God was mourning along with the world about that disaster. It wasn't his doing, but the devil's, and it was on the devil's turf, so if you want to blame anyone, blame Old Slewfoot.

i am just wandering what anyone thinks God was doing during 9/11

Boman, on the morning that Tim McVey blew up the Federal Building here in Oklahome City, I was scheduled to be across the street at the time that the bomb went off. I'd have been standing under that tree you all heard so much about waiting for a parking place to open up that a night person almost always pulled out of shortly after 9:00am. Had I been there most likely I'd not have been alive long enough to even see the building fall.

On the way to work I had this feeling that something was terribly wrong and my team needed to change our plans for the day. One of my team mates had the same feeling so we changed our plans for the day and decided to have a team meeting about three miles away.

I still won't discuss that day with anyone in person for I don't like crying in public.....

For two years I could not understand why God would warn me not to go there and still let those 25 little kids be in the building and die the way that they did, and it nearly drove me over the edge. I got angry and billigerant demanded to know why over and over until one night I got very close to turning my back on Him. I finally jsut calmed down and told him I was at my wits end and could not go on the way we had been.... it was just too much. I asked again why, and for the second time in my life God told me it simply was none of my business. He told me I'd understand later, but for now and I quote, "It's really none of your business."

So I would offer to you the anwer I got from that day. He was there watching over people, and those that did not make it through that day are just gone, and at this time in history, it's really none of your business.... you'll understand later.

Well I still can't go down to the memorial without going to peices, but I'll not ask why until I understand for myself..... He told me that someday I would, and I really think you will understand too.

Sam

Hugs Sam. I kinda understand. We had acts of brutal violence happen in our family, done by evil people, and we too had to get a proper perspective on those actions. In the end, it is just about trusting in Him, as you have done with His answer to you. God bless you.

God was right there. And Jade is right, there could have been thousands more killed. If those attacks had happened 45 minutes later those buildings would have been full and thousands more would have died. It was a horrifying day for us, and God wept just as we did I'm sure.

1. The same place He was when He "stood by and watched" the most beautiful man that ever walked the face of the earth, who knew no sin( 2 Cor. 5:21; Hebrews 4:15,7:26; 1 John 3:5; Luke 23:4; John 18:38,19:4-6), His beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, be mocked, beaten, spit upon..............and crucified, for our sake. How many parents would do the same if they saw the same happen to their son(or daughter)?

The cross of the Lord Jesus Christ is many things to many people, but one thing it is not is a tolerance for sin.

Since sin is ultimately against the Lord God, i.e., He is "the injured party", I would ask believers/unbelievers who lie, cheat, steal, have affairs, divorce, have evil thoughts, fail to help someone in need........................................................................,...

.......("you know", sin in what we do, what we don't do, how we think, who we are......), and thus injure others, and sin against the LORD God, where was God?

"For all have sinned(emphasis mine), and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

Are we all willing to take our deserved, righteous judgment right now?

The LORD God is telling all of us, including myself, to shut our big, fat, hypocritical, self-righteous mouths, as it is wrritten,(not suggested),

"...that every mouth may be stopped(emphasis mine-"shut up"), and all the world may become guilty (emphasis mine)before God..."(Romans 3:19),

and thank Him for His grace, "....the God of all grace..."(1 Peter 5:10).

2. Preparing sticks to beat people like myself who asked this self-righteous, hypocritical question(and I did ask this question, and still do).

In Christ and with Christ,

John M. Whalen

i am just wandering what anyone thinks God was doing during 9/11

He was with my cousin and her husband, as he was trying to get out the door to go to a meeting in the first tower, when my cousin turned on the TV, as he was leaving, and hollered at him to look at the TV... he shut the door, and watched TV the rest of the day....

He was with the son and partner of the owner of the TrueValue here in town, as they had just left the trade center (barely) as the plane crashed into it.....

He was with the man with the cell phone that was trapped in a pocket under all the rubble...

He was with the families of those that were making calls on their cell phones from the planes, comforting them....

He was with His Children on the planes, holding them in His Loving arms as they began their journey home...

He was with me, as I talked to Him lifting those up that were being injured and killed that day...

He was with my son, as he walked through the school on his first day at a new school...

He was busy answering prayers, for all those that chose to speak to Him....

He was busy with some as they found their way out of the towers to safety...

and He still had time to work other "Miricles" through out this world, that we have turned a blind eye towards.

God is a Gentleman.... and will not interfer where He is not wanted.... so God is allowing us to destroy our very world that we live in, that supports our lives with oxygen, nitrogen, water, food, shelter.... we are destroying this earth with our very own sins.....

God is still here, and will remain with those that seek His face....

if a man abides in Me, and I in him............he will produce much fruit.......with out Me, he can do nothing.......

Where was God on 9/11? Right there. Did he just allow it - his permissive will? Or, was he in it?

I think so many times we like to believe that God would not be in something like this, but would only allow it, just as he allows evil to exist in the world right now. But, is that Biblically sound theology? I mean, certainly God did not cause the suffering of Job, but he is the one who brought Job to Satan's attention. He was basically inviting Satan to test Job, but only within the perimeters that God allowed. The Bible says that the Jesus was led of the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of Satan. God gave Paul a messenger of Satan - a thorn in the flesh, and when Paul asked for it to be removed, God said his grace was sufficient. So, certainly God not only permits bad things to happen, but sometimes it is his design for us in order to make us who we are or to perhaps discipline us for the purpose of producing obedience.

Where was God on 9/11? The same place he was when he formed me in the womb of my mother and placed me in the family he chose for me - the home of an abusive father and an emotionally neglectful mother. Psalm 139 says that even before I was born God knew me and he knit me together in my mother's womb and all the days ordained for me were in his book before one of them came into being. I used to struggle so much with why God would allow this to happen to me. I used to think the way as most, that God just allowed it because he allows sin in the world, but then I had to come to grips with Psalm 139 and how he knit me together in that mother's womb and he said I was fearfully and wonderfully made. So, I either had to believe that God was totally and completely involved in every aspect of my life from beginning to end and that it had a purpose or I had to accept that this God who says he loves me stood by and watched the abuse and did nothing. I think I used to believe that God was powerless. That is why I was always afraid. But, when I realized his Sovereignty over all things and that nothing happens that does not happen for a purpose, then I was at peace.

I, personally, believe God was in what happened on 9/11. I believe it was his discipline upon our nation because we were straying from God, and the purpose of it was to bring us to repentance, but it did not get those results. I also believe stronger doses of God's discipline await us in the very near future, because God is a jealous God, he is a loving and a merciful and a compassionate God and he is slow to anger and abounding in love, but he wants so much for all of us to come to repentance that just like a loving father must discipline his children, God must discipline us. I believe that is what was happening on 9/11.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
