Then it would be better that Prez Trump drop the "I have the absolute right" rationale!

What would be better is if you stopped trying to assign false values to things other people say and misrepresent them just so you have something to knock down.

Actually longer than January.   It's not about just a tweet.  It is about your constant slander and character assassination of Trump,  who has turned out not to be the man you dishonestly tried to portray him as.  You and his other critics on this board have been wrong about just about everything, up to this point.

Indeed they have.  I'm waiting for the acknowledgements.  :emot-headphones:

According to Exec Order 13526, POTUS can declassify anything. But what Trump said was that he had the "absolute right" to do so!

And he does.  Check the law on that point, OS2.  Why are you trying to argue that he doesn't have that right?  You are wrong.  From a NY  Times article by Charlie Savage yesterday:

Did Mr. Trump have legal authority to disclose the information?

"Yes. The designation of information as a restricted national security secret is considered part of the president’s constitutional powers as commander in chief. Because the classified information system was not established and is not regulated by congressional statutes, Mr. Trump has the power to declassify or disclose anything he wants."

“The classification system is not based on a law,” said Steven Aftergood, a government secrecy specialist with the Federation of American Scientists. “It is an expression of presidential authority, and that means that the president and his designees decide what is classified, and they have the essentially unlimited authority to declassify at will. The president defines the terms of the security clearance system and the parameters that determine who may be given access to classified information.”

With a president, not a ruler with absolute powers in spite of Trump' s claim to have "absolute authority" as president to declassify secret material?

Governing authorities is the scripture. A President meets that standard. And the law gives a President the right to declassify classified documents at their discretion. Obama had that power. And President Bush 43 signed the E.O in 2003. E.O. 13292 which amended the prior E.O 12958

Trumps use of classified material during a meeting with some other Head-of-State is nothing new to the office...

presidents do that all the time. The use of it is not illegal nor does it automatically "declassify" the material. To

make absurd statements like I've read here is really disheartening and clear meant to malign Trump for mean-spirited

reasons.
