Someone suggested that the Pope might be the anti Christ.

How convenient if the anti Christ lived in a far away country, and was so easy to spot in his very unusual clothes.

He doesn't speak English as a first language either, like most of the baddies in Hollywood movies.

Actually I think his critics should stop gazing into the distance and start looking for Satan's disciples at work locally.

Introducing drugs to our youth.

Seeking to corrupt them through obsene, blasphemous and violent entertainment.

Deceiving us with their seductive financial deals that will make us poor.

These things have white anted most Western cultures.

And I don't think the instructions are coming from the Pope.

Yours in Jesus

Christofine

I have head people say that also. Especially non Catholics from countries like Romania and other Balkan countries. But he will not be the antichrist unless he is a Jewish Pope. The Pope simply doesn't fit the description and besides neither the Muslims nor the Jews would every follow after a Catholic Pope much less let him sit in the holy of holies in a new Jewish temple on the temple mount. When the antichrist comes he will claim to be Christ, the son of God and the Messiah. He will do great wonders and that is how he will get both the Muslims and the Jews to follow after him.

Isn't there still talk of Blair being pres of the EU?

Yes; interestingly enough, Tony Blair converted to Catholicism last year. Rumor has it that GWB is going to convert as well.

Naw, that was Obama silly, he's in Rome now. He's probably bending down to talk to the Pope the same way he did the King of the House of Saud.:thumbsup::rolleyes:

No, it was GWB, it was about a year ago that the rumors were flying.

http://catholicism.about.com/b/2008/06/16/...catholicism.htm

It wouldn't be a big deal if he did convert. It's a personal thing. Of course, Obama might be going to convert too; who knows? :noidea:

R-E-L-A-X! I was trying to be funny. :noidea::blink::taped:

I'm ALWAYS relaxed....and I knew you were being funny.

As a Catholic and quite a new member of worthy it is very upsetting to see all these nasty, spiteful comments about the Pope.

His motive for proposing a global authority on economy is obviously to reduce world poverty. A point that has been ignored by your contributors.

Is not the welfare of millions of impoverished people all over the world more important then interdenominational back stabbing?

I was raised in a poor African country called Tanzania where priests and pastors play sport together. I am good friends with a saint like Lutheran nun who is best friends with a Catholic nun. In Tanzania all and sundry pay respect to those who have devoted their life to God.

We could all learn a lot from their example.

Yours in Jesus

Christofine

I don't believe we have any reason to question the Popes motives. Nevertheless, he is advocating the establishment of a world government. A government believed to eventually be lead by the Anti-Christ. It does not bode well that one, who claims to be the "vicar" of Christ, knowingly and willingly advocates anything that could forward Satan's plans.

If you read Father Malachi Martin's last two books, "Keys of this Blood" and "Windswept House" you might change your mind on that red part.

I didn't mean that we shouldn't be observant of his actions nor scrutinize his words. What I meant is that it is likely that he has good intentions. In the words of Dr. Grant from Jurasic Park "Some of the worst things imaginable have been done with the best intentions".

Read the books......

This is not surprising to me. I've always believed the Vatican is going to be somehow involved in the OWG; I just haven't figured out how. I don't trust the Pope or the Vatican; never have and never will. And I don't know why.

Agree with you MG!

No matter what the Pope or the Vatican does, we should always be very careful about not offending Catholics (and everyone else for that matter). Most of my dad's family are Catholic and, for the most part, are pursuing a relationship with God in the best way they know how. They perceive any criticism through a prism of "we're the Church that everyone envies and therefore wants to destroy". Until you can get past that veneer, they aren't going to hear criticism of the leader of their church.

Either way....we should accept catholics are brothers/sisters in the faith as a starting point and find ways to celebrate what we have in common as opposed to being suspicious of their salvation as a starting point and looking for fault in them constantly. Individual catholics deserve to be treated as individuals and respected.

I know many catholics who will be in heaven and many protestants (and otherwise) who won't.

We are all going to need each other in the days ahead.

 Amen yod, Amen!

But Jesus said,

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (Joh 10:27)

And He said,

"But they have no root in themselves, but are temporary. Afterward when affliction or persecution arises for the Word's sake, they are immediately offended. " (Mar 4:17)

And He said,

"And blessed is he, whoever shall not be offended in Me." (Mat 11:6)

And He said,

Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and will kill you. And you will be hated of all nations for My name's sake. And then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another. And many false prophets will rise and deceive many." (Mat 24:9-11)

If Russia can ban all Christian churches except the official state church (the Russian Orthodox church) and arrest Christians gathering in an "illegal" congregation, and if China can do it, what about a OWG banning all churches except "The Church" or "Mother Church"?

And what if you and I refuse to obey the law of the OWG?

"If the Pope makes a Marxist statement, I believe we call him on it

If he stands for righteousness we stand with him " :P

Thanks so much Mattijah for this kind explanation.

Now I understand where some of you guys are coming from and harbour no grudges.

Do people still listen to the king of Rome? Does he still have that much authority? Seems to me he's become a babbling figurehead with wild ideas. Kinda like a 103 year old grandpa at christmas dinner.

Pope John Paul (sorry, I don't recall his number) I would say was most definitely a world leader and had the ear of many people.

I'm not so sure Pope Benedict is holding much sway in anything . . . at least not for now.

Maybe I should watch the news or read the papers then.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
