Hello guys my name is Francois and I have a serious problem of being tempted many times of watching pornography please help me every day I pray telling God that I will never do it again but temptation still continues and I'm feeling depressed and guilty and ashamed for that bad habit  

Please help me pray for me and tell me how many times God can forgive you the same sin ?????????

Let me share a little bit of my vision for the ministry in a parable.

Let's say I'm throwing a big party and am inviting the world to the party (the forums) and I want everyone to have a great time, eating (reading through posts being fed), drinking (being encouraged to walk in His Word), and having fellowship with one another.  In Israel, we have Shabbat meals -- and whenever you have 2 Jews -- you have 3 opinions -- it's GREAT to be opinionated.  I encourage discussions ... but during our Shabbat meals ... we never ever get to the point in disagreements whereby food is being tossed and seriously yelling takes place!  And if someone comes into the meal ... and starts throwing food ... and yells at everyone -- what do you suppose the head of the Shabbat meal will do?  He'll escort those causing problems out of the house!  Why?  Because the whole reason for the gathering was to learn from one another ... to have a great time of fellowship!  

Some people like to constantly throw food and yell ... they won't last on Worthy ... because they missed the point of the party ... it's a prequel to the true party -- the Lamb's Supper!  

All I'm trying to provide is a place to allow true fellowship ... and discussions in love ... in the hopes it will be a catalyst for true REVIVAL based on REPENTANCE!

Hi Franco and welcome!   I asked that your topic be moved to the help area so more people will see it and answer you.

The Lord always forgives us no matter how much we might fall.   It's good that you are convicted by the Holy Spirit about this...that shows the Lord is working in you.   Confess it, then when the temptation comes, pray right away and resist the temptation.   Then try to do something else or talk to someone.   Just a few ideas for you....

My advice is to explore your life and identify where you’ve been hurt and allow yourself to feel that pain and to heal.  Usually addicting behavior begins by giving your brain something that feels good to cover or numb areas of hurt in your life.  Healing comes about by acknowledging the hurtful incident(s) and speaking about it to others and if needed getting support for that pain.  I believe working on what is causing you addiction will have a better success rate than trying to just stop viewing the porn.  Also, identify areas of stress ie: work, finances, loneliness, marriage…anything that triggers your need for the porn. I recently learned that the word addiction means "enslaved by" or bound by. If you are a believer in Christ, you can be set free from this with hard work and trust in the Lord. He has given us hope, strength and freedom!  I've also prayed to the Lord that he give you the means to release yourself from this sin. Please continue at Worthy for support.

It is the best of times and the worst of times for a guy.

Flesh to lust after is virtually everywhere.

Less than pornography, but sliding down the same

slippery slope...

And pornography  used to be limited to

red light districts, movie houses, magazines... etc.

But now you can get it piped into your home.

Lust is a powerful drive God placed in us to perpetuate our species.

God also gave us guidelines where and how to BEST relieve those strong urges 

(specifically: marriage).

The best thing you can do (short of a miracle) is force yourself to do something

else when the urge to click on what you know will end up in porn.

Get up, go to the other room, turn off the computer... every time the idea hits you...

it's called building discipline.

When it becomes a habit / discipline... guard it like a precious gem.

Sex is even more addicting than smoking and smoking is more addicting than

shooting heroine.

Lust is a formidable enemy. Treat it like such.

Or fail.
