. . . leaving only the 2 verses of Rev. 11:1, 2, which I'm convinced also refer to the heavenly sanctuary.

Actually, the temple in Revelation 11:1-2 is the same future, literal, 3rd-earthly temple as Matthew 24:15, Daniel 11:31,36, and 2 Thessalonians 2:4, the outer court of which will eventually be given to the Gentiles (Revelation 11:2), the same Gentiles who will later tread the earthly Jerusalem under foot for 42 literal months (Revelation 11:2).

Revelation 11:2
But the court which is without [outside] the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Revelation 11:2 refers to a literal outer court of a Jewish temple building which will be on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem during the future tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24, just as Matthew 24:15 and Daniel 11:31 refer to that temple's holy place (inner sanctum), and just as 2 Thessalonians 2:4 and Daniel 11:36 refer to the Antichrist eventually sitting in that temple (at least one time) and proclaiming himself God.

Naos does not mean temple . . .

Note that in Revelation 11:1-2, like in 2 Thessalonians 2:4, the original Greek word (naos: G3485) translated as "temple" is the same word used for the earthly Jewish temple in Matthew 23:16, Matthew 23:17, Matthew 23:21, Matthew 23:35, Matthew 27:5, Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38, Luke 1:9, Luke 1:21, Luke 1:22, Luke 23:45, and John 2:20.

Re: Daniel 11:31: This verse took place during the days of Antiochus Epiphanes, and refers to the 2nd temple.

Regarding the "abomination of desolation", Daniel 11:31 was typically fulfilled by the abomination of desolation in 1 Maccabees 1:54, which occurred in the holy place (the inner sanctum) of the 2nd Jewish temple in Jerusalem in the time of Antiochus IV. But per Jesus' statement in Matthew 24:15, the church will see the abomination of desolation in Daniel 11:31 fulfilled (antitypically) in the future, when the church will see the abomination of desolation stand in the holy place (of a 3rd Jewish temple in Jerusalem). This future abomination of desolation could be a standing, android image of the Antichrist (Revelation 13:15) which his followers ("they") will put in the holy place of the temple (Daniel 11:31) to be worshipped (Revelation 13:15), after they have stopped the daily Mosaic animal sacrifices which the ultra-Orthodox Jews will have restarted in front of the temple (Daniel 11:31). This image will pollute the holy place of the temple (Daniel 11:31).

The Antichrist will then fulfill Daniel 11:36 and 2 Thessalonians 2:4 by sitting himself (at least one time) in the temple and proclaiming himself God. By the power of Satan (the dragon, Revelation 12:9), the Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of Revelation's "beast") will then rule and be worshipped by all the nations of the earth for 3.5 literal years (Revelation 13:4-18), and will physically overcome Biblical Christians (not in hiding) in every nation (Revelation 13:7-10, Revelation 14:12-13, Revelation 20:4-6, Matthew 24:9-13).

Also, from the day on which (antitypically) "the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be 1,290 days. Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the 1,335 days" (Daniel 12:11-12, Revelation 16:15). Also, because the Antichrist will fulfill Daniel 11:31 antitypically (Matthew 24:15) and will fulfill Daniel 11:36 for the first (and only) time, then he will also fulfill all of Daniel 11:21-45 (the first part of it antitypically, and the rest for the first and only time) when he arises on the world stage, for that passage refers to the career of the same man. And since the Antichrist will fulfill all of Daniel 11:21-45 when he arises on the world stage, then just preceding his arising on the world stage, Daniel 11:13-19 could be fulfilled antitypically by an Iraqi Baathist General completely defeating and occupying Israel and Egypt with a huge Iraqi Army (Daniel 11:15-17; in verse 17 the original Hebrew word translated as "daughter" is "bath").

The temple Institute has been working on it since the 70's, I think it is probably built, ready to be disassembled and reassembled.

Since G-d is behind it, probably take as long as we slow up His Will.

Blessings

But isn't the third temple the temple which is Christ's Body, the Church? (John 2:20,21; Ephesians 2:19-22; I Peter 2:5)

Will there be a fourth temple?

I am not aware of a fourth temple.

Since the third temple will be utterly desecrated by Satan, there must of necessity be a fourth temple which will be pure and holy and according to the prophecy of Ezekiel.  Since there is a "great earthquake" in Jerusalem while the Antichrist is in power (Rev 11:13), it is entirely possible that the third temple will be totally demolished at that time in preparation for a clean and holy temple.

Where will this fourth temple be built?Do you have scripture supporting this fourth temple?

Yes, the fourth temple and its location is laid in Ezekiel 48.   Ezek. 40-48 describes the whole thing.

Thanks Shiloh.  I did mention "the prophecy of Ezekiel" but bopeep was probably too busy looking for her sheep.  I trust she has located them by now.  Just kidding.

All of which verses refer to the sanctuary/holy place; not the whole temple, of which the sanctuary is only a part. The sanctuary, for example, does not include the altar or the laver, or the court of the Israelites, etc.; but the temple does. Consider Mt. 23:35, which you cite above:

"That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple G3485 and the altar."

This sentence is idiotic, because the altar is within the temple, but in front of the sanctuary. Sanctuary is the only possible meaning, not temple. But you clearly don't understand the different connotation in the Greek between heiron and naos. And so you miss important clues by only reading substandard English translations, and presuming prophetic truths from your misunderstandings.

The orthodox Jews do no go upon the Temple Mount, because they are afraid they might walk upon the site of the ancient Holy Place. There is no agreement as to where the Holy Place is. Any earthly temple not authorized by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, nor by a true prophet of God, could by any stretch of the imagination be called "the Naos of God," the term used in Rev. 11:1.

There is no Scripture in the Bible that speaks of a third Temple being authorized by anyone other than the Messiah. You have been deceived, brother, like so many who teach that there will be a third "Temple of God" before the Second Coming.

Tigger - I'm of the belief that the third temple, Christ being the corner stone, is not a physical temple, but is the body of Christ. Ezekiel's temple, more than not, describes the saving power of Christ's redemptive work on the cross. The river that flows from under the threshold of the tabernacle is symbolic of the water that flowed from Christ's side when he was pierced.

There is more detail, more measurements, about Ezekiel's temple than any other temple in the bible. This tells me that Christ, being represented by the temple in Ezekiel, lived up to and was able to meet, and fulfill, the measurements and judgments of God's laws. Ezekiel is told to show these measurements to the house of Israel so that they may "measure the pattern" and know their shame (Ezek 43:10-11).

The symbolism in measuring something that we see in prophetic books is to see if something has been able to meet the standard which God set. He is saying "Here is the law, and here is the measuring stick to see how well you are doing." Are we measuring up. It's the same as going to court. The law is presented and we are measured against that law - and fined appropriately if not. Christ was able to fulfill the requirements of the law, and this is what Ezekiel's temple is.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
