God and the Weather

Recommended Posts

I had always thought that God was always in control of the weather ! I did not think that Satan had any authority what-so-ever over the weather, whether the sun shined, or it rained or stormed or even hurricanes or tornados.

God certainly sends sunshine for us to bask in, and rain for the gardens, grass, trees, and wildlife to be nurtured upon. But what about the destructive hurricanes and tornados? Since God is LOVE, you wouldn't think He would send something to steal, kill and destroy.....only Satan does that ! But I thought maybe God did that too...to provide more work for people in cleanup and to bring more people together in unity for His Glory !

When Jesus was in the boat with the disciples, and He was asleep, a storm came up, and the disciples were afraid and woke Him up..and He said to them "What little faith you have"....and then told the storm to calm down and it obeyed Him. Where did that storm come from?

What do you say about this subject?

God is in control. The earth his his and every thing in it.

Psalm 147:15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

Psalm 135:7He causes the clouds to rise over the earth.

He sends the lightning with the rain

and releases the wind from his storehouses

Many have taught false teachings like : "God can't do anything in the earth unless we give him permission".........."God is on the outside looking in" they even say that the only reason that Job went through all that stuff, was because of a bad confession.

God is the All Mighty!!!! Nothing he has created has authority unless he has given it.

In his love,

Brian

I see my wife is at it again! As my wife (Carly49) said, "Jesus rebuked the storm". Now Jesus would not go against the word of His Father. If God, had indeed created the storm, then I can't see Jesus rebuking it. I believe these calamities are both "man-made" (through altering our global environment), and caused by the "evil one", as he is the only one who comes to "kill, steal, and destroy". The Lord will have His Judgement Day, but is this a judgement from The Lord?

Brian, if you really believe what you posted, then please explain why so many people have died this past hurrican season, when The Lord said He came to give life, and give it more abundantly. Your post flies in the face of that Scripture. The Lord Giveth, But The Lord doesn't taketh away.

Who taught you that the Lord doesn't take it away? Where is that in scripture?

There are many false teachings that people cling to because they can't see God as a God of judgement.

I'm not trying to be difficult at all. I love God and I love the saints. When we seek out his word, we must take all his word.

I was actually taught that" God didn't harden Pharaoh's heart, Pharaoh himself did"

Read Rom chapter 9. God hardens who he wants to harden and he has mercy on whom he has mercy. There are those who he created for wrath and those he created for mercy

Yes....Jesus said that he gives life but he also brings division...Luke 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

The only thing I was trying to say is if anyone has authority....man or the devil....God gave it to them for his purpose.

I'm not saying any of these things to hurt someones faith but to strenghthen and understand that we are in his arms.

One day he's gonna do something that many can't understand but for his purpose, he will.

2 Thes 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

This doesn't seem like the charactor of God........yet it is.

Let us cling tightly to the King of Kings.....let us be in his peace....and let us love one another........and let us speak the truth of God in love.

In his love,

Brian

It's his story, not mine. I'm just thankful I can be apart of it.

I believe that God is very much in Florida and is controlling the weather. I believe this is just another way God is trying to show that He is in control and that we need to turn away from our death path and turn to the light, but humans in their I'm in control and using their science is once again trying to play God by ignoring what is right in front of their faces. This is just the beginning. God's presents will be known. It doesn't matter what label we put on it. If the world thinks that this little bad weather is so bad wait until Jesus comes back. My heart goes out for the people who's lives has been affected by this, but I know that God's will will be done.

God Bless You

Jacqueline

The soverenty of God and control of the physical universe are 2 different things. God is soverign over ALL things. Nothing that happens; happens without His knowing. On the other hand He has delegated CONTROL and RESPONSIBILITY to others. He has set up laws and rules of science that are not broken except by special circumstances (miracles). When God sends a judgement to the earth it is by His agents, even evil spirits(1King 22; 2Chron.18, Job 1-3). Satan is declared to be the "god of this world"(2 Cor. 4:4) and he does have control to the extent God has allowed.

To fail to differentiate between the soverenty of God and control of the earth is to fail to understand much about the world we live in. On the one hand God is blamed for evil, and on the other the ememy of our souls is ignored.

I do believe that these storms are a judgement from God on Fla. It is time to REALLY repent America.

Yes God is Loving, but He is also a God of Judgement. Our sins of this world is causing our pain that are being inflicted on us.

You think alittle hurricanes are bad? What till the big judgement day when everything and everyone are destroyed escept the believers in Jesus Christ.

If we conutinue down our path of destruction it's going to get worse. And to think that the day of Noah was worse then now.

So, don't believe what ppl tell you that God is only loving and nothing else.

Maybe open the Bible read and get to Know God a little better.

Well, if you listen to Kerry, GWB is in control of the weather, and messing it up.

God, of course, is really in control, and does infact, taketh away where He sees fit.

Luk 13:1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

Luk 13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

Luk 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luk 13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

Luk 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
