Congress should be calling for a state of war

Forgive me, I didn't read all the post, but I felt that I must say something.

War is something you just don't jump into for a reaction to an action, you better make sure that all the facts are on the table.

War is pure hell, you have to be in a war to truly understand the hell war really is. (been there, done it and I do have a T-shirt of it)

I'm not saying we should or shouldn't go to war, but if we do...............(one of my pet peeves).............. don't send our brave men and women somewhere with one arm tied behind their back. Let our Armed Forces go in, kick butt and get out of there.

The only way you can win a culture war as this is, is to exterminate one side or the other either by death, or conversion.

that makes what we face something very difficult to deal with. I don't think the American people have the stomach for the extermination by death of Islam..... I know I don't. I don't think we can just send them all to hell at the end of a gun and be what Jesus taught us to be.

BTW in case you don't know or have forgotten, we in the USA have been at war with islam since the days of Thomas Jefferson. We've kicked their butts on more than one occasion, but they keep breeding..... and true islam will sit back for multi generations to regain their strength to fight you.....

I agree, islam is not a cancer that you can cut out and it is gone forever, it is a cancer that keeps coming back. Only God can truly eradicate islam, by whatever means he so chooses.

Yeah but who are you going to eradicate? It's not like the Islamic countries are united and want to start an all out war with us. I've been watching a lot of news this week and it's said that the sect of Muslims who want to kill all non Muslims is only about 20%. And even that 20% aren't united into any kind of formidable army. So who do we go to war against? As was pointed out above, we have a very powerful war machine and very few nations on Earth could actually fight us and hope to win. But we do have to do something.

I think we have to cut funding to Egypt because this new government that took over is being run by the Brotherhood and they are part of the 20% who want to kill non Muslims. So maybe without our money they can be over thrown from within, just like they came into power in that way.

The other important thing I'm aware of that we must do is make sure Iran doesn't develop a nuclear bomb. Again I don't know how we would do that, but I'd say it's of paramount importance. This whole thing sounds like it will be more like a cold war than an all out war.

And just a thought I had. I wonder if any of our corrupt Americans had a part in seeing to it that these riots occurred, and that the Marines had rubber bullets? I hope not. But we're constantly hearing about how our crooked countrymen had to do with so many other things going on. So I wonder if some of our people had a hand in this too?

Some groups among the New Agers make no bones about that person being the Antichrist.

It's also possible that the administration knew it was coming and allowed it to come to pass to draw the American people together for war..... It's happened before most major military actions in the past 100 or more years.

Another thing with this is that they HAVE to be smart enough to have done something had they actually been paying attention and seen it coming. This is history repeating itself, terrible economy, embassy troubles in the middle east. The fewer lines of comparison that can be drawn between obama and jimmy carter, the better for the democrats. I don't think they're stupid enough to not realize it. What we have here is another carter/obama parallel. Rasmussen has obama having lost all of his convention bounce and now being down to romney by 3 points in the general, by the way, which is telling. It's clear that this situation can't help him, at all.

It used to be at one time (and probably is still so today) that to attack the embassy of a foreign power was considered an act of war. Inasmuch as both Libya and Egypt have done so, Congress should be in session calling for a state of war.

Yes against Libya, no against Egypt. Why one and not the other? Because the Egyptians have put riot police out to stop the incidents, they are making an effort to control their radicals. Libya is not. A few bombs should put them straight and let the rest of the world know that the USA will not tolerate this conduct.

Peace and islam are like oil and water, for sure. But the answer is not simply 'bomb them'. Bomb who? The Middle East is on the verge of all out war; we simply can't just go in and take out the radicals. For one thing, they're ALL radicals and, for another, if that region blows sky high, Israel will be the first casualty. Boots on the ground in yet another war? It's not feasible right now. So....what do we do?

I wouldn't expect a lady to understand (no offense here) how to deal with this; they are not generally trained in the art of war. We have a multitude of options. The best one for this particular incident is the submarine launched cruise missile with a Fuel Air Explosive warhead. Launch 2 or 3 each into Bengazi and Tripoli, then issue a statement: Do it again, we'll send more. Leave us alone and the matter is resolved.

I don't think Obama will do anything of substance in response to this attack. He could start by allowing the guards to have live ammunition. The very idea they didn't already was shocking to me. What I would like to see is those who are responsible publically hanged or beheaded as an example to anyone who would dare attack our embassy in the future. That is what I would like to see, but we will probably get more speeches, and nothing more.

You're right, Obama will do nothing. He has stated that he will 'see justice done', whatever that means. I find it interesting that the Libyans were able to make arrests so soon. What that tells me is that they knew that this was going to happen. AS far I am concerned, they are complicit in the matter. It is an act of war both by action and by international law, and if Obama does nothing, he should be impeached for failure to execute his oath of office in which he swore to defend this nation against all enemies foreign and domestic.
