Is it ok to expect nothing?

So, rather than implying negativity of God's character and promises towards you, reassess how you perceive things negatively. If not for yourself, for the sake of your witness and responsibility to others. 

Again, seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit (I know we have talked about this before). He will help you, strengthen you, and comfort you in a tangible way to put to bed this fear and doubt. Seek Him out, in the name of Jesus, above all things.

I've already been baptized.  I'm not sure what being baptized again will do.

And I don't understand what you mean in the first portion of your sentence.

God does want the best for us.  Those who are poor in the world's estimation are often rich in spiritual blessings such as faith, peace, love and joy.  Look at Jesus--nowhere to lay His head.  So be careful about the things you hope for.  Just ask that God's will be done in your life, and that your heart be change to see life as He sees it.

Figure, there is a chorus we used to sing in Sunday School so long ago, but it goes like this. "It is joy unspeakable and full of Glory, full of Glory, full of Glory. It is joy unspeakable and full of Glory, that the half has never yet been told." That is what we have to look forward to when Jesus takes us home, there is so much more of Him and what He has in store for us , we will all stand in awe of Him. Standing on the promises of God, I know this is getting away from the intent of this post, but I feel you need to know that God sees you , YOU are Precious in His sight, He loves you SO MUCH that He sent His Son to bring You back into a right living, loving relationship with Him, Trust and OBEY, for there's No other way, to be Happy in Jesus, but to trust and Obey.
