In 1962, in Long Island, NY, five families sued and won as the Supreme Court ruled that prayer is unconstitutional. In 1963, the same Supreme Court ruled that the bible reading and the Lords Prayer is school in unconstitutional. In the same year, Madalyn Murray O'Hair founds American Atheists. It just continued to go down hill from there on. Remember, there still will be a falling away in the future.

They took God out of school long ago and violence has gone up. There's a strong Atheist movement to take God off and out of everything even our money. They abuse the law and constitution to get their way. If you study Revelation you'll see we're headed straight into the prophecies. Jesus said it'd be like the days of Noah when all were wicked hearted. Matthew 24:36-38 Amplified Bible (AMP) 36 But of that [exact] day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For just as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, [men] marrying and [women] being given in marriage, until the [very] day when Noah went into the ark, Luke 17:25-27 Amplified Bible (AMP) 25 But first He must suffer many things and be disapproved and repudiated and rejected by this age and generation. 26 And [just] as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the time of the Son of Man. 27 [People] ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, right up to the day when Noah went into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. to understand Revelation is very diffcult
Guest
How many Americans still believe in GOD today? First, it might be a good idea to define God as the God of the Bible. The term "God" can be used here for many things besides the God of the Bible in our decaying culture. I'd have to say "less than we think" in that case. Guest
a lot, in some sense, but without clearly defining who/what God is and what it means to beleive in God, the question is pretty worthess, except to satisfy ones curiousity. After all, while most Americans 'beleive in God'. Satan has absolute knowledge of His existence, and that not of some generic God, but the one, true God. Satan is a monotheist.Having beleif in God is not what matters, exercising faith in Him and His Son's work on the cross is an entirley different matter.mere beleif in God is the topic of this poll: http://www.gallup.com/poll/147887/americans-continue-believe-god.aspx

Moment ago,In a Chinese forum I saw a post said that today more and more Americans drift away from GOD,and also the American GOV tries their best to expel GOD: In schools it is forbidden to sing “God Bless America” In “pledge of allegiance”, “under God”was been canceled And in here, this post before my eyes several days so I want to know how Americans still believe in GOD today? While those things have happened here in the U.S., it's simply not true that it's nationwide. Most are isolated incidents that usually end up in a court battle. It is against state law for anyone to stop a child from praying in school unless the child is interrupting education and that would be at the discretion of the teacher in charge throughout the day. When my wife was still teaching as late as a couple of years ago if a student was having problems and wanted to pray for someone, she stopped the class and allowed the kids to pray for each other....... the awesomest sight you ever saw to see kindergarten kids gather around holding hands praying for a brother, sister, Mother or dad, aunt, Uncle or just someone down the street. talking to God as though he was standing right in the midst of them..... I know........ He was.

Our president claimed to be a Christian but his actions have proved otherwise.. He is in a socialist cult that believes salvation means deliverance from bondage of poverty through socialism, and Jesus was just a good example of God identifying with the poor. It is called liberation theology. The news and the movies malign true Christians most of the time. People who share their faith at work are often in danger of losing their jobs. I was always careful to urge people to go to the church of their choice so I could not be accused of prosylatiizing. I was able to tell others what Jesus has done in my life and for out family. So what you have said is true. Our state had to allow athiests to put up a sign against religion in order to allow a Christmas scene to be displayed on the capital grounds.. Some public buildings have been forced to remove the 10 commandments. People are being complained about if the have a Bible Study in their homes. One business complained that the church next door was too noisy and they could hear hymns being sung. So there is growing opposition but so far the constitution still gives us safeguards. Some people are being forced to do things against their Christian beliefs, which is not good. Some quit their jobs or close their businesses rather than do so. It is a time to be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves. However, God has always used opposition to strengthen His Church. The gates of hell shall not prevail against it!!. I do. I also cannot vouch for the statements about God Bless America (I'm pretty sure, but I could be confusing this with another song) or "under God" being banned in schools. All that I have taught in and been in still allow this. Children are of course allowed not to participate if they wish, Plus "under God" was put in the pledge during the 50s to separate us from the "godless commies" anyway, so that isn't that big of a deal anyway. It's interesting belonging to a Methodist church because the average age of a United Methodist these days is if not in the 50s then the 40s. We're an old bunch.
