  1. I woke in the wee hours with this old hymn on my mind. On a hill far away, stood an old rugged Cross The emblem of suff'ring and shame And I love that old Cross where the dearest and best For a world of lost sinners was slain So I'll cherish the old rugged Cross Till my trophies at last I lay down I will cling to the old rugged Cross And exchange it some day for a crown Oh, that old rugged Cross so despised by the world Has a wondrous attraction for me For the dear Lamb of God, left his Glory above To bear it to dark Calvary So I'll cherish the old rugged Cross Till my trophies at last I lay down I will cling to the old rugged Cross And exchange it some day for a crown In the old rugged Cross, stain'd with blood so divine A wondrous beauty I see For the dear Lamb of God, left his Glory above To pardon and sanctify me So I'll cherish the old rugged Cross Till my trophies at last I lay down I will cling to the old rugged Cross And exchange it some day for a crown To the old rugged Cross, I will ever be true Its shame and reproach gladly bear Then He'll call me some day to my home far away Where his glory forever I'll share So I'll cherish the old rugged Cross Till my trophies at last I lay down I will cling to the old rugged Cross And exchange it some day for a crown

  2. Pauls letters spend a lot of time showing the early churches what they were doing wrong. Some churches, who don't listen to his teachings, are still doing it wrong and that is why I think it's important.

  4. I've become more aware that various ones would like to dismiss Paul the apostle and discredit his writings. Paul is the most prolific writer of the New Testament if number of epistles are counted (Luke actually writes more by volume via gospel of Luke and Acts). By far, Paul addresses more topics and issues than any other writer of the NT. And all those topics he covers brings him under fire, as he touches a lot of nerves, including: >Drunkenness >Homosexuality >Husband/Wife relations >Men & woman's roles >Other sexual moralities >Not stumbling others with certain practices, etc. And Paul also conveys some of the highest vision (which some also object to): >The ekklesia as the body of Christ (this is unique to Paul) >Flesh vs. spirit >Freedom in Christ vs legalism >Indwelling Christ Bottom-line to me is the Lord has used Paul's writings to speak to me for decades, therefore I have no doubt he is a legitimate apostle (plus Peter confirms in 2 Pet 3:15-16), speaking some very high vision, but also a multitude of practical things in our pursuit of Christ. Are there other reasons Paul is disparaged by some that I've not listed? What are your thought on this?

  6. Psalms 3:1-8 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; 2 many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah 3 But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. 4 I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah 5 I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me. 6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. 7 Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. 8 Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah David wrote Psalm 3 while running for his life — betrayed, heartbroken, and hunted by his own son, Absalom. The weight of rebellion wasn’t just political; it was personal. His household had turned against him. Friends became foes. Loyal hearts grew cold. The throne he once held was now surrounded by enemies, and the whispers grew louder: “There is no salvation for him in God.” (Psalm 3:2) But David didn’t answer his enemies — he answered with worship. “But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.” (Psalm 3:3) In the midst of collapse, David turned his eyes upward. When everything else was falling apart, he clung to the truth that God had not. The Lord was his shield — not just ahead of him, but around him, covering the blind spots, the unseen threats. When others stripped away his dignity, God became his glory. When grief bowed his head low, God lifted it again. David didn’t just endure—he rested. “I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.” (Psalm 3:5) That single verse speaks volumes. David didn’t sleep because the danger was gone—he slept because his trust was anchored in the God who never sleeps. Surrounded by betrayal and hunted in the dark, he laid his head down in faith, not fear. And when morning came, breath still in his lungs, it was proof: God was still writing his story. And because of that, he faced the day unshaken. “I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.” (Psalms 3:6) The odds didn’t matter anymore. God was with him. The same voice that silenced storms now steadied his heart. “Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God!” (Psalm 3:7) David called out — not in panic, but in confidence. He had seen what God could do. He knew the One who breaks the power of the wicked and silences every mocking mouth. And then he makes a bold declaration that echoes across generations: “Salvation belongs to the LORD; Your blessing be on Your people.” (Psalm 3:8) This isn’t just David’s testimony — it’s the battle cry of every believer who’s ever stood in the fire and refused to bow. When betrayal breaks your heart, when fear grips your chest, when the enemy hisses, “You’re finished” — lift your eyes. The same God who shielded David surrounds you now. He is your defender. He is your honor when shame tries to stain you. He is the hand that lifts your head when the weight of life pulls it down. Your rescue doesn’t come from strategy or strength, from plans or performance. Salvation is God’s alone — and He’s never lost a battle. His blessing isn’t fragile. It doesn’t vanish in the storm. It rests still — on those who trust Him. Selah. Let that truth thunder through your soul while the battle rages on! View the full article

  8. I see Paul's writings as having some of the best explanations of this new life of Christ in us, our "treasure in earthen vessels." And he is the only who speaks of Christ and the church in such a way as is revealed in books like Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians and Galatians. The union of Christ within us, and the manifestation of Him through us, is something Paul really zeros in on - both on the spiritual and on the practical sides. If we had to, I think could get by without Peter or John's writings (I would certainly miss those though!). But if Paul's epistles were removed I think there would be a huge part missing, concerning the revelation of what Christ is doing in and through us!

I am suprise they got shut down hey sign of the times they may come back next year American Jihadists Target Pro-Israel Summit in Texas, Forcing Shutdown DALLAS, Texas – One of the largest pro-Israel events planned for 2025 has been indefinitely postponed, after escalating terror threats left organizers without a secure venue just days before it was set to begin. The Israel Summit — expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees from across the U.S. and via livestream has become the latest casualty of rising hostility toward public support for Israel in the United States. This year’s speaker lineup included Israeli Knesset members, former U.S. Ambassador David Friedman, former members of Congress, prominent media figures, rabbis, IDF veterans, and survivors of the October 7th Hamas massacre. Organizers had already been forced to relocate the Summit once, after the original venue in Dallas became unfeasible due to increased threat levels and an overwhelming security burden, with estimated costs in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. When it became clear that adequate protection could not be ensured, the decision was made to withdraw. https://cbn.com/news/israel/american-jihadists-target-pro-israel-summit-texas-forcing-shutdown

  16. Are we his temple? Is it literal? When Jesus tabernacled among us, was it literal? Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Is our earthly tabernacle literal? 2Co 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2Co 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 2Pe 1:13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; 2Pe 1:14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. The feast 1 Cor 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: {is sacrificed: or, is slain } 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Cor 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. {in … : or, for a remembrance } 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. {ye do … : or, shew ye } 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

Also, taking the separation reasoning to an extreme has some people saying Paul preached a different gospel from Jesus and the twelve, and therefore he wasn't legit.

  25. I disagree on one point--or perhaps to further clarify by commenting. I think it is a mistake so refer to a 'spirit body'. Spirit is breath and in this case is the breath of Life. A specific Life--Christ. Christ's resurrection body was flesh and bone. No need any longer for the blood. In a natural man the life is in the blood. In the resurrected bodies our Life is Christ--which becomes the completion of what we are sealed for. It is also clear that we will have additional capabilities although scripture (that I am aware of) only mentions one. Christ could walk through walls--somehow. Corruption will put on incorruption. An incorruptible body. I do not think this hermeneutic is simply splitting hairs. Consider it.

  26. By Nations, I suspect you mean Man. This is not a quick answer, but I will try to make it short! God put man in the garden of Eden and there were two trees. We know what their choice was, but most don’t consider the purpose of eating from the other tree, the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life is not just a title, it was suppose to do something. Just like the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil did something-lead to death. Well the Tree of Life lead to life when eaten from. In Genesis God said man had to be put out of the garden, after he became corrupted, UNLESS, he eats from the Tree of Life - and live forever. So, that tells us that corrupted or not, eating from the Tree of Life would have caused man to live forever. Why? Because God was creating children like Him. Man’s body is flesh, and it was the tree of life, if eaten from, that would change man from flesh to spirit, that is a spirit body that could not die - for example, like what a seed does when planted in the ground. You have the seed first, in a different body, that produces another body, that is, beautified flowers. It’s what’s produced from the seed that’s more glorious. 1 Corinthians explains this process: 1 Corinthians 15:36-38 KJV, 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. This process is what the Tree of Life would have produced, without death, if man hadn’t eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 1 Corinthians 15:51 KJV Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 1 Corinthians 15:46 KJV Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. So, now due to man becoming corrupted, if we are without God’s incorruptible seed, the Holy Spirit, that man will be raised from the dead still corrupted in a body where they will live forever - flesh is now spirit. So, due to that corruption, they cannot enter the Kingdom of heaven, they must be destroyed. But, only those who have the Spirit, will be raised incorrupted, and live forever in the kingdom with Christ. Israel: God choosing Israel is based on His salvation plan to redeem man, and Israel was a representation of the one who could save us, Christ Jesus. God first established His choosing of his saints through the promise He made to Abraham, then He made the separation between the law and the promise through Issac, then He established predestination through Jacob and Esau, and chose Jacob, thereby changing His name to Israel, and established the 12 tribes of Israel- until the seed comes - Jesus Christ. The body of Christ: Redemption is in Christ, and those who belong to Him are joined by His Spirit. If a person does not have this Spirit, like mentioned above, their resurrection will result in a body that’s still corrupted. But those in Christ, their resurrection will result in incorruption, because they possess Christ Spirit that is life. So, because Christ, through His Spirit, lives in all true believers, they are the Body of Christ - they can be saved because they are joined to Christ by His body. Romans 8:9-11 KJV 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. It is so much more - it will take a lot of time to go over all the related scriptures to your question. But good question!

(Gen. 10: 32) And many of those in the nations will turn to God and be those of the nations who are saved on the New earth. (Rev. 21: 24) And yes, Israel is God`s nation called out of the other nations. God will still fulfill His purpose for them as rulers over the nations. (1 Kings 2: 45) Finally, as you said the Body of Christ is separated from the rest of humanity, called out of the nations and Israel. Our special purpose will be fulfilled when we are caught up to the Lord and taken to His very own throne in glory. (Rev. 3: 21) Glad you also know that this planet is not your home. I believe that too.

  35. I had those thoughts myself my first time through the Bible. Was his contribution needed? Jesus said everything he needed to say. He made things very clear, then Paul was all about the church which is corrupted by man. The church that has veered away from what the Bible originally taught. What I keep going back to is I don't believe God would allow that deception in the Bible. He couldn't possibly allow people to trust in Paul if he was going against God. Then there were all of the sacrifices Paul made to spread the Gospel. Being beaten, jailed, shipwrecked. I don't doubt it anymore.

  38. BOULDER, CO (Worthy Satire) – In a tragic yet utterly confusing event for major news outlets, a man reportedly screaming “Palestine is free!” while attacking a Jewish-owned café in Boulder has left mainstream journalists scratching their heads in collective bewilderment as to what could have possibly motivated the assault. CNN quickly released a breaking news headline: “Motives Unclear in Local Incident; Experts Eye Climate Change, Housing Crisis, and Mercury Retrograde.” “We may never know what truly inspired this act,” said one MSNBC analyst solemnly, while standing in front of the vandalized menorah. “The attacker’s passionate yelling about Palestine and targeting of a kosher café could have been symbolic… or just a coincidence. Let’s not jump to conclusions.” New York Times columnist Wokeisha Atwood suggested the man may have been expressing “legitimate grievances about hummus appropriation” or possibly reacting to “microaggressions stemming from Zionist bagel dominance in the deli space.” Meanwhile, social media erupted in debate, with trending hashtags like #ThoughtsAndPrayersButNoSpeculation, #FreePalestineMeansDifferentThingsToDifferentPeople, and #ProbablyJustStressedOut. FBI officials confirmed they were investigating the incident as “a complex event possibly linked to extreme hunger, caffeine withdrawal, or misplaced rage at geopolitical maps.” When asked if the repeated shouts of “Death to Israel” could indicate motive, a spokesperson for NPR replied, “We don’t want to impose Western interpretations on a culturally expressive moment. This could have been performance art.” As of press time, newsrooms are still trying to identify a motive for the attack. 40. Hi @Excalibur Here on Worthy Christian Forums there is room for some degree of emotive discussion on a variety of topics, but as WilliamL has rightly pointed out, (unless quoting Scripture), it is necessary to address the validity of arguments based on their content without bias as to their exponents. There are several passages in the Bible that mention the Antichrist and indicate that the spirit of the Antichrist is already present in the world. Here are a few key verses: 1 John 2:18 – "Children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared. This is how we know it is the last hour." 1 John 4:3 – "Every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." 2 John 1:7 – "For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist." These verses suggest that the Antichrist is not just a singular future figure but that there are many who embody the spirit of deception and opposition to Christ. The cumulative effect of this is depicted in Revelation 13, and foretold in 2 Thessalonians 2.

  41. Ultimately, God wants a unique specific kind of people that is different from everyone else. After Noah and the Nations was established [Deuteronomy 32] 8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. 9 But the Lord's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage. ...God set apart a people that had its own Laws and Diet that separated them from the rest of humanity. Look at Christianity, those who truly follow Yeshua are separated from the rest of humanity like the Hebrews were. God's intention was to have a People that is separated from everyone else. That's as simple as it gets for why God created the Nations, Israel, and Christians. I am a Peculiar Person. I am separated from the lost because of God. I live on planet earth but it isn't my home.

Let the one who does wrong still do wrong, and the one who is filthy still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous still practice righteousness, and the one who is holy still keep himself holy.” (Revelation 22:10-11 NASB) The Lord has given men and the nations of this earth over to wickedness and lust, thus "...Let the one who does wrong still do wrong, and the one who is still filthy be filthy...".

  43. There's no confusion regarding the matter. The question you pose has already been answered: His purpose for Israel is fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Israel and the Body are one. Why fixate upon the nations of men? Are they not deceived by the accuser? They are indeed, for the accuser weakened the nations of men long ago. As for those of us who belong to the Lord, we concern ourselves with our purpose in Him. Have a blessed day, my friend.

  44. The study of Biblical Typology can be divided into several subsections, each focusing on different aspects of how Old Testament figures, events, and symbols foreshadow New Testament realities. Here are some key subsections: 1. Typology of People Adam as a Type of Christ (Romans 5:14) – Adam’s disobedience brought sin, while Christ’s obedience brings salvation. Moses as a Type of Christ – A deliverer leading people from bondage. David as a Type of Christ – A king ruling with righteousness. 2. Typology of Events The Exodus as a Type of Salvation – Israel’s deliverance from Egypt parallels believers’ deliverance from sin. The Flood and Baptism (1 Peter 3:20-21) – Noah’s ark as a symbol of salvation through water. The Passover and Christ’s Sacrifice – The blood of the lamb protecting Israel foreshadows Jesus as the Lamb of God. 3. Typology of Objects & Symbols The Tabernacle as a Type of Christ – God’s dwelling among His people. The Bronze Serpent and the Cross (John 3:14) – Healing through faith. Manna as a Type of Christ (John 6:31-35) – Jesus as the Bread of Life. 4. Typology of Covenants The Old Covenant vs. The New Covenant – Law vs. Grace. Circumcision as a Type of Spiritual Renewal (Romans 2:29) – A heart transformed by faith. 5. Typology in Prophecy Jonah as a Type of Christ’s Resurrection (Matthew 12:40) – Three days in the belly of the fish vs. three days in the tomb. Melchizedek as a Type of Christ’s Priesthood (Hebrews 7:1-3) – A priest without genealogy.

  46. For what it is worth..... this is a carve out from my recent commentary (still in progress) for Revelation. Revelation 13:18 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. This verse serves as both a warning and a challenge, calling for deep spiritual discernment. The number 666 carries immense symbolic meaning, pointing to the beast’s counterfeit system and its attempt to subvert God’s authority. By examining its biblical, historical, and spiritual significance, we can uncover its deeper message and implications for humanity. The verse begins with a call to wisdom: "Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast." This phrase signals that the meaning of 666 is not immediately obvious; it requires spiritual insight and careful reflection, guided by the Holy Spirit. Wisdom in Scripture is often associated with reverence for God and obedience to His Word (Proverbs 9:10). Here, the wisdom called for is a discernment of spiritual truths, distinguishing God’s kingdom from the counterfeit system established by the beast. The text identifies 666 as "the number of a man," emphasizing the human-centered nature of the beast’s authority. This phrase draws attention to the imperfection and incompleteness of humanity apart from God. In Scripture, the number 6 often symbolizes human limitation, as man was created on the sixth day (Genesis 1:26-31). The repetition of 6 three times—666—intensifies this symbolism, representing the ultimate expression of human-centered rebellion against God. This rebellion is epitomized in the beast’s system, which elevates human authority and traditions above God’s sovereignty. The papacy, as the one sitting atop the sea beast, exemplifies this through its claims of divine authority, such as the title "Vicar of Christ" and the doctrine of papal infallibility. These claims position human leaders in a role meant only for Christ, fulfilling the blasphemous nature of the beast described in Revelation 13:1-6. The structure of 666 reveals the beast’s attempt to counterfeit the divine Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In this unholy trinity: 1. The Dragon (Satan) counterfeits the Father by giving power and authority to the sea beast (Revelation 13:2, 13:4). Just as the Father is the source of all divine authority, the dragon seeks to position himself as the ultimate ruler. 2. The Sea Beast (Papacy) counterfeits the Son by claiming to be the head of the Church and a mediator between God and humanity. Titles like "Vicar of Christ" mimic Christ’s role as Savior and Mediator, but with a focus on human authority. 3. The Earth Beast (Jesuits) counterfeits the Holy Spirit by promoting and enforcing the sea beast’s authority, performing signs and wonders to deceive humanity (Revelation 13:13-14). Just as the Holy Spirit glorifies Christ, the earth beast glorifies the papacy, spreading its influence worldwide. This interpretation reflects the same approach God uses throughout Revelation: dividing events, symbols, and systems into their many facets to reveal their depth and purpose. Just as He breaks out the 7 churches, 7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 bowls, and even the 4 horsemen into distinct parts to illustrate their completeness and diversity, here He breaks out the number 6, repeated threefold, to highlight the various levels of failure and rebellion inherent in the beast’s system. Each "6" in 666 signifies a specific failure. In addition to symbolizing the unholy trinity, 666 represents the beast’s practical methods of control and deception: 1. Individual Level (6): The mark associated with 666 (Revelation 13:16) demands personal allegiance in thought (forehead) and action (hand). Individuals are compelled to align their beliefs and deeds with the beast’s counterfeit system, replacing devotion to God with submission to human authority. 2. Institutional Level (60): The beast establishes societal structures, such as Sunday worship, indulgences, and sacramental rituals, to enforce conformity. These practices supplant God’s commandments with human traditions, creating a system of control. 3. Universal Level (600): The beast’s influence extends globally, uniting nations under its counterfeit gospel. The Vatican’s historical role as a global religious and political power illustrates this level of control. Also, in Greek, 666 is written as χξς (chi, xi, stigma). The combination of these letters may reinforces the threefold failure of humanity (individual, societal, and global) and the imperfection of the beast’s system. · Chi (600): Symbolically, the number 600 may represent global or universal systems of rebellion. It reflects a large-scale operation, such as an empire or ideology, that seeks to dominate humanity. In Revelation, this could point to the overarching systemic nature of evil that spans generations and seeks to impose control over all aspects of life, opposing God's authority. · Xi (60): The number 60 often points to institutional structures or societal conformity. This could represent the tools and systems the beast uses to enforce its power and authority—whether religious, political, or economic institutions designed to replace God's truth with human-centered ideologies. It’s the level at which the beast builds its influence through cultural and societal norms. · Stigma (6): The number 6 emphasizes the individual level of rebellion and imperfection. It symbolizes the personal allegiance and choices people make when aligning themselves with the beast instead of God. "Stigma" also has historical implications, as it can refer to a mark or branding, which aligns with the "mark of the beast" imagery in Revelation.

  48. I am so sure that Euporia is the name of the beast that I even bet my own life on it. Yes, with conviction I say: If Euporia is not the name of the beast then God shall send me to hell. Euporia is the name of the beast. Euporia is 666.
