Not sure this isn't a bunny trail.... but time is an illusion , no matter when it is, it is always now. Our eternity is now. But our Eternity in the presence of God, will be much better,

1 Corinthians 13:  12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

I honestly believe it goes even deeper than that.  Realizing and believing we ENTERED eternity, once for all the very day we were born again.  Understanding, believing in and beginning to walk in all that really  means for here and now is what will produce in us what He needs out of His end time army....

Entering eternity is both a functional and IMMEDIATE reality, for those who will just believe.  We are already  seated at His  right hand in the heavenlies...the only  thing that prevents us from effectively  realizing all that means is unbelief.

Hi missmuffet and all,

I don't mind speculation on eternity future. I do so  at random times. I do so when someone says streets of Gold. For I think it is street of Gold. I think of light without dark and speculate how gold might also illuminate. I speculate on the many houses or groups or bodys within my Lord's father's house. I wonder about the golf course, and even about craft beer at the nineteenth hole.

I once did two 10 foot  by 8 ftoot murals for a kids church play depicting heaven's  light and hell's darkness. A which road are you on theme was in play.  For light and heaven I depicted a walled city with an open gate and Harold's trumpeting arrivals.  Amongst the double line of many trumpeters I inserted a smaller trained seal  on a circus stool also trumpeting, just for the kids to see up close. And I did the golf course and the 19th hole too.

The darkness was much like a carnival at night, with ticket taker booth barkers at oddly lit attractions and bad uncomfortable looking street of darkness and tried to depict heat.

The kids loved it the teachers surprisingly cherished the humor and kept it safe fter the performance for future use. I was dumbfounded to many months later be watching  a tv ad for a bank and see both scenes almost as I had painted them is part of their ad on investing with them or failing to do so. e lived where ad producers reside. I thought well maybe, or maybe not but that is very weird. I kinda find it funny.

And I have been around church studies on the subject and even spent  a couple years listening and watching Mean Gene Scott God's angry man talk about it too.

The Wordless book Song includes  the lyric "My heart was dark with sin, until the savior came in, His precious blood I know has washed me white as snow. And in His word I'm told I'll walk the street of Gold; oh wonderful wonderful day he washed my sins away.

I used to sing to and with the class of retarded adults that were learning the word of God. They really enjoyed it when we got to the yellow page of  the wordless book . For in that time we shared that the most wonderful thing about heaven is that God the Father and His Son and the Holy Spirit are there.... Heaven is a happy place. The Lord Jesus is getting it ready for you his flock now.

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom Luke12:32 . We would then discuss and speculate on the word from Revlation 21:21-27, Revelation 22:1-5 Isaiah 11:6,, 7 John 3:16 John 14:1

Most lived in group care homes. They would be very excited to learn of the street of Gold and Jesus being there at heaven making a nice place for them. They would cheer when we sang - walk the street of gold.

So yes upon review I have spent likely a lot of time in speculation of heaven and in joyous anticipation, along with a great group of adults that by necessity had to keep things simple- yet they knew and appreciated what our Lord has done and is is doing for us that know Him as Lord.

Hi missmuffet,

I don't think much about how life will be like in heaven, since we will be there only a very short time.

But life in the millennium, well that's a whole other thing.

I think about how life will be here on earth for the 1000 years we will be here. How it will be like having Jesus here with us. All the projects we can be doing for 1000 years, all the building, beautifying, landscaping etc. I know what I have done in the few short years.....imagine 1000 years....with a body that doesn't get tired or ache.

Just imagine.....

I am thinking we will help Jesus rule the world for an eternity not just in heaven. But there will be a new earth and new heaven.

@Sower :amen: I've been thinking along the same lines, brother. In fact, I just posted a poem I wrote on General Discussion earlier. It is called "Fully Free." The second & third verses are in keeping with your post. :)

Where do you think we will be after that?  Just curious.

Hi Jayne,

Well, to be honest, I haven't thought that far ahead......:)

Since there will be a new earth and new heavens, ..........golly.....

I guess wherever our Lord is, then that's where we will be.

I can't imagine what the new earth will be like. Pure paradise?.....Maybe.

Scripture says that we have no idea what God has in store for us.

I don't know Jayne......what about you? What are your thoughts.

...Scripture says that we have no idea what God has in store for us...

Thats a very common misconception that hinders many.  Here's what  it really says:

Quote
but just as it is written,
“THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,
AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,
ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”

For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.  For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,

He didn't say we can't know.  He said we couldn't know by  what  our  natural senses can reveal.  Because they are  spiritually discerned...

Too many stop at verse 9...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
