Well . . . yes . . . and no . . . depends on the particular information we know nothing about here . . .

IF the person is gossiping, then yes. It appears that he is coming to the parents out of concern for the daughter, and the parents. He does point out the obvious, namely it is not right because it shows dis-respect for the parents and God. However, IF gossip is involved, then it needs to be stopped.

My wife and I have experienced 'wayward' children, and I can tell you that it is not fun. Prayer and compassion is what they need. Also, the daughter needs to experience the Holy Spirit's conviction power that leads to repentance (it appears that there is more than just church attendance going on)

So, are we our brothers keeper???  The obvious answer found in Genesis account of Cain and Able is 'yes' we are called to stand with each other and help each other. Sometimes it involves stating the obvious . . .

And yes . . . I am believing God for a couple of my kids to come back to the Lord . . .  Ray . . .

A really concerned person would have simply gone to the man in private and asked, " Is Anna ok? We haven't seen her for awhile".

Even if he has concerns about her lifestyle, this didn't have to be a part of the conversation. Furthermore, what constitutes a perfect Christian lifestyle when looking at the outside?  Christians sometimes dance, Christians sometimes have a drink. This doesn't mean we are living the party lifestyle. Even if is is found she is, I think this is mostly a matter of prayer if they see a concern. Not a thing to go around talking about.

Some churches disguise gossip calling it prayer request time. Sam has cancer, I wonder how long he'll live? Did you hear about Wanda? She left her husband.

If I read this correctly, Anna is 18.

Why didn't the originator of the text contact her?

Independence and self decision making is vital to a young man or woman.

Doing an end run around them to their parents would be perceived by her

as an insulting development.

This is a long time favorite scripture and for me would apply to this situation.  Jesus came to save the sinner.

It's fine for the person to be concerned about Anna and to discuss it with her parents.....    but to suggest they not let her live with them is so far over the line, it's off the Clift.  He should have already been praying for her and just told the dad/mom that he's already doing that.

People can be busy bodies when they should mind their own business. There may be reasons that she is not attending Church. Who she associates with and her lifestyle would be a better indication of where she is going. She needs to be prayed for asking God to open her heart to Him and that she will ask Jesus Christ into her heart. Perhaps a person could approach her and tell her they are concerned for her and ask her if everything is ok. That is all we can do. People have choices but with those choices they need to know that sometimes there are consequences. God is the only one who can change the heart.

If that picture bothers him, he should see all New Age, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, and other stuff in video games, shows, movies, and etc. these days.

The Eastern Religions are hard at work, Yoga their most popular evangelistic tool. (Yoga is major practice in Jainism, Buddhism, and Hinduism, look it up)

The man protesting in the text isn’t wrong. So the parents are ok with their offspring getting exposed to eastern stuff, but not presenting the gospel to their eighteen year old? How will their Anna learn of Christ if she does not hear?: “[13] For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”[14] How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? [15] And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:13-15). I mean kids these days have liturgies of eastern thought in their shows, but oh do not force them to hear about Jesus on Sunday! That’s coercion!

Pres. Obama was right, this is Post-Christian America.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
