I try but can't see what some see. The word "Christmas" whats your first thought? Mine? YESHUA/JESUS.. came to earth and I am happy blessed every moment of ever day. The song playing right now.. what are the odds "THANKFUL".. yes I am.. this is the day the lord has made" Why would I ever focus on anything other then Christ? Its a choice

Maybe some are looking at it because of Santa and the like are not being celebrated. To me makes me sad. In me is the desire to show them some how some way that Christ came to earth for them. Don't know about you but.. yeah I am not out there every day reminding them at school or the job or at the store about Christ.. yet that day Dec 25th one can remind them of the love GOD has for this world. I believe this not just feel it every day every moment. I have a choice.. I choose to think about .. to remember for God so loved the world He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him shall have ever lasting life. He didn't send Him to condemn the world but to save it.

So I kindly :) disagree

You're right, it's a choice.

Joshua 24:15 - And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

I guess you can come out now, but you mean you didn't even go to one of those boring candle light services?? Seriously though, if you are going to certain public places then expect some crowds because seems like a lot of people are still on Holiday "vacation". Either way there are some good things about this time of year such as focusing on helping the less fortunate and on others more than yourself, but unfortunately that seems to be rare now even among Christians, and it is basically an entirely family based holiday for the most part. Most charities almost have to beg for donations.

And even ultra Liberals believe in giving to the poor and goodwill to men, but that alone doesn't automatically make them kind-hearted people, at least not in a moral sense. And i've really always wondered about Revelation-11:10..."And they that dwell upon the earth shall REJOICE over them, and make MERRY,and shall send GIFTS to one another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth."  Hmmm...?

On New Year's Day, 1577, Pope Gregory decreed that all Roman Jews, under pain of death, must listen attentively to the compulsory Catholic conversion sermon given in Roman synagogues after Friday night services. This included Jews who believed in Messiah.

On New Year's Day, 1578, Gregory signed into law a tax, forcing Jews to pay for support of a house of conversion to convert Jews to Christianity.

On New Year's, 1581, Gregory ordered his troops to confiscate all sacred literature from the Roman Jewish community. Thousands of Jews were murdered in the campaign.

So throughout the Medieval and post-Medieval periods, January 1st—supposedly the day on which Jesus was circumcised (and that math is a little shaky)—is supposedly the day that Judaism died and Christianity took over. It was reserved for anti-Jewish activities: synagogue- and book-burning, public torture, and simple murder.

Now, Pope Gregory was not the first pope to use New Year's as a time of Jewish persecution. If you go back 1200 years earlier to 324 AD, Pope Sylvester convinced the Emperor Constantine to prohibit Jews from living in Jerusalem. The following year, at the council of Nicea, Sylvester arranged for the passage of a host of viciously anti-Semitic legislation. All Catholic saints are given a day—Sylvester is a "saint"—on which Christians celebrate a tribute to their memory. Guess which day is "Saint Sylvester Day"? December 31st. So, throughout Europe and the nation of Israel, the Jewish people of that part of the world, call New Year's Eve "Sylvester." To me, it shows something of the dark humor that the Jews are capable of.

I had no idea of the depth of perversion that surrounds this pagan celebration. "Let's ring in the new year by killing some Jews, burning some synagogues, and getting drunk because the earth is renewed and the sun is reborn. And, we will do some kissing as well." Let us not forget the kissing. At midnight on New Year's Eve, you get to kiss people, be they someone you know or strangers—whatever. It is another holdover from the Roman Saturnalia, and it is all part of the sexual part of pagan celebrations. The pagan celebrations always seem to bring sex into it somewhere.

It might not be a good idea to tell a Jewish Believer in Messiah Happy New Year. At least not unless it sometime in the beginning of April.

Oh, I'm sure someone will come up with something that's evil about New Years.

For myself, I'm going to make popcorn, stay off the roads, and listen to the explosives on New Years Eve. I say explosives because I'm pretty sure there's a line between fireworks and explosives. I'm also fairly sure some in my 'hood will likely cross that line. As in: Happy . . . BOOM! . . . New . . . BOOM! . . . Year!

I know of a certain church where many believe that elections, public schools, and participating in society in general (according to them) is "evil." Upon discovering this I ran - I did not walk - away. Glad to see that place in my rear view mirror.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
