All this is assuming that salvation is a one-time transaction. The biblical salvation is a deliverance in a particular situation. So if you are healed of a disease...that is salvation. A broken arm is healed...a deliverance. A demon chased away? That is salvation.

A ship sinking....and a survival as per Paul's experience on Malta? A salvation. All who remained in the ship were saved. Were these eternally saved by remaining in the ship? Of course not. The biblical salvation is always in that situation...not forever.

I think what is too often confused is salvation and eternal life.

Eternal life is a KIND of life that is found by walking in the Spirit as we enter into Jesus Christ to abide in Him. If we drink His blood...partake of His life...we have HIS life in us...an eternal life.  And this is for as long as we partake of Him.

salvation is something that is an ongoing process. Like when the Israelites came out of Egypt. Were they saved through the Red Sea? Yes! But was that a one-time salvation transaction? Of course not. Almost all the people that were once saved didn't survive the process of being saved TO the promise.

So then we must endure to the end to be saved as Jesus said. Right now we are BEING saved...from conformity to the flesh to conformity to the Spirit.

Unless one understands these distinctions much confusion arises. If we walk in the Spirit we are walking in the present salvation of a deliverance from the sins we would normally be doing if we were walking according to the flesh.

And this idea that holiness or sanctification is optional?....it is like saying after a person is saved from a physical death breathing is preferable but not necessary.

To think of a salvation without holiness is like a salvation without God. So then eternal salvation is the process of living a holy life after being redeemed away from this world by Jesus Christ.

The latest in a 2000 year string of “ false gospels”. I don’t need to hear anymore. You are in my prayers.

Oye... :bored-1:

Sorry @Pekoudah but I'm going to stop following this post now.  It started really interesting but ended in same old nonsense.

I assume I will now been seen as a heretic by some, who may say "What?! Are you calling the saving blood of Jesus and the gospel nonsense!?"  But whatever, I can't be bothered to debate with some in here.

I'm out.

Just like the Bible says..... “ there is Power in the Gospel”  The pure, simple Gospel Of Grace has the Power to knock some down as if they were bowling pins .Even that dreaded 7-10 spare is no match for God’s Wondrous Way Of Salvation.NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD for our Salvation .Only one Plan .Some need to get with the Plan.

Salvation (Justification) is a one-time transaction.   You seem to be confusing it with Sanctification, a process continuing throughout our lifetime.

No.

Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

Replace "No" with "Yes"

- Yes,  Salvation (HEALING)(SAME WORD IN SCRIPTURE) comes through faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

That can be true.   Not always though.    Many times in life salvation in Scripture is daily, not one time.

Were you saved yesterday from the gang deaths ?   From plague ?  (measles?)  How?  by death-dealing society, by evil men in the world system,  or by JESUS ?

Eternal means forever

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Actually, it doesn't matter if eternal means forever or not.   (in English)

In Scripture it is often mis-translate , probably,  to accomodate such doctrines as men like.

Jesus says "BE TERRIFIED" (to believers in Hebrews),  lest any one of you in your midst (believers) fails to make it...

And with MANY other warnings throughout ALL SCRIPTURE,  and by His Spirit, in Jesus,  Yahuweh (God) exhorts the assembly of believers to BEWARE - so that no one become deceived by sin again,  and fall short of receiving eternal life.

In my limited reasoning I think in an analogy; the fear of the Lord is something akin to knowing or standing before your own parent (dad) growing up. Your Dad has told you previously to do something and you didn't, or you know you did something wrong and maybe he found out about it. You're standing there as a child, much smaller; in awe of your Dad's strength and in fear of what he is about to say or do as corrective action. But, in our Heavenly Father's case, magnified many more times.

As an old geezer I brought this up at a recent Wednesday Bible study. Growing up and in my early adult life; it appeared to me that even the vast majority of atheists, hardened criminals, crooked politicians and the general public at least had some sort of fear and respect for God. I see no semblance of the 'fear of the Lord' in our general secular society today. I can't count the number of times people 'swearing to God' and lying through their teeth I see almost daily. The number of people that take an oath and immediately break it and had no intention of following that oath / promise to begin with. Our government leaders having no 'fear of the Lord' in passing legislation and laws that are an "abomination" to the Lord.

Looking around today and seeing the secular world, how people have lost common sense, wisdom and morality; how that lack of wisdom and morality are now reflected in our laws [hate crimes, calling evil good and good evil, socialism, all inclusiveness, there are no losers, etc.) Has a good percentage of people in this country and globally now been turned over to their own lusts of their flesh and debased minds?

There are many doctrines circulating that would have us to not fear the Lord...like everything is a done deal.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
