I am not American or Anti American but i would love to know why is it that if there is any major war or rivalry between neighbouring countries America gets involved and they make themselves targets! It seems to me that 9/11 would never have happened if comments and ineffectual interference into the Arab world. Look I am South African and our country is seen as a mediator when there are problems we look at addressing the suffering and anguish with words of peace and love. We have learnt from our torrid past is it not time America did the same?

I think it is a matter of looking at it from a different perspective.

Terrorism will not stop at the doorway to South Africa.

There are two diametrically opposed civilizations here. Some Nations see the gathering storm while others desire business to be back to usual. The problem is that it cannot return to normal under the current state of assault in the world. One side must prevail.

Meanwhile all the other interests are choosing sides.

To stay neutral will only forstall the impending elimination of your way of life.

Islamic terrorists have made targets of countries that have had little or no influence in the Middle East. We are dealing with a movement now that is intent on changing the world to their way of thinking. Isolationism simply is not a viable policy in this new and smaller world. Further we have allies (Israel) and other interests in the Middle East that require our support. The so called "religion of peace" is anything but. They do not merely want to be left alone. They want to take over the world. Better to fight the battle there than here.

The goal of the fundamentalist Muslim world (of which the terrorists are a part) is to enforce Islamic law over the whole world. They view the US as the only entity that is capable of interfering with this goal (thus they call us the great Satan). OUr very existance is a threat to these folks.

First off, 9/11 is the result of the United States inaction, not their action.....

the same people that sent the planes into the twin towers, were the same ones that placed a truck bomb in the parking garage of the tower......

these are the same people that hijacked a ocean liner, cruise ship, and took a man bound to a wheel chair and pushed him overboard in front of his wife.....

these are the same people that have bombed other buildings and places through out the world, not just in the USA, but also in Africa and other european countries....

these are the same people that ran a boat full of explosives into a ship sitting in port in Yemen.....

this is not just a thing that is on going in the USA..... this is also going on in India, and other countries....

now..... as far as the USA sticking their nose where it does not belong, maybe, the USA needs to pull every person back into the USA, and forget about all the aid that has been handed out to every other country, including South Africa, India, China, the former USSR, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Afgahn, france, Kenya, Congo, and Sadan..... let us pull every one back in and then require payment in full for all the money that has gone out to all the other countries..... and then add the interest on top of that......

you see, when innocent people are killed, it becomes some ones responsibility......

they came for the Jews, I was not a Jew, so i did nothing,

they came for the hindu, I was not hindu, so i did nothing,

they came for the french, i was not french so i did nothing,

you see,

when the french rail road failed, went belly up, the United States was there to help them back up on their feet....

when a country is in need, the United States is there to lend a helpping hand....

when Russia was having a famine, the United States loaned them money to purchase wheat......

when the Tsunami hit Indonisia, the United States gave money and supplies to aid in their recovery.....

all through out history of the United States, they have been going to the aid of many other countries.....

none of the loans, or aid has ever been repaid, not even the interest has been paid on.... and yet, all this debt to the United States has been let alone, has not even been asked for......

if the United States was to stay out of other peoples business, that would also mean the aid going out to all the countries would have to come to an end also... .that would also mean any and all aid to all the countries of Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, Eurasia, Europe, everyone.....

is that what we are suppose to do???

does that mean we are suppose to tuck tail and run? stick our heads in the sand.....

the events of 9/11 did not only affect the United States, but all countries.... this was not the begining of a series of events, but one of many in a series of many events that had already been taking place...

9/11 was actually the result of the United States staying out of other peoples business.... was a result of inactivity to stop these cowards that prey on the weak.....

Japan found out what it was like to wake the sleeping giant......

the terrorist are finding out also......

so far, since this war is been on going, the United States has lost fewer men (and women) then any other war we have encountered.... and the out come will be better also....

in VietNam, there were more sailors killed on the streets of the United States in one year from the result of auto accidents, then there were during the entire period of the war from battle injuries...... the result of this, during the 1970's and 80's, the United States Navy implimented a Drivers Safety class in boot camp. this resulted in fewer lives lost on the road....

well, sorry for rambling on.... but personally, i feel we need to step up the pace against these cowards, that kill women and children for no cause...... and they do not care what country they are from or in....

Hi Nevin...I think that generally South Africa has been outspoken in both its opposition to the war in Iraq, and the treatment of the Palestinians by Israel. Reading between the lines I suspect there is a groundswell of Anti-American feeling that filters down through the national awareness of many South Africans.

As already been stated...Islam seeks world domination period, and it does not care who gets in the way, even if they are peaceful and fairly supportive of Moslems at the moment...the fact that they are not followers of Mohammed will mean that in the fulness of time when they are no longer of service, they too will be targetted.

The US is not perfect in its policies, nor is the UK where I live...but at last many people are waking up to the fact that Islam threatens every single non-Moslem, and the freedom of every non-Moslem individual. Peace at any price is not really an alternative, and however ineffectual you might see the US...they are trying their best to take the battle to the antagonists and not to sit twiddling their thumbs while blokes like Osama plan their destruction with impunity.

Anyone would think from what you indicate, that South Africa is a paragon of virtue now, and that it is a safe place to live, and everyone is at peace and loves each other....whereas I believe the facts speak rather differently.

As far as America is concerned, as long as it aligns itself to being allies with Israel-then our nation will be blessed. If we are like the others who chose to curse Israel-then they will be cursed. We are instructed by the word of God to bless Israel and not curse it-there will be consiquences to the arab world for any of those nations who align themselves against Israel.

Has America done all that it should for Israel-No-Has it made mistakes-Yes.

No matter what Terrorists bring to American soil- If we are saved-we will receive everlasting Joy with our Savior. These Terrorists- explode themselves for just a moment to receive-everlasting damnation. So where I may be absent of the body-I will be present with the Lord. The Muslim radicals want a Muslim world govenred by Sharia law. They have made that clear. This was thw mandate handed down by their leader Mohammed. He converted with the sword. His followers still do. The are told to kill the infidels. . They use poverty as a means to add myrters to their ranks. The best hope is for a democracy to take hold in the heart of the middle-east. I have my doubts this will take place because aside from the US, England and a few other Nations, the rest of the free worls is blind to the threat. They have a Sept. 10 th 2001 mindset. They do nothing but whine and complain about Bush and America. Many say that Bush is the terrorists. How profoundly stupid and foolish! The rest of the world will benefit by the young brave soldiers who are trying to make this change. If we all stood together, it would be much easier to put down this devilish ideaolgy that threatens the free world. Too bad.
