Gee, I guess I an always repent by saying "ha ha ha"  when I type LOL.

 

To be serious, if I type lol, I am trying to let people know, that either I find something funny, or I am acknowledging that they tried to say something funny, or it is a way to let them know not to take way I just said too seriously.  I think that is what lol means, I never understood it to be someone lying to me, or telling me the truth about literally laughing out load. So no, since there is no intent to deceive, and God looks upon the heart, I see nothing wrong with it at all.

 

If you do, then by all means, live according to those convictions.

I see often times, somebody will insult another individual- and then add the phrase "LOL" to the end, thinking that somehow those 3 letters make it not a insult... I am generally laughing if I say LOL.........

 

I would think that it is judgmental perhaps so assume what someone says is intended as an insult. I cannot know the heart, and when someone adds jk or lol, I give them the benefit of a doubt, rather than choose to feel offended, So, I am thinking that you are wrong, as usual, lol.

Well.. Lol is just a form of expression. Just like ROFL is an expression. I wouldn't be typing ROFL while rolling on floor laughing.loll

That said, most people use it without laughing. If it is an accepted norm to use it without laughing, idk. Irrelevant question. Don't use it.
