So, Scripture says "Jacob I have loved , Esau I have hated. " Do you think feelings that God is disgusted with us, a feeling of guilt that our sins have separated him from us, feeling unclean or ashamed, abandoned, or feelings that God is angry at us are ever feelings that God wants us to have or at least accurate Notions?

IMO, God does make us feel guilty when we do things He doesn't approve of.  I believe it's one way He tries to draw us back to Him.  And remember, once we repent of whatever it is we're doing, He will forgive us. I have experienced this many times.

Jacob was as guilty as Esau, but Jacob repented and ultimately put his faith in God, whereas Esau did not.  God hated Esau because eventually Edom (Esau's kingdom) would become one of the bitterest enemies of Israel.

God has placed (1) the conscience within us (2) the Word of God before us and (3) the Holy Spirit within us, all of them to convict us of our sins. Unregenerate sinners, by definition are guilty before God.  But when a sinner repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, sins are remitted and guilt is removed.

However, each time a believer sins subsequently, he or she must confess and repent.  So guilt is like physical pain.  It reveals that there is an underlying issue which needs to be addressed.

When we truly do commit an act(s) of sin.  Then if we have a conscience toward God we will feel guilty and separated from him as our fellowship is thus broken until repentance is made and we once again are reconciled in our relationship with the Father.  But if one has let their conscious toward God become seared or hardened toward God and they will not repent of their sins not allowing guilt of sin to bring them to a place of repentance then they will remain under the wrath of God.

However there is a false since of guilt also that is from Satan when we feel guilty over something we had no control over.  In other words we can wear the shame and guilt of another person such as the sins and shame of bad abusive parents as we grew up in a bad enviroment.   We may not have committed the sins of our parents growing up but nevertheless we can wear the shame of say an alcoholic father or a physically abusive mother who makes you feel every thing that is bad going on is your fault.  If Satan can make a person believe they are guilty before God by using a false since of shame and guilt of another.  Then Satan can make us think our relationship or fellowship with the Heavenly Father is broken which will cause us to stay away from God and we will not seek him.  So we need to be sure if our guilt and shame and all the bad feelings we do have is coming from the actual sins we have committed ourselves and that they are not coming from another source of false condemnation from others as Satan will play on the feelings we have.

As far as Jacob and Esau goes.  God took the 12 sons born to Jacob and created the nation of Israel a people whose God was the Lord a nation after God whom he loved.  On the other side Jacob's brother Esau would be the father of the nation of Edom which was and became a heathen nation which God hated idolatry.  The nation of Edom did not follow God as the nation of Israel that he created from Jacob's 12 sons who were the 12 patriarchs of the twelve tribes of Israel a people set apart unto God.

I think many people take the saying "Jacob have I loved and Esau have I hated" in a wrong context not knowing the history surrounding the two nations especially the creation of the nation of Israel by God himself.  God hates the unrighteousness of any person or nation but still loves an unrighteous person or nation that will turn and repent calling on the name of the Lord believing and confessing that Jesus died, was buried and arose on the third day.  God will forgive them imputing the righteousness of God unto them as happened to Abraham as he believed the Lord and it was counted to him as righteousness.

I don't think God is ever "disgusted" with us......imo

Referring to Jacob & Esau is not accurate, you may be mis-understanding what that is all about and it is not about hatred or disgust on Gods part,,,,,,,,,you should try to keep Scripture verses within context,,,,,,,,

I do think that the Holy Spirit will convict a persons heart so we know we are not  and really doing(,acting ,saying, feeling, living etc,,,) as we should be or can be as Christians,,,,,,,,as far as feeling disgust, guilt, depression & those sort of "emotions",they are not "of God",,,,,,I believe Morning Glory explained it well,,,,,,

We have to be careful of emotions, the heart & mind is made of flesh, unreliable,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,carnal mindedness will bring these feelings on ,that is the enemy's playground,,,,,,,,,,,,,,being Spirit or Eternal minded comes by the Heart & Mind of Jesus, walk in Spirit & in Truth,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,                                   With love-in Christ,Kwik

Very good point from all who have already shared.

Yes. I remember being confused also when I first read the story of Jacob and Esau, but what has been written above, pretty much explains it all.

Yes I think God has given us all a conscious, its what we do with it that makes the difference in our lives.

Yes a conscious can become seared, if it keeps away from yielding to God for help, forgiveness, His wisdom and guidance.

Also there is anxiety that can come and be as bad as feeling guilt.

Anxiety is another way that God is calling us to get closer to Him.

There are many scriptures in the old and new testament that speak about not feeling anxious or fearful but to place all trust in the Lord and ask for His help in overcoming.

I heard a christian pastor once say, that anxiety is a way that God has given us as a warning sign that we are not fully trusting Him but allowing our fears to overtake us.

I have all my life struggled on and off with anxieties and fears, but today I am better equipped with the armor of God to overcome when these feeling begin to creep in again.

Whenever we feel anxious or guilty, this is a good  sign from the Lord that we need to draw closer to Him.

A couple of years ago,  a person who lives near where i live and who is also my mechanic, decided to kill his dog, because he got fed up with it and did not want his dog anymore.

I loved this dog so much and would go and visit and play with it when I went over.

I even told that man that if he ever did not want his dog, to please let me know and that I would take it in or try to find a home for him.

Well one day I went to say hello and the man told me that he shot his dog.

I was to struck by pain and  sorrow filled emotions when he told me, I told him that I had to leave, because I was not feeling well at all.

I experienced the worst pain and sorrow that evening and had one of the worst panic attracts ever. I felt I could not breath.

I called a 24hre prayer line and asked for prayer. Thank goodness this christian prayed with me, it helped me to draw me closer to God and calm down.

Also in those days following the anxiety would creep back in and also I began to hate the man who killed his dog.

Long story short, I had to drop resentment/judgement on the man who killed his dog and find forgiveness in my heart for this man.

And so once I did this, I was able to see this man again without judgement. The judgement was left for God to deal with.

Also the anxiety stopped. Also this man seeing that I had no judgment towards him, started to feel his own guilt for what he did. And tried in his own way hid sorrow for what he did. From being able to keep my own objectivity towards the situation without judgment on him and remaining clam and trusting in Him and His Word, my anxiety and hatred left and  it made the man who killed his dog be able to look at his own self as I was not making judgements on him.

Now this man could also have had no remorse for what he did, but whatever this man chooses to do with his conscious, is between him and God, just as what I decide to do with my own conscience is between me and God.

I can choose to live in hate or I can choose to live in Gods love.

I don't know if my story makes any sense to you all , but this happening, helped me to grow closer to God.

I had the choice to give my concerns to God or keep my concerns to myself and ruminate in them and get to feel so bad and so sick.

This was a great experience, learning curve in my life to let go and give all my concerns and judgements over to God.

God can free us of guilt, anxieties and fears, and when we feel these, they are just a reminder to us from God to draw closer to God and trust Him more than our own understanding of things.

Dropping resentments, dropping guilt, dropping judgement and giving all these to God is the way to living in His peace and overcoming our selves.

the story that Christ Jesus gives of the man who owed money top one and what he did to the other who owed him money, is a very good lessen that by Grace we have been save not of ourselves but from Gods Love, Mercy and Grace.

Can be found in Parable of the Unforgiving Debtor : Matthew 18v 21-35

If we can't forgive our brother, neither will God forgive us.

Only God can truly judge the heart of another.

When we play judge towards others, we are taking Gods place.

For sure God Gave us a way to live by and its written in his Word.

Abiding in His is the way to live in His peace.

Proverbs 3:5

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.

6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight

In Scripture, when It the word "Hate" is used in relation to GOD or Christ, it means to "love less." Such as when Christ said that we must Love Him and hate our parents He was telling us that we must love Him more than we love our parents.

Good post, 1to3.  We should feel guilt when we sin against Him.  We should also remember the following, from your post, when we are tempted to pass judgment on others...........

"When we play judge towards others, we are taking Gods place."

John 16:27 (AV)

27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

Isaiah 54:9–10 (AV)

9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

1 John 2:1 (AV)

1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1 John 1:5–10 (AV)

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 2:12–17 (AV)

12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Best two passages I know of in the Bible to confess our sins to God are Psalm 51 and Psalm 38 (bear in mind they were written under the Old Covenant and contain some things that no longer apply like the Holy Spirit being taken from us, or God's anger).

There is otherwise no anger or guilt. I would say was passes for guilt these days in believers is being out of fellowship with God. Crummy place to be!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
