anyone used salt as protection?

this sprinkling of salt, in my opinion just serves as a protective barrier against forces we cannot see. it's like chicken soup when you have a cold. i am thankful that my husband thought to do this and that it worked for our daughter. we are all sleeping peacefully now. she did not have to suffer long with whatever or whoever was bothering her.

has anyone ever done this? what do you think of this? i would not be surprised to have replies from people on both sides of the fence.

Casting spells or using some sort of barrier (there are quite a few) to keep witches away is not like having a bowl of chicken soup.

What it is, is using magik and superstition...depending on the person invoking its protection through ceremony or belief....I agree

with those who state that prayer is the answer and I would admonish you to stop this practice immediately. I suffered badly

from fear of the dark and things that go bump in the night when I was child...I believe it was hereditary and if, your husband has

actually stopped his magik apart from the salt, it is most likely hereditary in your baby's case.

Why does the salt work? It works because you believe it will work. The problem is that it is an invitation from the devil to use

more magik to get results.

There is nothing complicated that you need to know. You simply need to use the word of God, the Bible, against this activity

and your husband should also examine his own self and determine why he would invoke witchcraft if he is a Christian.

You have a two fold problem in your home...your baby is suffering and for some reason, a Christian has decided that a little magik

is OK if the blood of Christ is not enough.

Your problem will get worse and your husband has opened a door that is better left shut.

In the Old Testament, God banned the used of spells and incantations and forbid a witch a to live. It is a serious offense as it

invokes demons in the place of the Holy Spirit.

I pray you realize what is really going on and either consult your pastor if you attend church or remove the salt and pray over your

child and ask your husband to repent of his magik.

I know this sounds a little harsh, but even the smallest dabbling in this sort of thing can result in problems that are far worse than

any you are currently experiencing.

joe, this scripture doesn't in any way support the practice of using salt for protection. CHRISTIANS are the salt of the earth... salt is not used to protect christians.

i think dave was "getting inside satan's head" so to speak. why wouldn't satan pretend something is working in order to deceive the person until such a time? it's like baby steps... the person being deceived may be smart enough to recognize a more obvious play, but if satan can lure them away a little at a time, they don't even realize they're following him.

of course, that may not be what dave meant at all. i'm just guessing.

so i have a 10 month old baby girl. the past couple of months she's been crying a lot at night and waking up in a cold sweat. i didn't know if it was her teeth bugging her or a cold coming on - i didn't put much thought into it, but it troubled my husband a little bit. on one particular night, our daughter was waking and crying nearly every hour, all night long.

We are told to resist the Devil, steadfast in faith, and submit to God. This is far more effective than sea salt. Unless we are trying to kill him with High Blood pressure.

In my circles, believers "Anoint" door frames with Oil to keep whatever out, who knows. More superstition when we should be submitting to God, and doing as we are called to do.

I do submit to God 3 times a day in prayer.

Satan has his own army of demons. Satan knows that he cannot get to God ...so he trys to get to us.

I think people who are christians need to be educated on the spiritual realm.

For we are of the spirit ...in Gods' kingdom , now.

Satan or any demonic spirit are also in the spirit realm.

They can walk..talk... and know Gods' word.

They can hinder us, in many ways. Even if a person is living rightly.

Although , if a christian has something that is not good in their home ..such as ... in books...cd's...statures... bad type of music. ( heavy medal ) etc....

unclean or demonic photos or art....watching bad things on t.v. or the internet , etc.

They need to discord these things ...for it opens the door for satan to come in ...and may get attacked in some kind of way.

I would suggest that people need to be aware of the spirit realm...and get educated about it.

I know the word ...says for to submit yourself to God and the devil flees from you.

Sometimes...if one opens the door for satan to get in... then they have to know what to do.

Weeds in the garden sometimes grow slower then the real crop but in the end the weeds will chock off the true life of the crop if left to grow.

Nowhere in scripture are we given the instruction to use salt. Read Ephesians 6:10-20 for proper instruction in the spiritual warfare. Learn what each of the parts of our protection are and build them stronger.
