Actually, IMO, the Holy Spirit isn't an actual being. It is the unity and one-ness that God and Christ share. It is, in layman's terms, the power of God. And Christ and God are two separate beings, one family.

This is wrong. The Bible ALWAYS refers to the Holy Spirit as person and a "being." The Holy Spirit can be grieved and lied to. He can be communed with and is also called a comforter and a teacher. The Holy Spirit is referred to as omnipresent in Psalm 139:7-10. He is said to lead us to Christ. In Roman 8:27, he is said to have a mind, and He is called God in 1 Corinthians 6:19. The Holy Spirit can speak according to Acts 1:16. Those are just a few examples, but I could list several more. The Holy Spirit fits the description of an actual being or person.

The Holy Spirit is NEVER refer to as an "it" or an impersonal force like "the power of God."

You need to have a more biblical based understanding of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for clarifying this ..

As I have already stated as much in another thread this evening, I will simply repeat it here:

Mark 3:28 I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. 29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.

Here's a little something to chew upon that I have found interesting:

the way i see this with out this oppening into an all out war zone to were i do not want to see this thread clossed is this no were in all the gospels does it say this that is why i do not believe in this if you can prove your point with out attacking me than i wil hear you out but if we are to believe in this my question is this why cant we all get on with each other and walk as one with out saying i belong to this denomination or i belong to another denomination

we talked about this in my church today

how can christ be divided ? how can he be seen among those who stick to traditonal churches and how can he be seen by us who stick to spirit filled bible believing churches ?

all this is mans doctrine its as simple as that

no were in all the gospels does it say that christ ever said he belives in trinity you wil hear the god head bought up you wil hear oneness bought up john 17 were jesus prays over the disciples is talking about oneness not trinity

the church i am know settled in we are looking at this and have been talking openly on the damage this has done with in the broader part of the christian community and my old pastor has seen how the body of christ has suffered not only is the body sick but many are wounded or are keeping silent and not willing to speak up and seek the truth out them selves some would rather be silent and just take on what ever doctrine man throws at them while others will use the brain god has given them and do their own leg work i am one of these people i never agree but i keep an open mind and try to reach out and walk in unity with out bringing in division or getting some one to question their faith or planting seeds of doubt

you can also see this in the new testamont among the early christians their were two types of christians if we take the time to read the new testamont and alow the holy spirit to open our eyes

you see this in acts when the apostles were in the upper room they were together meaning oneness praying in one accord you see this also in acts 3 and in acts 4

Acts 3

20 and that he may send jesus christ who was preached to you before

21 whom heaven must receive until the time of restoration of all things which god has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began

22 for mose truly said to the fathers the lord your god wil raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren him you shall hear in all things whatever he says to you

23 and it shall be that every soul who will not hear that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people

24 yes and all the prophets from samuel and those who follow as many as have spoken have also fortold these days

25 you are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which god made with our fathers saying to abraham and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed

26 to you first having god raised up his servant jesus sent him to bless you in turning away every one of you from your iniquities

if you say you believe in trinity why is it hard to walk in oneness with us other brothers and sisters in the lord who also read from the bible who also pray to the same god and who also seek the very same thing that trinity is seeking why cant you also get on with those who talk in tounges ?

no use saying i believe in trinity and oneness if we are not willing to lay down our diffrences forget about the denominations we belong to and look at the big picture its the same with the culured groups with in our communitys and the new people that come seeking the gospel and check us out if we stick to the circle of people we know from with in and avoid the new people who do come looking no use saying i believe in this

if you can also show me in the new testamont were jesus rejected those that came to him and only say he reached out to one group may be i will take a hard look at how i see this for my self

i think i already know what the answer will be

this is why i will not alow my self to be fooled by those who do believe in this every one has a free will and we are allowed to express how we understand what it says in the bibles we read from and say this is how we see this for our selves

but my plee is this how can christ be divided ?

why cant our denominational barriers be put down why does their have to be so much division from with in ?

their were certain people not getting the right help with in the new testamont if you did not fit in to one group you were ignored not all widows and orphans were being looked after i am only seeing this know their were a lot of arguments among the early christians as their is among us

paul often had to make peace as sevral even wanted to kill paul and paul even rebuked peter the disciples fought among them selves but did you ever hear jesus fighting among the disciples ? did he ever perk up when the pharisees and saducess attacked him and said he is a trouble maker lets kill him

what about the women at the well ? did jesus reject her ?

when we place denominations theological systems and ethenicity above the call to represent the god head on earth our proclamation and representation will be false it is a form of sacrilegiouse out rage and it is a clear example of the most heinous idolatry we are worshiping and serving those systems instead of god the arrogance is we keep telling our selves god is pleased with this pious profanity

i am not going to say sorry for what i have said hear but its like flogging a dead horse al over again the very same topic the very same arguments

but i will not judge those who have responded to this thread or try to take any ones free will i just ask you do some leg work and go over the new testamont and then ask some hard questions and while you are at it ask the holy spirit to search your heart

this is all i wil say on this i do not hold on to the trinity views

The trinity...The egg~~~ther are three different parts to a egg

  1. the shell
  2. the yolk
  3. the clear part
You can fry it, you can scramble it, seperate the whites from the yellow, poach it, merenque it and even drop it on the floor.

It all remains a egg. Having different properties and perhaps different purposes.

The human....Me~~

  1. i am a mom
  2. a sister
  3. a daughter
In spite of who i am in relationship to my dad, my daughter, my sisters, my aunts and uncles , or friends I am still me.

Although my function is different. For I will not ever tell my dad he needs a time out....but my daughter yes.

God shows us who He is as a person as well as Jesus does also. The Holy Spirit as a person I fell is more unique.

The Holy Spirit cries, is grieved, prays for us, comforts, convicts, guides and teaches. Gives us Joy, illuminates our minds, can be resisted, creates and empowers us is, our helper. There is much more but these come to mind .

I always saw the Holy Spirit as a extension of Gods personage, a very sensitive person and yet is as omnipresent and all knowing as God and Jesus is. I hope this helps a little more. It is a mystery....

Very aptly put, Richard yaash, and so very true. The topic can become a stumbling block if vigorously pursued. I'll stay with what I feel because it's between me and the Godhead.

cheers.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
