Demons and Ghosts

Ooooh. Lots of great information here! This is one topic where I feel like "yay, I wanna answer back!"

Anyhoo.

Someone had asked me how I can believe in what I've said when none of it can be found in the Bible. The thing is, however, I never actually said I believed in that notion at all. I just restated what I understood, not as fact, but as some school of thinking. Personally, I don't know if ghosts exist. I do believe in the power of spirit -- that meaning that there is a place for each and every one of us in Heaven.

The story of the Smurls is an odd one, and I'm not comfortable with it. I have no idea how true it is -- I wasn't around when it was going on, of course -- so judging it as truth or fiction would be unfair on my part.

And, actually, I don't watch a lot of movies. Lol.

I do talk to people a lot, though. And I try to keep a mental journal of all of their accounts.

I've seen Emily Rose. My boyfriend and I just watched a clip of it tonight -- it made me sick. Really. I forgot how nasty that movie was. I had first seen it when I was not yet saved, and, at the time, I thought it funny ... not so much now.

Whether or not she was possessed is an interesting topic all of its own. People can use "dual-voices" -- even as rare as that is.

I don't know. It's all really confusing. But that's how God intends it to be, right? Giving away all the mysteries of life wouldn't all that useful to us in the long run. I just don't know how much I believe that ghosts are demons, or if ghosts even exist.

high i can see this topic is on its own course ok some one that has seen ghosts and has been involved in the occult and has a friend who use to be a satanic priest and many friends that are into tarrot reading reading from crystal balls to sevral talking to the dead had friends who wear witches and warlocks i was very open to this world i have also friends who would read your palm to sevral involved in worshiping

this lady who plays in the ghost whisperer to wear sevral even belive in angles and are angel worshippers i to belive god sends angels to minister to us and i belive he sends angels to prottect those that are his we can even pray and ask jesus to place an angel around our loved ones that are stil worshiping the spirit of this world to wear saul asked a saucerer to raise samual from the dead

read from 1 samual 28 verse 7 to verse 25 wear saul asks a medium and when he was talking with the medium the medium asked king saul whome shal i bring up he said bring up samuel for me

ghosts and demons are they same do not be fooled or alow your self to be manipulated they are from the pit of hell its self and are used by satan him self to manipulate those that are hurting i grew up in a violent home i do not know why i was able to see the dead but in my family their wear gypsys as wel who wear able to talk to the dead and see the dead

i have prayed in sevral homes with a group from my old church so i do know what i am talking about but i wil not go into a biblical debate on this forum so if you want to fight among your selves go right ahead i am a brother in the lord jesus is lord over my life not the spirit of this world or what i ues to be involved in as a non beliver so i am saying this up front do not pick at what i am saying hear or try to show me of i am just sharing to tigger hear

satan controls those in the pit he has no reign over us we are washed in his blood and jesus is head of the body

please do not leave your self open as satan often wil get in if we leave a door open always be alert and put on your armer as it says in ephessions

when ever we wear asked by people from the public to pray over their home and pray in each room we were cool with this as we also took the oppertunity to bring gods word to those who openly invited us every time we cast out what ever had control over the house a peace would fall on the place i have even felt the pressence on many occassions leave so it never use to scare me but their are demons that can hurt you if you are not strong in your walk we have had good reports come back to us as seval would say thank you and send us a cheeq to help with our food service that was provided for the poor familys and those unemployed i had one lady telling me her friends are seeing the diffrence when they viset her as most would not stay long and this poor women could not have friends over ghosts and demons can also attach them selves to a place or a person this is no joke and some get get very mean

i have heard of minsters tel me they have had visitations by some very mean female demons tempting them threw lust full dreams this is also not a joke i had heard of one pastor who was in a motel room and somthing had grabbed hold of his throat and he could not see a thing but he new somthing was their it even got to the point wear he said he could not say in the name of jesus i rebuke you as he tried to but nothing would come out he could hear him self sayig this it lifted him of the bed and at one stage he thought it was lights out for him

i have been in old homes wear glass has smashed right in front of me and my friend we also use to sit in the dark in old houses and see what would walk by as i was very sensative to the spirit realm tempreture in the room would change

acts 16 verses 17 to 19 new spirit filled life bible

17 this girl followed paul and us and cried out saying these men are the servants of the most high god

who proclaim to us the way of salvation

18 she did this for many days but paul greatly annoyed turned and said

to the spirit i command you to come out of her and he came out that very hour

19 but when her masters saw that their hope for profit was gone

they seized paul and silas and dragged them into the market place to the authorities

this is called a taunting spirit that paul cast out as he got that annoyed with this girl he could not take it any longer and i have done this as wel and it just blows me away when i sence a spirit is gone

acts 19 verses 13 to 16 new spirit filled life bible

13 then some of the iitnerant jewish exorcists took took it upon them selves to call the name

of the lord jesus over those who had evil spirits saying we excorcise you by the jesus who paul preaches

14 also there were seven sons of sceva a jewish chief priest who did so

15 and the evil spirit answerd and said jesus i know and paul i know but who are you

16 then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them overpowerd them and prevailed against them

so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded

you can read the rest of this to your self may i ask why so puzzled about demons and ghosts ? i hope by what i have said is seen as a warning and its some thing not to be taken as a joke others wise you wil find your self in trouble and this wil destroy your life if you plan to play around with something you know nothing about its best as i say when quriosity kills the cat to take advice from inner child or inner voice and run away from this do not let your self be thinking on things like this as i said this gives satan him self a foot hold over your life and its as if you are saying hear i am

My mom says she saw a silhouette of a lady in one of our houses. Just a misty something or other, but enough to resemble a woman.

What does it mean? Ghost? Demon? Imagination?

I posted this on another ghost thread. Datan, I think you would find this instructive.

I dont tell this story too often any more, but I think I will this time. I think this time it will prove to be instructive to believers.

When I was newly saved, I worked at a hospital in a pharmacy. This pharmacy was locked up. The only ones who could get inside were other pharmacists, interns or technicians. Whenever someone came in, the door would buzz loudly. That Saturday night, there were only 2 of us. It was quiet in the pharmacy. My coworker was in the IV room while I filled the med orders. There was no noise in the pharmacy except for usual background noise. No radio etc. The room was well lit. For some reason, I turned around and saw an old man standing near the door of the room. He was gaunt, thin gray hair all wispy around his head. He wore a standard hospital gown. I saw him clearly, except for the area below his knees. That disappeared in a haze. I started to walk towards him. He turned away and walked behind a shelving unit that contained meds. I walked to that shelving space and he was gone. There was no way he could have gotten out of the pharmacy from that spot. There was no way he could have gotten into the pharmacy either. I turned to the IV room and asked my coworker if she saw the patient in the pharmacy. She was heavily involved in making a TPN and clearly hadnt moved away from there for awhile. She said I saw the hospital ghost.

Clearly I saw something. This something scared me despite the fact that I have stayed in haunted places before without fear, even as a kid. Why did I, a new Christian, see this ghost? For years I told this story to people. I spread around a story that ghosts exist. I didnt realize it was a demon. Through this story, I helped spread deceit, that ghosts are real. Who knows what untold damage my story caused. Eventually, I saw the truth. I realized I saw a demon. And I finally stopped telling this story to people, instead focusing on the real truth, the truth abut eternal life in Him.

How did I finally recognize the truth about ghosts? From someone else's testimony. A pastor and his wife recently lost their daughter to illness and death. Grieving, they were in bed when their daughters ghost appeared before them, calling to them. The wife called out to her daughter, wanting her. The pastor called out to the demon and commanded it be gone in His name. The facial features dissolved away into the ugly face of a demon before it disappeared.

Dont be fooled by ghosts. They are demons. They have a purpose to deceive people into a false conception of the afterlife. Their purpose is to lead people away from the Lord.

My mother used to see these apparitions. They would impersonate people she knew. But my mom said they could never look exactly like the deceased person. God must not allow them to.

I had some really strange things happen to me after Eric died, things that I can't explain. I finally decided that what ever it was, I was just gonna believe in the Lord and ignore them, except to pray about them. I also quit telling people the stories for pretty much the same reason Jade gave. People were looking at it as proof of life after death, instead of a life in Christ.
