The head of Iran’s air force has warned that Tehran is ready to “confront” and “eliminate” Israel. His fighting words come after Israel launched air raids on alleged Iranian targets inside Syria, killing 4 Syrian soldiers.

Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, the commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF), issued the provocative statement to the Young Journalist Club news agency, according Iranian media.

“The young people in the air force are fully ready and impatient to confront the Zionist regime and eliminate it from the Earth,” he said. “Our future generations are learning required know-how for the promised day to destroy Israel,” he added.

He stressed that Iran’s high level of military preparedness has deterred the country’s enemies from attacking the Islamic Republic.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended his nation’s decision to strike targets inside Syria on Monday, describing the air raid as retribution against those who wish to destroy Israel.

“We are operating both against Iran and against the Syrian forces that are abetting the Iranian aggression,” Netanyahu said in a speech. “We will strike at anyone who tried to harm us. Whoever threatens to eliminate us, bears full responsibility.”

Israel is believed to have fired dozens of missiles and guided bombs at targets inside Syria over the last 48 hours, purportedly targeting Iranian forces stationed in the country.

The strikes have killed four Syrian soldiers and left six others injured, the Russian Defense Ministry has said, as well as causing damage to Damascus International Airport. The ministry claims that Syrian forces have intercepted 30 Israeli missiles over the past 48 hours.

Brigadier General Naqdi.........This is the man who was the top commander of the Basij, the paramilitary made up of one-million-plus zealots who almost overwhelmed Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi military back in the 1980’s. Apparently he is now the deputy commander of the entire IRGC.

Most people would only see Naqdi’s statements as so much rhetoric that doesn’t mean anything, for America would never let Naqdi’s threats be realized.

However, those who know the Signpost interpretation can see Naqdi’s statements as looking like a list to be checked off on the IRGC’s agenda, for what is to happen during the Second Signpost.

Naqdi:

“If we gave the order to a division in any of our 30 provinces, it would be able to defeat and destroy Saudi Arabia. It’s true that Saudi Arabia has many advanced weapons, but it cannot face an army like Iran’s.”

“Nor was there anyone to rescue” (Dan. 8:4)

Naqdi:

“America will not launch a war against Iran. If it does – a possibility that I rule out – we will destroy all its military bases in the region. We currently stand before the gates and barbed wire [surrounding those bases], and if they make a wrong move, we will cross those barbed wire fences.”

Psalm 83 War, “Come, they say, let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more.” (Ps. 83:4 NIV 1984)

Naqdi, as all other IRGC soldiers and officers are devoted to the notion of spreading Iran’s Revolution all over the Muslim nations. I wrote about this in chapter 10 of Daniel Revisited. This is why Naqdi said,

“We were, we are, and we will continue to be the soldiers of Imam Khamenei, until our last breath and until the last drop of our blood.”

An Exaggeration

There is one thing Naqdi said that was beyond what he himself will do:

“I, myself, will hoist the flag of the Islamic Revolution in Jerusalem, Allah willing.”

That will not happen until the Antichrist’s armies surround Jerusalem and enter the Temple area in the middle of the seventieth week. The flag of the “Islamic Revolution” will be different as well.

Conclusion

It is amazing to me that here we see yet another IRGC commander or spokesman speaking plainly of the Second Signpost. The Second Signpost is coming more and more into plain sight. Yet, the world and even the church does not see it. This is why the Second Signpost will be a true black swan event, not seen by the world at large, and yet you bet people will say it was obvious after it happened.

Only those who are paying attention to the details in Bible prophecy (e.g. Dan. 8:17, 19) can see it.

It is only at this final point that Revelation’s horses can ride because that is when the “mountains of bronze” are formed.

This then gives us a rough timetable for the release of the four horses as “close” to the 70th Week, and after the Iranian invasion and after Turkey’s counterattack of Iran and after the division of Turkey into 4 sub-nations. Because none of these events have happened yet, we can surmise that none of the seals have opened yet as well. These events are all yet future.

This must be farther in the future than you think, probably around Newton's 2065 figure for the "End  of the Age"*. I say this, because Iran doesn't have a big enough army yet to fullfil the army in Revelation after the Euphrates dries up. Even China couldn't march an army that large even if they wanted to. Now if Pakistan allied with Iran, they could conceivably launch an army 200 million strong in a few more generations (generation ~ 20 years).

 

* I wouldn't take this too seriously, everyone who tried to forecast the end of the Age from Revelation and Daniel has failed in the past.

 

An army of 200 million soldiers is easy to defeat: Just launch a few well-placed nukes and viola, the largest army in the history of the world goes bye-bye.

Iran's invasion of the Middle East is a different war than the Armageddon War you are referring to. It's a precursor to the Antichrist's revealing. Read Daniel Chapter 8. The Ram (Iran) goes west, north and south. He's confronted by the male goat (Turkey) which takes him down. It's out of this war that the Antichrist comes to power.

The 200 million army is an army of demons, not men.

Alexander is the first king and the confrontation between the ram and the goat happened 2300 years ago. What has not yet happened is,

"In the latter part of their reign, when the rebellion has reached its full measure, an insolent king, skilled in intrigue, will come to the throne. 24 His power will be great, but it will not be his own. He will cause terrible destruction and succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men along with the holy people. 25 Through his craft and by his hand, he will cause deceit to prosper, and in his own mind he will make himself great. In a time of peace he will destroy many, and he will even stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be broken off, but not by human hands." - Dan 8:24-25

It's possible this will be Iran, as you say. It would fit with the rise of the little horn from that region of the world, which as far as I'm concerned is a must.

I'm looking into the future when the alliance between Turkey and Greece is formed. It's a possibility.

A further study......

The Aramaic word for "Greece" is Yavan (Strongs #3120). Yavan, in Genesis 10, is a son of Japheth, a son of Noah. The descendants of  Yavan are the people around the Greek Peninsula, Crete, and the west coast of Turkey. So the modern nation where the descendants of Yavan reside is Turkey.

So, the Shaggy Goat represents the King of Yavan, Turkey.

Turkey is a member of NATO, and has the largest military of any NATO member, except that of the USA. A leader of modern Turkey would qualify as "the king of Yavan" in Daniel 8:21.

If we look at Daniel 8:17, the Angel Gabriel tells Daniel...." Son of man, understand that the vision concerns the time of the end"

Twice, we are told that the vision occurs at the time of the end. In Daniel 8:19, the Angel Gabriel again tells Daniel...

"I am going to tell you what will occur at the final period of indignation, for it pertains to the appointed time of the end"

Well, in my personal studies about the flow of civilization after the flood it seems there aren't really  definitive parameters about the regions where people groups settled. Depending on the historian the same people groups in consideration have a wide range of possible locations. Not saying you're incorrect, just that there are questions.

But why pick Turkey when the evidence is both the Greek Peninsula and the west of Turkey?

Possibly at the time the the prophecy was to be fulfilled Greece was the power in the region and there was no Turkey. I'd have to look into that.

I'll have to stick with the historical fulfillment and my earlier  statement,

"23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand."

So only in the latter time of the kingdoms does the above occur where the succession of Persia to Greece is in antiquity. Which would not contradict; 

"19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end [shall be]."
