Views on cremation?

Ive told my hubby to just toss me out in the desert lol. I find the thought of being embalmed repulsive. I like the idea of naturally deteriorating into the ground, dust to dust. No cremation for me either.

We cremated my dad.

He was in the wholesale bread and bun baking business (like Earthgrains Bread and such). I kidded with my siblings that we should take his ashes, bake them in a loaf of bread, and feed it to the seagulls on South Padre Island (which was his favorite vacation spot we were growing up).

Only one of my five brothers and sisters thought that was amusing. I was semi-serious. At least cast his ashes off the the fishing jetty's we spent so much time on down there.

Instead, dads ashes are sitting on my brother's mantle.

I've got to say that I'm for cremation but because of where I live it is just as expensive to be cremated as to be buried.

So I'd better start saving eh.

You could donate your body to science (i.e. medical school) - it's free.

That's what I'm doing. My father did, too. I figure maybe someone can get some use out of this decrepit body.

I don't really have strong feelings either way..I want to be buried...I am an organ donor, so my organs will go to that....

I can't stand the thought though of a dead person's ashes being in the house with me...I mean I know there are no ghosts or anything like that...it is just that well..t.he thought kinda creeps me out

I want my ashes sprinkled on our favorite vacation spot. That way the kids will always come to see me!

wel my best friend who i have known since 18 yrs old passed away in jan and she died due to cancer and in her will she stated that she wanted to be cremated instead of burried and this is what she asked for both lovly christian people and i am on the same line as my friend as it says in gods word we are to get given a new body as our old one is no use in heaven at all

i am also rejisterd as a dooner of my organs so each to there own view in respect on this subject
