Is it possible that you really do want to do whatever "it" is? If so, you already have a "yes" in you, and you could be looking for a "yes" from God so you can do this whatever "it" is.

In my own life have found that it's actually very hard for me to hear God's direction when I am in the frame of mind where I really want to hear a "yes." It's when I completely let go of my personal desire/agenda and get to the place where I don't care what the answer is, that I can hear God clearly. The key for me is wanting to please God and do whatever He wants me to do, rather than being focused on what I want to do. And even when I get my heart lined up with His, sometimes/often there is still a period of waiting on Him.  I think He uses these times to decrease me and increase Him.

I don't know if that makes a bit of sense to you, Filip. It's just how God has worked in my life in these situations.
May He bless you to hear and be guided by His Spirit.

Hi @Filip

Perhaps deep down you don't want to do "it"? If that's the way your heart is leading, then that's the Holy Spirit working in you, to not do it.

My mother used to say; "If in doubt, cut it out". Meaning not to do the thing you are unsure about.

I will pray for you.

God Bless you.

Becky.

For me,I just know in my heart, when the Lord wants me to do something..

Why would it start an argument,Filip?

God,I believe places tasks on my heart to do....do you feel doubt?

A lot of people "know in the heart" that they are doing what their 'god' wants them to do,  even when they are killing others they think they are doing 'god' a favor !

So test everything,   by God's Word,   and be certain everything is in line with His Word,  not just "in my heart".

The arguments on all the various websites/forums/ chatrooms are often because the heart is so deceitful and vain.

Interesting thread...

i recently had a similar experience if you don’t mind me sharing. I will try to cut corners here..

First, I had an ultrasound done to test all the arteries of the body for plaque (except coronary arteries). One artery, carotid, showed mild plaque.  I have high cholesterol and dad had issues with his heart.

My doc then advised me to have a Calcium Coronary Test that measures your coronary arteries (around heart) for plaque.  My score was 259 for the Left Anterior Descending artery, also known as LAD, also known as the Widowmaker artery. If you have blockage in this one that leads to an “event” it is usually the one that puts you six feet under and your spouse a widow.

Any score from 100-400 means intermediate danger with a 14% chance of having “an event” within 10 years. When I left the docs office, I was very concerned and spent all night doing research on this. I have tried two different statins but both caused me multiple side effects and my cholesterol wasn’t even lowered with one of them.

okay, here is the good part......after a restless night of sleep,I woke up and prayed the Philippines 4 chapter prayer when anxious to the Lord. I really want to live my life in peace and obviously don’t want to feel like I’m a walking time bomb......so while teeing off on the golf course this morning, I asked the Lord for a sign that He has this and everything is all right and for me to relax, be at peace, and don’t fret.

Well, I made a long putt for a birdie on both hole one and two and subsequently finished the day with my best ever score on this course.....a +2.  My putting was especially and surprisingly awesome.Lord, was that my sign?

I actually think it is! What better way of giving me a sign than to allow me to do something I NEVER DO....putt like a man who is possessed (with the HS of course)!  I repeat for emphasis, my putting is and has always been the worst part of my game. Yet today, I made two putts from JUST OFF THE GREEN, made 2 putts 20-30 feet and every putt I missed was just so close, just barely wide.

So, was it God answering my prayer and my request for a sign? I absolutely believe it was!

You don’t have to answer.....just sharing this great story....but you can add whatever you like.....I trust any response is coming from a good heart with good intentions. After all, we are family here, right?

The Holy Spirit is my guide, not man.

i recieved the biggest measure of faith over 27yrs ago....the God that dwells in my soul,is a God of Love...my calling has been to spread the word...help,care,and serve others...that is what I do....with no "doubt" what so ever...praise my Father in Heaven!.

If someone is born again, set apart by the Father,  then their life should be in line with the Father's Word, and they are seeking His Kingdom in line with His Word, as Jesus often says.    If the life is not in line with all the Scripture,  but contradicts Yahuweh's Word , Plan and Purpose,

then it is false ,  regardless of how long it has been lived.

Desiring money,  abnormal or out-of-marriage sex, or worldly power, or accumulating and trusting this world's goods,  are the most common indicators someone is not in Christ.

I figure answers can be yes, no or wait.  When silence, that is often wait because it is not in God's timing.  It is hard to learn not to go ahead of God and do things in our own strength but to wait for His time.  I think of Moses who was told he would rescue his people from the Egyptians so he went out and killed one that was abusing a Hebrew.  For that he spent 40 years in the wilderness till he learned not to do things in his own strength and wisdom.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
