I was reading this topic from the Controversial issues forum:

One thing wyguy said in this topic was:

Christians believe Jesus is God.

Muslims do not.

Same God?

Not a chance.

And everyone agreed with this. But here is the rub. Jews also don't believe that Jesus is God. So by this logic, Jews also worship a different God than us Christians.

Your thoughts?

Since our God comes from their bible, I'm not sure how you could come to any other conclusion. Maybe the better question would be "Do all christians worship the God of the Jewish Bible"?

The answers might surprise many here....

I see Christianity as having divorced itself of anything Jewish in the early centuries and the "Jesus" presented was not related to the Messiah of Israel.

Most christians who are engaged with the Lord enough to visit a discussion board have probably educated themselves so that's not directed at anyone here....but there are churches teaching "liberation theology" and other such blasphemous doctrines that have totally different Jesus than the Jewish one.

Christians and Jews both worship Jehovah. Muslims do not. The difference is that Christians believe God came to earth in the form of Jesus Christ, and Jews do not, except for Messianic Jews of course. Yes, there is a difference between those who are in Judaism and those who worship false gods.

My point wasn't to say that the Jews don't worship the same God as we do, or that Muslims do worship the same God as we do. My point was, by the logic used in the quote in the opening post, one could say the Jews didn't.

I am just asking that people be consistent in their arguments.

BTW, as an off topic comment, did you know that Arabic speaking Christians call God "Allah"? Just an interesting tid bit! :)

They do worship Jesus and just don't know it. The Father is not the old testament God of Israel. Jesus was the God of Abraham, Isac and Jacob.

Did you know that our Bible says that there are many gods and many lords....... and they are not the same just because someone calls them God, god, or allah

There is one true God; the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I don't know what to say to those who do not worship the Father Son and Holy Spirit; should we call it a different conception of God, a different interpretation of God or a different God?

I don't think it matters really. We do know that only the God of Scripture, the Trinity; brings salvation however and is the only True God.

To deny Christ as God is denying God.

22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

Did you know that 'alah, aw law ' in Hebrew means curse? The Jews worship the one creator, they have yet to accept Yeshua yet we know that in the end they will know Him and call out for Him.

Jews worship the God of the bible that He inspired. Their bible testifies of Jesus whether they believe in Him or not. They are trying to get to the same God, but don't know the way to Him.

Muslims worship a different god and they use a totaly different bible that is takes bits of truth and distorts it into lies. They try to testify that Jesus was their prophet and will come back and kill and the christians and jews. In witnessing to Muslims I have heard many times how it is driven by hate and offence, and a God of love is something hard to grasp for them. Now, there is only one I can think of who's native tongue is lies.

That's not surprising; "allah' is synonymous with 'god' in Arabic. Not with 'God' though.

For that matter, "God" isn't really His name. The Hebrew word is El but rarely used alone. Usually it was place with the words for "Almighty," "Most High," etc.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
