Come on you people, I know it's hard, but try to remember the "absent minded" things that you did. You don't have to remember when you actually did them though.

In the supermarket where I used to work our manager had a marvellous saying, it was his excuse for everything. If somebody might say to him, something like: "I asked you ...... days ago ..... and you said ...." he'd say "I forgot, when you get old like me you forget things". The funny part about that is that he was only 32.

I don't usually admit odd things that I do, but yesterday was a "doozie". I stopped to get some petrol, and not only did I not hand up the nozzle on the pump correctly afterwards, necessitating the worker at the petrol station setting it in the right place so that he could read the amount that it cost, but I realised that when I got home the lid petrol tank lid thing on the car was open and the cap missing. The stupid thing is that I had heard what I thought was something falling from the roof about a mile away from home so I walked along the road looking for the cap. I couldn't find it so I had to sheepishly go back to the petrol station to get another one.

This is more common than I thought. They had a box full of petrol caps and the guy said "yes people are always leaving the petrol caps behind" so he just gave me another one. Now hopefully nobody will notice.

Actually my mind is fine its the fact that my body just won't do what it used to any more that drives me crazy. For instance the phone rings and I jump up out of my chair to answer it and I am halfway across the room before my body is completely upright. My right knee squeeks, yes squeeks! whenI am walking upstairs. I used to could do splits, cartwheels, and hand stands and was telling my daughter so about 2 weeks ago,she wanted me to try a split.Guess what? :taped: I fell going down steps of my back porch several days ago and the ground seemed to be a lot harder that it used to be.I was sore for 3 days. :)And I am only 46

I'm having trouble remembering simple words like------

I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

I'm sure they are making adults much younger these days, and when did they let kids become policemen?

I'm wondering, if you're only as old as you feel, how could I be alive at 150?

Yes, I'm a Senior Citizen and I think I am having the time of my life!java script:emoticon(':)', 'smid_18')

:taped::cool:

Now why was I here again? Oh yeah something about my friend Methuselah....darn it I forgot his birthday again - Oh well send him a card next...........why am I here again ;):noidea::blink::laugh:

 I just came across this "Senility Prayer"

God, grant me the senility

To forget the people

I never liked anyway,

The good fortune

To run into the ones I do,

And the eyesight

To tell the difference.

LOL :)

Just read all that thread and enjoyed a good chuckle. Haven't laughed so much since I saw the first Charlie Chaplain movie. Even my back is too old to go out. haaah. All jokes aside, I'll be 84 this year, and you may laugh at this, but I reckon I'll still be around when old Gabe blows that last trumpet. Aging ai'nt bad if you have positive thoughts and you know that God cares for you. When you put your hand to the plow, don't look back and you will cut a straight furrow.

An elderly gentleman was telling his friend about a new restaurant he and his wife recently visited.

"The food and service were great!" he said.

His friend asked, "What's the name of the place?"

"Gee, I don't remember," he said, "What do you call the long stemmed flower people give on special occasions?"

"You mean a rose?" asked his friend.

"That's it!" he exclaimed and turning to his wife, asked, "Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to the other day?"

And another:

While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my four-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds. She was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age, particularly the canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.

One day, I found her staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, "The tooth fairy will never believe this!"

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
