actually the angel of the Lord is melchizedek who appeared to abraham, and this prophesy of a child is for the future and he cant be running around in the old testament if he hasn't been born. i do agree that he is a prince who fights the evil of his day.

to Christians there is no other king besides Jesus, but rev 12 prophesies the birth of a child, one who will rule with an iron sceptre which he also states in rev 2 and 19.

One place to begin in understanding this, is the book of Micah.

The Ruler to Be Born in Bethlehem

5  Now muster your troops, O daughter of troops;
    siege is laid against us;
with a rod they strike the judge of Israel
    on the cheek.
2  But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
    who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
    one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old,
    from ancient days.
3 Therefore he shall give them up until the time
    when she who is in labor has given birth;
then the rest of his brothers shall return
    to the people of Israel.
4 And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord,
    in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great
    to the ends of the earth.
5 And he shall be their peace.

As to the one who rules with an iron rod, there is little doubt in scripture.

The Reign of the Lord's Anointed

Psalm 2   Why do the nations rage
    and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
    and the rulers take counsel together,
    against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us burst their bonds apart
    and cast away their cords from us.”

4 He who sits in the heavens laughs;
    the Lord holds them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
    and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6 “As for me, I have set my King
    on Zion, my holy hill.”

7 I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
    today I have begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
    and the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron
    and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”

So, who is the only begotten Son of God?  Pretty easy to answer that question.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

And back to the rod of iron again...

Revelation 19:11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself.13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. 14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. 15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

There is little doubt as to who the Word Of God is, or who is King of kings and Lord of lords.  That is the child spoken of in Revelation 12, the only begotten Son of God, born in Bethlehem, and prophesied to rule with a rod of iron.

God bless

Melchizedek does not become Michael the Archangel.  People do not turn into angels.

Daniel 10, an angel comes to Daniel to help his interpret a vision.  Daniel had been praying for 21 days over this.

He tells Daniel that he is late - 21 days late - because he had to fight the "prince of Persia" - a demonic power over Persia.  He also tells Daniel that when he goes back, that he will have to not only fight the "prince" of Persian but also the "prince" Greece - another demonic force over  a nation.

He says that no one  helps him except with this except Michael, Daniel's prince or if you want to extend that further, the prince - or angelic protector over the tribes of Judah and Benjamin who are enslaved in Babylon..  Michael, the archangel, is not the king of the Jews.  That was Christ.

Where does the Bible say that Melchizedek was an angel?  The Bible  says he was a king.  Specifically, a king of Salem. He was not the Lord.  He was not an angel.  He was a man serving as a priest.

Genesis 14:18-20

After his [Abraham's] return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, ……………………... 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) 19 And he blessed him and said,

Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
    Possessor of heaven and earth;
20 and blessed be God Most High,
    who has delivered your enemies into your hand!”

And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

That's all we know of that encounter.

The Lord met with Abraham at his tent in Genesis 18.  Not Melchizedek..

He has no mother or father or offspring....     he has no beginning of days nor end of life....    he was made like the "son of God".      "Son of God" can't be Jesus because Jesus had a mother.  He can't be a human for all life was destroyed in the flood except for Noah and his family.

He was some kind of heavenly being that had always existed before the time and space universe was built.  Calling him an Angel would be very short sighted for that term is pretty much misused as a catch all for any being from the spiritual dimensions.

In my personal opinion he was one of the watchers that did not fall and turn against the Godhead.....     but that is only speculation on my part.

Heb 7:1-3

7 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham as he was returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, 2 to whom also Abraham apportioned a tenth part of all the spoils, was first of all, by the translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace. 3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he abides a priest perpetually.

Who walked in the Garden. Who did Adam and Eve talk to. Jesus Christ or the invisible God. The same can be said for the King of Salem.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
