  1. It's a beautiful song, but, sad to say, many years ago Ray Boltz left his wife and family to go live with his gay lover. I'm not kidding. When it happened it made waves throughout the whole Christian music ministry and devastated a lot of his fans. I can never listen to it again.
  2. It's getting harder and harder to find a church--ANY church--that will preach the unadulterated gospel. I lay that squarely at the feet of corrupt denominations and heretic "pastors." I think when death arrives it's going to catch a heartbreaking number of people dumbstruck, flatfooted, and hellbound.
  3. College kids, welfare bums, and fiscal idiots ("Hey, free stuff!!!") will vote for him ... and in 2020, there may be just enough of them to get him in. At that point the rest of us can start a "countdown to Venezuela-style implosion" pool on how many remaining months the US has left ... and don't think it couldn't happen. Satan is rubbing his hands with glee at the prospect.
  4. You can rest assured that the Dems/liberals will put forth whatever candidate is the most vehement about hating God and His Word. If President Trump wants to run again in 2020, I'll vote for him. If not, I'll try to find a candidate that most closely aligns with my views.
  5. And another poster I've blocked. God have mercy, hearts have grown hard in these final hours ...
  6. The Social Security system is based on quarters paid in; 40 quarters=10 years. At that time you're vested. You can start drawing reduced benefits at age 62, but you don't get full benefits until you hit your target age (based on the month and year you were born), which for me was 66. I turned that age last May (my wife turned 66 in December), and since then we've both been drawing full benefits. Comes in handy!
  7. I'm waiting for the couple of Democrats who regularly post here on Worthy to give us their thoughts on this abomination, because their horrific party owns it. Owns it. I have the feeling we're in for a long wait ...
  8. Here's what I told George on the An Insiders View from the Outside thread, "I think my time here on Worthy is coming to an end. The gay 'Christian' over on the other thread promoting his oh-so-sweet sodomy talk to all and sundry has just about put the nail in the old coffin." His reply was, "All those posts were removed an hour ago. That's what I was cleaning up tonight. :)" Maybe I only inferred CCHL would be banned from the site, but take it from an old-timer: posters who glorify and champion sin--and do so unchecked by the mods--will kill a Christian site deader than Julius Ceasar. I've seen it occur at other places, and Worthy is not immune.
  9. It appears George has banned CCHL from this topic (and hopefully from the board). At any rate, I've put him on ignore.
  10. The United Methodist Church is getting pretty apostate these days; not as bad (yet) as the Episcopalians or the Presbyterians, but well on their way. I'd disregard their commercial.
  11. Nearly fifty years ago my wife and were saved in the Jesus Movement of the late 60s/early 70s, and since then for the most part we've attended full-gospel churches. In that time we've sat under men (and women) who were full of the Holy Ghost, and whose lives were exemplary as Christians, challenging us to press on into God. I'm aware most of our brothers and sisters in the Lord disagree with this (sometimes quite stridently). I wish that wasn't so.
  12. "Do not take counsel of your fears." -- General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson and (just for fun) "Giving money and power to Government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys." -- P.J. O'Rourke
  13. Our Christian FM station here in town plays nonstop Christmas music from midnight 31 October to midnight 1 January. I'm glad the place is automated, because if I worked there, by 15 December I'd be eating the wallpaper. Sheesh!
  14. Wondering the same thing myself. My spidey senses are tingling ...
  15. ... so who wants to start a pool about when the first "Christmas is satanic" thread will be posted? Like hot chocolate, carols, and sleigh rides, it's just not Christmas without it!
  16. Pound for pound and post for post, Worthy gets some of the strangest people on Earth.
  17. My problem is trying to have "fellowship" with Christians who simply choose to disregard the Bible. This may explain it: when I joined the Army (many years ago), one of things I was introduced to early in basic training was a book called the Uniform Code of Military Justice, or more simply, the UCMJ. The first night I was there, our DI slowly walked the barracks floor between us with it held high in his hand. I'm going to clean up what he said, but its gist was, "ladies [yeah, we were men, but he was making a point], this book I'm holding is THE book you will abide by. In it is found every rule, and the penalty for breaking that rule. I'm not asking you to memorize it, but know this, you WILL be judged by it. That may not seem fair. That may not be right. But it IS the truth, and if you go against its pages, the punishment WILL be severe." So it is with God's Word. Yes, Jesus saves us, and yes, there is grace, but when God makes His wishes about certain issues known in clear terms, we go against those wishes at our peril.
  18. Knowing what liberals believe, I don't think I could find common ground with them. Pray for them, certainly, but to befriend someone who--for instance--thinks it's just dandy to kill a baby from conception through delivery? No. That's a non-starter.
  19. My wife and I have been married forty-five years plus, and we're as different as steaks and hot dogs. But it doesn't matter; we complete each other. Or as Dr. James Dobson put it, "if two of you are the same, of you is superfluous." And the best part? Through incredibly bad times and insanely good ones, Jesus has been our focus.
  20. I've heard of those, but don't know much about them. Here's the gizmo we bought from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E6D6LQY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  21. This whole situation is the very definition of "a train wreck waiting to happen." Lord help any kids who come from this very shaky union.
