COVID-19 Cure? Gilead Sciences' antiviral Remdesivir possibly cured the first known US COVID-19 patient; University of Nebraska and world clinical trials of remdesivir underway

(Scientific American link below) The antiviral Remdesivir possibly cured the original US COVID-19 patient, a 35 year old man from Washington State.  University of Nebraska and other clinical trials are being done with results due this April. Remdesivir was co-developed  several years ago by Gilead Sciences and US Army researchers as a (failed) treatment for Ebola.

{*(This paragraph contains disproven and very dangerous info.) I also heard that some US doctors are treating COVID-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine. French researchers said that a combo of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin was effective at reducing the amount of the COVID-19 coronavirus greatly in patients. Michigan's Henry Ford Hospitals use the trio of hydroxychloroquine, doxycycline and azithromycin to reduce the side effects on the heart, while a New York doctor uses the combo of hydroxychloroquine and doxycycline for coronavirus patients with severe heart problems and other co-morbidities. [ Hydroxychloroquine treats lupus and doctors have tenatively found that most lupus patients do not get COVID-19;but do not use hydroxychloroquine without doctor's advice. The combo of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin can cause irregular heartbeats!]}

EDIT: (JUNE 25/20):  *The above paragraph enclosed in red parenthesis contains information that has been scientifically proven by many peer-reviewd studies to be false and  DEADLY! Even the now famous New York doctor who has been hydroxychloroquine's strongest advocate (basing his views on the now disgraced and debunked French doctor Didier Raoult), has admitted on video that "1 in 500 " people will die from cardiac arrest by taking hydroxychloroquine, even as a preventative measure.

Peer-reviewed medical studies in the past couple of months have shown that coronavirus patients given HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE ALONE died at 2 and a half times the rate as those not given it. Patients given the combo of HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE and AZITHROMYCIN died at 2 times the rate as those not given this combo.

(I'm really sorry I didn't correct my mistake earlier. I had thought my warning about these drugs causing irregular heartbeats was enough but the the Holy Spirit moved me to be much clearer because of the many new studies , the French retraction. and the fact the FDA stopped approval of hydroxychloroquine  for coronavirus about 10 days ago.) I should have put a correction as soon as I saw a photo of  Dr. Didier Raoult-he looks like a hippy surfer  crossed with an Abba singer.

 

The giant New York biotech Regeneron  Pharmaceuticals said its Veloimmune technology will create antibodies against the coronavirus in several months.

It's interesting that Remdesivir's maker, American biotech Gilead Sciences, sounds very biblical-but not surprising .  After all the discoverer of bacteria and the founder of microbiology was the devout Dutch Christian, Antonie van Leeuwenhoek. Same for the founders of chemistry and physics, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, rocket science etc. -thanks only to their guidance from  Jesus. (91% of the greatest scientists and mathematicians were devout Christians-mostly Protestants.)

On another note, even secular sources admit that quarantine was first mentioned in history by the Bible(Leviticus 13:46.) Christ Jesus is truly the amazing God!

The first food ever eaten on the Moon was the bread and wine of Holy Communion. Many Bibles were taken to the Moon by the Apollo astronauts. In fact a bright red Bible remains on the Moon to this day, in a moon rover..

However don't you think the fact that medical scientists think homeopathy is not effective should cause one to avoid it?

My guess is that it will take years of clinical trials,since this drug has a potential to act on human DNA as well.   A nucleotice-analog substance might be a teratogen in humans.

Remdesivir is currently in at least one phase 3 trial. If results are as expected, it may be widely used within months, rather than years.

Yes, safety is a concern, but many commonly used antivirals are nucleoside analogs. Viral polymerases are frequently much more sensitive to their effects than cellular polymerases.
