10 Did Jesus participate in the creation?

To my way of thinking, the answer is no. Rabbi Yehoshua was not born when the creation was instigated and completed. How could he participate if not on the earth at the time? "In the beginning, G-d created the heavens and the earth". That statement was G-d in the singular.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Proverbs 8:23
From everlasting I was established, from the beginning, before the earth began.

John 1:2
He was with God in the beginning.

John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 8:58
"Truly, truly, I tell you," Jesus declared, "before Abraham was born, I am!"

John 17:5
And now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world

Proverbs 8:22-31

The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old…

Ephesians 3:9
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

1 John 1:1,2

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; …

1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

John 1:18

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Hi, Solly -

"Elohim" [God] in the first verse of the Bible is plural.  "Eloha" is singular.

Here is what orthodox Christianity teaches.

Jesus Christ, the Son, has always existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit.  They are three-in-one.  Not three Gods -the Bible says only one God with three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus was in existence before creation with God and BEING God.  John 1.

Jesus has no beginning or end.

He took on human flesh at a mere point in human history and for only 33 years.  That does not erase his eternal being prior to that or after that.

The Bible says that Jesus, the Son was the creator.

[1]  John 1:1-3 = " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made."

[2]  Colossians 1:16 = "For by him [Christ] all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him."

John 1:1-3'

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God and the word was with God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

ALL THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:14, And the Word became flesh . . . . . . (Jesus).

So He actually did create everything as the Word before He became flesh.

So He actually did create everything as the Word before He became flesh.

John also later says that he was in the form of God before becoming flesh.  And after his resurrection he prayed and received the same glory he had in the beginning (Godship)    I do believe he did set that aside while in the flesh....   at his own discretion.

I think I agree with Michael Heiser that we do not have the same understanding of the meaning of the word god as the ancient Hebrews and people of the time of Jesus in the flesh.   Makes understanding John 1:1-3 difficult to understand.

1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

One in unity in all things.

Scriptures clearly teach that the Word created, made, all things. Some believe all things were created by them, the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

John 1: 1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2, The same was in the beginning with God.

3, All things were made by HIM; and without HIM was not any thing made that was made. Notice the Scripture clearly states all things were made by HIM, not THEM, or by HIM, THE FATHER, AND THE HOLY GHOST.

And verse 10, He was in the world, and the world was made by HIM, and the world knew HIM not. The world He lived in knew the Father. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God and they killed HIM for it. God will hold men responsible for what He says, not for what alleged bible experts interpret His words to say.

Yes to all.  Yes, Jesus ate fish.  He even ate fish after his resurrection!

Luk 24:40  And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

Luk 24:41  And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?"

Luk 24:42  They gave him a piece of broiled fish,

Luk 24:43  and he took it and ate before them.

Not everyone feels secure when disagreeing with the main stream. It's the same in most forums and a few do get on their high horse if a reply does not slot nicely into their way of thinking; at least, that's my take on forums.

That was my thinking, and I am glad you took the time to "brave it", good for you!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
