Last year, I had what I would consider to be an experience with the Holy Spirit, and it changed my life. I had left the faith, and was an atheist during that time, and it changed everything. I became born again, and it has been something that I never experienced when I was a Christian before I left the faith a few years ago. I pray, and have a deep relationship with Jesus now, but sometimes...I still focus on stupid things, things of this world. In prayer one night, I felt God's still small voice say...''you are human, this is why you sometimes focus on the world.'' It gave me comfort, but I don't want to focus on the world, I want to stay focused on Jesus always. It was seemingly easy right after my experience last year, and every day I'm grateful for my new found faith, but what I mean by being caught up in the world...is worry. I still worry about things that I shouldn't worry about, for God is in control. I know He is, but then, why do I worry? I worry over losing my job, or not being a good enough wife for my fiance, etc...these types of things. Can anyone relate? I pray about this, and ask for Jesus' strength to overcome worry, but it seems to be something that is my nemesis. Do any of you wrestle with worry, and how do you let it go, and let God take it from you?

I constantly wrestle with this sis. But in letting go to the Lord, all we can do is just trust Him. Yeah, it can be scary at times; we're used to trying to "take care of it" ourselves. It's something we sometimes have to repeatedly re-learn. But as long as we're here, the Lord is faithful in His care of us. It's not a sin to have concerns Deidre; it's what we do with those concerns. And it is all to easy to worry about things in this world, as we are indeed human. But like anything, as we bring the Lord more and more of our worries, concerns and fears, we trust Him more and more.

I hope this help you sis. :)

Yes indeed, and in truth - these are common temptations that we all go through and face often, sometimes daily.

The answer is always in God's WORD - and this : immersed ((our whole life, not just parts nor just pieces )) in Yeshua, we receive the free gift of salvation by faith in His grace

and with Him also receive PEACE,  JOY, and RIGHTEOUSNESS in the Breath of Yahweh((set apart Spirit, Ruach HaKodesh)).

Peace that passes understanding! ((MY PEACE I GIVE to you HE SAYS; not like the world gives))

Joy unimaginable!  Unspeakable !  That NO CIRCUMSTANCE/ torture or death even/ can take away.

Righteousness:  so we can boldly approach His Throne of Grace to RECEIVE HELP in time of need((ANY TIME, ALL THE TIME)).

.......

Now,  that's not exactly a practical answer, nor yet a testimony , but the PROMISE OF HIS WORD.

Also, remember, like Yeshua, we learn obedience through the things we suffer((physical pain, mental vexation, friends and family leaving and thinking us crazy, arrest and imprisonment for the Gospel's Sake))...

Practically,  we do suffer the loss of all things.

Just as Jesus told all of His disciples.

The world is nothing to us.  We are dead to the world/ society, and the world is dead to us.

Our comfort, is not of this world.

Our Shepherd Jesus gave us a Promise: "I will never, never, never leave you nor forsake you "....((Hebrews 13:1-5 AMP))

and that's just a start !! ((of HIS CARE and PROVISION for us for TODAY and for ETERNITY)).

NOTICE NOTICE NOTICE:  He has requirements.

Hebrews 13Amplified Bible (AMP)

The Changeless Christ

13 Let love of your fellow believers continue. Do not neglect to extend hospitality to strangers [especially among the family of believers—being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember those who are in prison, as if you were their fellow prisoner, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body [and subject to physical suffering]. Marriage is to be held in honor among all [that is, regarded as something of great value], and the marriage bed undefiled [by immorality or by any sexual sin]; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have;

for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you[nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say,

The Lord is my Helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid.
What will man do to me?”

The only way to deal with "worry" is to label it as "unprofitable", "unproductive", and "counter-productive". Jesus said that worry would not add one cubit (18 inches) to your height (Mt 6:27) so don't waste your mental and spiritual energy on worry. The antidote for worry is absolute trust in God (Mt 6:32), but that does not mean that you do absolutely nothing (1 Thess 2:9).  Paul laboured night and day.

It's called detachment.   You must become detached from the things of this world, from the things you care about, from self-love, from your very life.

This doesn't mean you stop loving others, but you stop loving them or wanting them or things for yourself, and you start loving them because of God and for God sake, not your own.

I was thinking along Ezra's two scriptures he mentioned in Matthew, as well as a few others along with it in Matthew 6:25-34

In learning to trust God for everything, we find out life is more than food and clothing.

Food?
We are instructed to think of the birds in the air.
I mean, watch them things, we had 40ish sparrows outside my window the other day as I watched my heavenly father feed them, and feed them He did.
Them buggers were kicking up the soil and leaves and dining away.
Then we are told by God we are much better than them!

Clothing?
We're asked by God to consider the lilies, they grow, don't toil, (labor, work) nor spin. (as in spinning yarn, they don't make clothes for themselves)
And Solomon, who was the best dressed in his day, could not even compare with one of these beautiful flowers of God.
These are the same flowers, that are here today, and gone tomorrow.

We're told to take no thought of eating, drinking, clothing.
In pursuing God and His kingdom, His righteousness, these needed things follow.

Many worry about the future, each day has it's own concerns, concerns that Christians should prayerfully turn over to God.

Mat 6:25-34
(25)  Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
(26)  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
(27)  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
(28)  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
(29)  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
(30)  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
(31)  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(32)  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
(33)  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
(34)  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

1Pe 5:7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Continue to prayerfully read His Word daily believing what we read. Worry, sins, wrong thinking begin to go as we renew our minds in His Word!

Psa 119:11  Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

We all have trouble trusting God!  Most have no idea why though.

Do you want to trust God more and therefore be less worrisome?

Clean house.

Learn how to take a personal moral inventory and confess your faults to others before God.  Take time to honestly consider whether or not you want your faults removed.  You'd be suprised how many of us want to hold on to the very things that are killing us!  Make sure to come before God and ask him to remove your defects.  Then take some time to consider how many people you have injured through your sin and begin to make amends to people wherever possible except in any case where you would bring more harm.

Many of us have a hard time seeing ourselves and others cannot get past the self justification mindset of an eye for an eye.  Others of us blame our behaviors on others saying to ourselves I only did that because of what happened to me.

I use to worry that God wouldn't save me from calamity or suffering but today I know different.  Today, as long as I am walking in Love giving grace in truth unto others God has been sheltering me.  Jesus said that if we do what he said in the sermon on the mount then the storms would come and the winds woyld rage but our house would stand.

It is about what we do and how we live.

I believe you have to come to a point in life when no matter what you physically or mentally  do nothing can the change a situation before you finally see that  all your struggles are of no effect.  That is when you finally learn that your  only option is to leave it in God 's hands and subject to His perfect will, and trust Him to work it all out.

we as humans are taught from the moment we are born that if we cry we are fed. If we want something we reach for it and take it. We control our grades, our car, our choice, our everything....until we come across something that is totally out of our control and we are left helpless. But once we realize that all things work best if we ask for God to take and direct our lives, we struggle to succeed on our own trying to control everything we can even people.

the old gospel song "trust and obey for there is no other way ..." Really says it all. Trusting God in everything and setting aside our worries and desires for His will for us is not something we always find easy...what if He chooses not to do what I want. Funny, but that may not be what is best and in the end we are not happy and if we are it may be temporary. We are a determined, and obstinate creation wanting our will not God's. Yet He waits for us to ask Him to work things out for our best if we only trust Him in all things.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
