Once again, in all cases like that, i look for a purpose. Y'know? What was the purpose of that apparition. If there's no apparent purpose, perhaps it was all in the head. Same for possessed people. What's the purpose?

We like to complicate things. It is very straight forward, Satan hates God. Satan wants to take as many people away from believing in God as possible. Satan is not called the master of lies and deceit for nothing. Satan has many tricks, traps and weapons to use against not only Christians but the rest of the world.

One such weapon is to fool people into believing things that are specifically against God and contradict the Bible etc. Belief in an afterlife other than the one described is one such lie. People see ghosts and really think that it is the soul of a dead person.

If you believe this then you will be drawn into Satans embrace. Many people end up rejecting God because they want to believe a different nice version of the afterlife, they want to believe that their dearly departed is actually visiting them, or somehow able to stand watch over them, or that the soul has a choice not to go into heaven or hell etc.

This in turn encourages people to go to mediums, hold s

when people see something they don't understand, they call it a ghost. simple as that, imo. it is a made-up term that could mean anything. a wind, a patch of fog, a real glimpse into the spiritual world or a demon.

That's true. A lot of people think that. >_<

Okay!

My mom says she saw a silhouette of a lady in one of our houses. Just a misty something or other, but enough to resemble a woman.

What does it mean? Ghost? Demon? Imagination?

i'm blessed with 7 aunts and uncles (all on my mom's side) and every single one of them say they've seen lots of various things. don't get me wrong - i don't disbelieve them. if you want me to be perfectly honest, i really don't have any curiosity about it. as i said, i believe people may see things they call 'ghosts'. as to what they are, i'm just glad that i don't know!

I had some really strange things happen to me after Eric died, things that I can't explain. I finally decided that what ever it was, I was just gonna believe in the Lord and ignore them, except to pray about them. I also quit telling people the stories for pretty much the same reason Jade gave. People were looking at it as proof of life after death, instead of a life in Christ.

i stand with you on this issue. + i feel like that when people get obsessed about this issue (see all the tv shows about the subject), it's one more proof of God. obviously, we are programmed to know that there is more than just this earthly life. once we find the Truth, all this other stuff is just a poor fake. why look at the knock-offs when you've already got the rolex?

Dont be fooled by ghosts. They are demons. They have a purpose to deceive people into a false conception of the afterlife. Their purpose is to lead people away from the Lord.

AyinJade, this story sent cold chills up my spine and back down again. I believe that 'ghosts' are really demons also. I also truly believe that, if I ever see one, someone will be repairing a Glory-sized hole in the nearest wall after I make my exit! :emot-questioned:

I agree with this point Ayin Jade has made.

Demons are out to confuse divide and destroy us in any way they can. They lie and they know a lot which can confuse us into thinking things that are not of God are. Thats why there are cults witches clairvoyants etc out there.

Be careful it must line up with the word of God.

There are some things that God will never reveal until we get to heaven some things we just have to trust Him in.

be blessed.

The biggest problem with this notion, is that I have never seen it taught in the Bible. The Bible indicates that when a person dies, they immediately go to heaven or hell. There is some reason to believe that the idea of ghosts existed back to Bible days. When Jesus came walking on the sea, the disciples immediate reaction was fear, as they said, "...It is a spirit; and cried out for fear," Matthew 14:26.

I have a question about this....the Bible tell us in Revelation that 'the dead will rise first'. If they are already in Heaven (or hell) why would they need to rise? Or must they rise to obtain their immortal bodies? I am not yet knowledgeable enough of Scripture to understand this.

I agree. Why come back to get this decrepid body just to have it changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye? And why would they need to get this body if they are in hell, where they won't get a new body?

Does anyone know the answer to this?

Ok I was watching this silly show on tv about demons and ghost. What is the diffrence arn't the same thing, they even had a demonoligist ok is that um a demon ghost buster.

in july 1958 my favorite uncle was killed in a construction accident. i was 17 at the time. helived for five hours after the accident. my family tried to contact me, but i was with my future wife and her dad fishing.

when i learned of his death that night i was really upset, that i did not get to tell him good bye.

on the night after the burial i was sleeping in the back yard, july nights were hot and humid, it was very hot in our house. i went into a deep sleep. this is when my uncle came to me . i was crying and he told me he was in a wonderful place and for me not to cry. i said i did not get to tell you good bye. he responed this was our good bye. he then said he had to go and touched me on my left cheek. his hand was cold. i awoke and sat on the side of my cot. i felt so peaceful. was it just a dream? one more thing the side of my face where my uncle touched me was ice cold.

my uncle was a born again christian i can assure you he was not a demon. jp

Then he is in heaven and not here momentarily as a ghost. It was likely a dream and nothing more.

Noone said that our loved ones passed on are demons. Demons impersonate our loved ones, Christian or not.

I want to add: I have heard of demons impersonating people who have been missing for a very long time and were presumed dead, but later that person was found alive.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
