power of Gods Mercy and Grace working today as it did in the day Christ Jesus healed the man by the pool.

To find the video on you tube you have to find the one that is :38min:37 long. as there are a few others by the same ministry that are shorter but do not give the full story and explanation that the video I presented did.

You can google the tile: Pool of Bethesda

by: Renner Minestries

Make sure you view the video that is 38min:37 long. That was the video that I wanted to post to help for further understanding of the man who was healed by the pool of Bethesda through our Lord and
Savior Christ Jesus
who Is the same yesterday, today and Tomorrow. Praise God!

This is a side note:  I have experienced this week that The Worthy system has been running kind of strange, slow -and or either not being able to go unto the site, or slowing down to the point of not being able to use @----- with the  members name,  like here when I am trying to reply to you I have to write down the members name after I write @.

Thank you for taking the time to read my comment.

In Christ Jesus Always;🌿

I don't think that video was too long. I have posted videos from Dr. Jeremiah that was 1 hour long. The only reason that video should not have been posted is if it was not biblical. :no_idea:

David Jeremiah videos don't need Oversight scrutiny, that's why we have authority from George to approve them without watching them. Otherwise the 20minute rule applies unless I am prepared to spend 30minutes on something.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
