The subject is a boring pointless subject.

 

All we need to know about the second coming is that Jesus will come and that he expects to find his people busy, active in serving him.

So stop reading these sites or if you met look spend the same amount of time on apologetic sites and on missionary sites.

Then get active gosipping the gospel to family friends etc and seeking areas to serve.

That's the point of the paper.  The identity of the two beasts of Revelation has little or nothing to do with the second coming.  They are archetypes of the two threats the church faces from the state, oppression and co-option.  I put it here because I fear much of the evangelical church has been co-opted by a political movement hostile to the current administration.  We need to have the attitude of living at peace with whatever government we have as long as they allow us to live and worship as we please.  We certainly don't want to be oppressed by our government, but we have no business trying to run it either.

I thank God we don't all have the same gifts or calling. I came to know Jesus through Revelation and all I have I owe to Him and am eternally grateful for all of it.

Can't get into the link but I believe Mystery Babylon (Mother of Harlots) riding the beast....is a picture of church and state being merged  (as opposed to separation of church and state).  Prophecy can have more than one layer of meaning but in Revelation the ten kings who give their power to the beast might, for one thing, have to do with church leadership giving their power to the beast (government)....because in the bible they are depicted as kings in type.....God never wanted Israel (ensample of the church) to have kings, like He never wanted churches to have "kings" (solo Priests/Pastors and Popes) because Christ is the only true and invisible Head of His church (which is supposed to function as a Body with many parts, not having schism in the body between greater and lesser gifts - between church leadership and so-called laity...see 1 Cor. 12).

Well basically it identifies the first and second beasts of revelation 13 as the early pagan and later christian Roman Empires, respectively.  It explains some of the symbolism found in revelation 13 but the thrust of the paper is that there are two great threats that the church faces from the State, oppression and cooption.
