I am looking for an example, and details as to what it looks like when a person sinks. Is it emotional basket case-ism? Does one turn to drugs or alcohol, or what does one do when they 'sink.' He basically lost faith. When we take our eyes off Jesus we revert to our previous mind set and way of living. Trusting Jesus is everything in the way we live our lives and that He will help us in our time of weakness.

Take Peter's example. He did sink. He also denied the Lord. He repented. He was then forgiven, restored, and made the apostle to the Circumcision. Eventually he became a leading apostle and brought thousands of souls to Christ. So what does a Christian do when he sinks? He gets up and gets going. Drugs and alcohol give temporary relief. Christ heals, restores, strengthens, and empowers.

We all have a strong will to survive. Panic, kicking and trying to make it to the top where we can get air is our first instinct. Then I would start looking for Jesus and yell for help. Jesus is mighty to save; all we need to do is call on Him again, and ask Him to forgive us for taking our eyes off Him. All who call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. Then we start walking anew. Every toddler falls, and the Father is quick to help him to his feet again. As time goes on He starts letting the toddler learn to get up by himself. But toddlers, like all of us, start thinking we can do it all by ourselves without any help from Father. That is when we get into trouble. God allows this to keep us returning to Him till we realize that we need to walk hand in hand with our Savior.

Yet still wondering about more about what people look like sinking. Maybe me yesterday, come to think of it. Reacting, instead of praying and clinging to God in a situation in which I needed to endure. And let me tell you, what I did was not good.

You should get angry at Jesus and tell him how you feel, (he knows that anyway, no need to hide it from him), that you hope in him and you believed in him in that situation, and you feel that he let you down. That you look to him and why, maybe this time he will listen and let you know why In due time, then you will understand. I am sorry for what I wrote, but I think that he will understand. Ouch. Sinking. For some reason that puts me in mind of 'sinking feeling', how you feel when your little raft springs a leak Probably time to get in the Jesus lifeboat when that happens lol! I'm really good at kicking myself around the block so I agree with everyone saying to keep our eyes on the Lord. I'm reading a book right now by Joyce Meyer, Battlefield of the Mind and of course she's spot on regarding where our struggles really are...between the ears
