1. Deals with the devil: No, Satan cannot own souls. All human souls are property of God and he does as he will to them: Ezekiel 18:4

2. Satan rules hell: No, Satan does not rule hell, he is the 'god' of this earth. God is the dude who runs hell and heaven. Demons do not torture people there. In fact, hell is not only a prison for human sinners but also demons as well. (Matthew 25:41), (Revelation 20:10),(2 Peter 2:4), (Jude 1:6). There is no biblical evidence to show that Satan has even been to hell.

3. Satan looks like a satyr or imp: Satan can look like whatever he wants(2 Corinthians 11:14). So he's more likely to look like an angel than an imp.

4. Satan is all powerful: Satan - like all angels - has his powers controlled by God. Sometimes God does give Satan some powers like he did with Job, but God only allows Satan the powers that serve God's purposes. God could just turn Satan into dust if he wished, but he doesn't for purposes we mortals can't always understand.

5. Devil and hell don't exist: I'm sorry but they are definitely real. Heck, Jesus speaks more about hell than heaven in Matthew's gospel. Satan is real, and the evidence is all the sin, death, and suffering around us.

6. White magic is good: There is no "white magic" or "black magic" there is only magic(which is evil and doesn't come from God) and miracles(Which come from God and are always good.

7. There are good people: No, there was only one good human, that person was Jesus Christ. We are - by default - destined to hell unless we turn to Christ(Romans 3:23).

8. There are different types of demons: We don't know, the bible does not distinguish between demon types. As far as I know, there are only 2 types of demons - Satan(the worst) and every other demon.

So there, I cleared up a few myths about Satan, demons, and hell.

There seem to be two extremes out there with little in between among those who are lost. They either deny the existence of Satan, demons and fallen angels OR they blatently follow Satan and his ways, with pagan gnostic thought teaching Satan was really the good guy.:)

There are also differening views of Satan and demons amongst Christians.

Satan is often equated as a counter rival to God. While Satan and his forces are enemies to both God and mankind, Satan is sometimes seen as almost an equal match, when the truth is Satan's power never even begins to approach God's greatness and magnificence. In the end Satan is viewed as a very weak fallen being. His main power is gained through deception IMO..

And he's really not very smart either.    He talked Eve into eating and giving Adam the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, thus making mankind qualified to judge the angels.       He had people kill our Lord Jesus giving us the way out from any control he had over us and allowed us to be spiritually born into the family of God.     If he had been smart he would have just laid low and let things go for ever.

Now even when the Lord has told us how it's going to end, he's still trying to set things up for a fight with Jesus himself after Michael kicks them out of the heavens and throws them all here.

His main power is through deception and he's had thousands of years to learn what makes mankind tick....   If we do not have the Holy Spirit he usually eventually has his way with us.

We as humans have no power or authority in  the Spirit world and should avoid it without the leading of the Holy Spirit.

"Clearing up some myths about satan, demons, and hell."

Well some things you said you didn't back up with scripture since there is no verse for it. As for Satan..

“You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created."

Ever gift God gives when He made us and angels He never takes back this is written. So the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. God never wanted that to happen He never allowed it. Like Adam and Eve. That fall was not Gods will nor did God allow Satan to come in to the garden. Gods will? Do not eat of that tree. That's what God wanted. Deals...Adam and Eve never signed anything nor agreed to hand over what GOD gave them. Yet we did give all God gave us over to Satan. Satan told Christ this was given/handed over to me and I can give it to who ever I want. Christ coming in the flesh..ooh did more then we can imagine. He now has the keys to hell and the death.

We were made a little lower then the angels. No angel can call the Great I am Father but we the children of God have that right we are. So after this life according to what I understand its not we will be judges so to speak over angels that never sinned against us. But what I understand is it means to like govern or rule kind of thing. Be it fallen angel or not "Yet in the same way these people also, dreaming, defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak abusively of angelic majesties." "whereas even angels who are superior in might and power do not bring a reviling (defaming) accusation against them before the Lord."

We have been given authority and power in this world. Were not the only ones that have rights.

WOW. Very excellent teaching and something most of us need to hear. Yes,  there are far too many myths and lies ( mostly from the Hollywood Devil and Angels ) that people seem to think is true. The only thing I would add is on #8, I have heard it preached that Ephesians 6:12 "could be" referring to different ranks or types of demons.  But I really enjoyed reading this. Please keep it up.

Ezek 18:4-5

All souls do belong to God, however he has given us free will to do as we please, and there are some that have pledged their souls to satan for the things Satan can give in this physical life.

I am not saying that someone could not declare the deal not legal, but i know of many that have not.    And they are almost impossible to teach.     I met a  dark witch back in the 70s that would tell you that she knew she was going to hell when Jesus came back and knew where Satan was going, but she was going to follow him because he was the only one in the world that was there when she needed him and the only one so show her real love.  She actually talked like she was looking forward to it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
