True, but that is only half the story ...

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. ...
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new
. (Re 20:11–21:5)

- The Greek word rendered "new" literally means "made pristine".

- The Tabernacle of God is with "MEN" - not only the Church. So Psalm 78:68-69 assures us that after the purge, the earth REMAINS;

68 But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved. 69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.

That is not what it says.... New is not refurbished... new is new! If this place was going to be used then why this
John 14:2 (KJV)

[2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

I'm afraid you must reconsider. First, HEAVEN is also burned up. So if you apply your understanding, you will find heaven a vacuum instead of what ever your expectations are. And second, God's promise to Abraham and his seed was Canaan "for an everlasting possession". Third, the Father's House is NEVER heaven. Heaven is His Throne. The Father's House is;
1. the Tabernacle of the Wilderness (Judg.18:31)
2. Solomon's Temple (1st Chron.29:2)
3. Zerubbabel's Temple (Jn.2:16)
4. the Body of Christ (Jn.2:19)
5. the Church (1st Tim.3:15)

You see, 2nd Peter 1.20 forbids us any private interpretation. You can't just say John 14:2 is heaven, especially when our Lord fulfilled John 14 by the end of resurrection day. The Father's House is the Church. The many "abodes" (lit. Gk.) are Christ's disciples. Preparation was needed because of the sins of men. The grammar says that the place where we were going to be, Jesus was already there ("I am" - present tense vs.3, 10 & 20). Jesus went to His death to put away sin and sins. Matthew 12:40 says He went to the heart of the earth for three days. Ephesians 4:8-9 confirms that He descended "FIRST". To Mary in the Garden of the tomb He says that she may not touch Him because He has "NOT YET ascended to His Father", but that He would ascend. That night He returned and commanded them to touch Him - indicating that he has been to the Father. He then breathed the Holy Spirit into His disciples and they became (i) the many "abodes" in the Father's House, and (ii) were then where Jesus had been before - "in the Father and the Father in Him"

The Book of John is not about heaven. It is about getting God into man as His House (Chapter 1 - Bethel) and getting God into man so that man can partake of God's Life (Jon.20:30-31).

Fellow Texan here. I've been all over the country in my life but it always leads back to Texas.

                      "leads back to Texas."

When I joined the Marines in the sixties and then after boot camp in camp Pendelton, Calif, we would sit around and talk, eventually talking about our home town and state, the good and not so good.
Everybody bragged about their state. And everybody had a joke about my Texas. But I always had an answer for them.
Whatever state they were from, say California, I would say, "Yeah, I know there is one thing great about California"

It's that road you have that takes me back to to Texas!....default_cool2.gif.1f46e121b945670d4e8fa5d5fad72e1e.gif    (and a lot of them are using that road today)

The city/town where i live has to be for its size one of the trashiest anywhere in the country, with only major cities being dirtier, but not by much. And it seems like there is no one as in sanitation crews going around picking any of it up. It probably has a lot to do with the very LARGE homeless population, which again is only surpassed by much larger cities. Also this is the largest hub for chicken plants/factories in the entire south, which of course means there is also a very LARGE Hispanic population. Also the crime rate is very high and the couple of big jails here are almost always over-crowded.

Maybe the only good thing about it is a whole lot of churches to choose from including one mega church which has a national TV broadcast i'm sure many here have probably seen before. Also there are a lot of jobs or at least companies that advertise they are hiring, but also a lot of unemployed here such as myself, who likely will be overlooked in favor of someone with more experience and a more stable work history, but it's probably like that anywhere else. Basically i would consider this more of  a transcient location with a lot of people passing through and staying just long enough to make some money before moving on. But I can't imagine why anyone would want to live in any place like this on a permanent basis...except of course for the migrants at the chicken plants!

The pros: I live in the high desert mountains amongst the rattlesnakes, scorpions, tarantula hawk wasps, along with cougars, coyotes and deer, upon a mountain with Almond, Fig, Palm, and Pine trees, grapevines, rose bushes and now strawberries! all growing amongst the desert bushes and Cacti, surrounded on all sides by BLM, ranches or homes with a minimum of 5 acres.  I almost never hear the sound of a car although sometimes the neighbors' helicopter buzzes by.  The houses around me are all big and beautiful, but I live in a '78 mobile home, the only one around.  Dad and Mom put it here at the end of 80s, for a place to 'get away' from the hustle and bustle of the big city on the Colorado River with the 2 traffic lights at the time.

I sit in my living room looking out the picture window across the valley to another mountain range 20? 30? 40? miles away and on a moonless night I can see what must be, every star visible to the naked eye.  There are no earthquakes, tornados, floods, hurricanes, and with a humongous water table underneath the entire valley and with two wells, I don't worry about ever running out of water. Still, 'fire' is a real possibility and a really scary thought.  Then again, if I have a Bible, food, clothing, shelter, earplugs, a gun, and some ammo, I think I am good to go almost anywhere.

I THANK GOD almost every single day because I do feel like I live IN PARADISE, right here on earth.  There is nowhere else I want to be.  And as the cherry on top, all my neighbors are wonderful and helpful people too!!!

The cons:  the mailbox 3/4 mile away, no delivery services for food, and my 'high speed internet' with dial up speed, that either pauses or shuts down all together more than a few times a day.

And people moving into the city where I go to shop causing traffic and sometimes, I have to wait in line at check out.

So many good posts about the places we live. I live near Kansas City home of the Chiefs. I am from the Bronx New York but moved here about 17?years ago. I do like it . It’s hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. A lot of rain at times. The people are pretty nice. Made good friends at work. I want to move back east when I retire. I want to be with the lord in the new Jerusalem and I know I will be satisfied. This is not my home. Got to be with the lord Jesus and a new earth where righteousness will flourish.

Wayne, is NYC as bad as they say?   I always hear there are big rats and roaches even in more expensive apartments.    And that the apartments are really small, even if expensive.

Where would you like to move back East?   I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA.... it's a really nice city.

Sidenote: Biggest rats I have seen: First at Balboa, California way back during 1959 when my family first moved to California, and then Nassau Bahamas in the 1980s. The Balboa ones would just stroll along the docks at night, big rats, but nothing like the Nassau rats  on the piles of trash bags there, those rats were like potbelly pigs they were so huge.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
