There was something on tv once that if house is renevated. that it disturbes spirits. It was on recently. I'm renevating my house I didn't get any spirits.

1. in what way are you renovating?

most people incorrectly identify remodeling with renovating.... remodeling is surface only( mostly paint and paper), renovating goes all the way to bones of the house (insulating, wiring, plumbing, heat and air, and wood replacement as needed to bring upto date).

2. are you disappointed that you did not release any spirits?

a person who plays with fire will get burned (some time or other)... if a person plays with the common spirits, they will have them hanging around them.... I know of a person that has at least one spirit in their house, this person says it is not an evil spirit, but it is not an angel ( excuse me? not good or bad? ) they have even seen this spirit. this house hold claims to be Christian but the fruit of their life does not match that of a Christian.....

I have renovated this house and as I renovated it, it has been anointed and prayed over each room as we work in it and finish it...... sorry, no spirits here, only the Holy Spirit......

now, if a family is not with God, and they start in on a large project such as this, especially while they live in the house during the work period, it can put a very heavy strain on those in the house it is also a very expensive task, depending on who is doing the work..... if you bring outside workers in, they can bring spirits with them........

oh yea...

just like in the old Dracula movie, he was unable to come into your house, come past your threshhold with out being invited in...... spirits are also like that, if you have Christ, demons can not come in, unless you invite them, and if you do, you are in all essence telling Christ, that he is over staying His welcome.... Christ, being the Gentleman, will excuse Himself until you choose not to have them other jokers hanging around.....

it is kind of like uuuumm, good manners.... if you were visiting some one, and while you were there some one else shows up uninvited and they are welcomed in and they do not know you or you them, and the host starts paying more attention to them then you and you were the invited guest, you would start getting uneasy and probably leave.....

Why does it happen and how.

The interest in ghosts, mediumship and paranormal has been growing rapidly over the years, just look how many programmes on TV there are devoted to the subject, not to mention internet, A main stream charity is even doing a fund raising event where you spend a night in a haunted house etc. People want to beleive in an afterlife but they do not accept the truth, like we all do.

It is Satans job to take many people as possible away from God and the truth. One way to do this is to fuel peoples imaginations about an afterlife that exists totally different from what really happens. having demons appear as apparitions and ghosts is one such way to do this. IN other cultures the demons can simply really appear as themselves or something hideous too do with the occult based belief systems. but thats another topic.

So any ghost or strange apparition you see is going to be demonic, however to many people it will be the genuine soul of a dead person wondering around. Quite interstingly a large number of ghosts reportedly seen are of priests, monks and nuns etc. It is again a ploy of Satan to say to people well if you are seeing a ghost of a priest or monk then obviously what they believed in is false.

Then of course once you get an interest in these dead people wondering around then you are going to want to try and communicate with them, this is were satan hopes you will start doing seance and go to mediums and get involved in spiritualism movement. "But mediums are frauds" I hear you saying, well yes that is true to some extent, but many are genuine.

It is easy to do what skeptics call cold reading, many of these so called mediums who claim they can speak with the dead will use a number of tactics and probability to gain information from an audience and a person , such as saying "i am getting a name its like tim, jim, sim, tim, ted, fred " etc and sometimes they can real off dozens of names quickly and then someone in audience will say "oh my grandfather was called jack", quite often the medium has not even said this name. Then a lot of questions are asked by the fraud from which a detailed picture can be created of the dead person.

However there are a number of mediums who are influenced and even possessed by demons. They dont have any power or gift , instead demons put thoughts into thier mind, basically the mediums demons talk to demons who turn up with the audience etc they give the mediums demons info , and in turn the demons put these thoughts in to the mediums head. However people fall for this hook line and sinker and get involved with something that is created by Satan, they will are lost to GOd simply because they thought their dear loved ones were trying to talk to them beyond the grave.

We should not be scared of these things, we have the power over them in Christ. Once we understand and accept The Lord into our lives, it becomes glaringly obvious how Satan works and we can see through the lies, including knowing that Ghosts etc are demons in disguise.

Imo I think it's to do with the fact that thiers (spirits), is an insecure existance and they may be tormented by "life's faith" which expresses in everyday trivialities such as renovating, cleaning etc., being of a different nature and with different constraints.

Some of the above posts were right to deny the matter substance for not being in the Bible. We sometime too much indulge in mystical curiosity which mayn't otherwise have been an issue.

i have not experianced this as i have helped renovate houses and i am about to renovate the new church my partner has just planted in her country though i can tel you she kicked out some bad spirits as the church was not in use for over 5yrs before she took on the role as i was told it was haunted but i did not feel anything i only felt the haunting of the holy ghost

though in the university i use to clean sevral buildings were haunted one building alone brought the chills and your back hair stood at atention no cleaner was brave enough to clean this building every cleaner that thought they were brave only made it to the lift and felt this cold come over them and would bolt out side and ring my night manager up on the ph teling him he can clean the building him self

i am a tuff guy my self but i only made it half way i was on the first floor and felt like some thing or some one was behind me as a door would open suddenly and slam real hard i thought to my self i must be loosing it or just lack of sleep and my mind playing tricks on me i kept walking and its as if some one touched me on the shoulder this sent the chills down my spine i just simply walked down the stairs

i use to work in the security industry and i patroled some old run down buildings and thought i could handle anything that was thrown at me

after sevral attemps of trying to get a cleanner who was brave enough to clean this building my boss did the smart thing and told the head of uni and they got one of the prophesors who was experianced to do some testing he spent a week in the building by him self and it was a poltergist if its spelt right demon in other words as you saw buckets moving by them selves with out any one in full view then you saw the mop just gliding in the air and he heard the same thing we all heard and he felt that chill down his spine as he said sevral doors slamed at difrent hours of the morning real hard

and if any one asks no we did not get a priest to do exorsisem on the building

so demons do haunt houses

Certain spirits lay claim to the house and want it to remain the way it had been. If they are not pleased they let you know. But every new house should be anointed with oil and prayed through. What I mean by new is if you are a new tenant. They should not be there anyway.

What in the Sam hill are you talking about here, that every house that has not been prayed through and anointed will have spririts that will be tormenting the new owners? Also, what kind of spirits do you believe are dwelling in people's homes? Do you believe they are the ghosts of the former owners, or demonic spirits? And, if you believe they are demonic spirits, for what cause did they lay claim to the house?

Spirits care about our souls not our homes.

There are two types of Spirit beings on the earth, angels and demons. The Holy Spirit is God and is inside of us, all Spirits bow to this Spirit, thus we have nothing to fear. However that does not mean we will not naturally fear the devil and his minions which inhabit the earth. Frankly I would wish that the only way the devil could get to me was directly through some sort of spooky demon, scary yes but I could handle that through faith and knowledge. Unfortunately most demons work through my own desires and tempt me through a multitude of sin and earthly pleasures which scripture says we must resist with the help of the Holy Spirit. The main work of demons though is to put doubt and fear into our hearts, the one thing that they cannot overcome the one thing that Satan does not understand nor can defeat is Christian Faith. We have nothing to fear from these filthy spirit beings they will all be caste into the lake of fire and are hopping to find more to take with them like rats fleeing a ship.

That is so true that spirits do care about our souls and not our homes. You can see that even when you look at the armour of God as it is given to us in the Word of God and it is not given to our houses to put on in order to protect themselves in the spiritual battle but instead the armor of God was given to us. they do not care about our souls? They want to drag us to hell with them in any which wat they can. They worry about the soul regeneration of a christian and will stop it as wellas try to keep your heart from Jesus.. It is their Job until Judgement day.

Lol it is true that we have enough battle with our flesh..but their are principalities wickedness to contend with.
