Being quiet enough to hear,

being in the right place to hear,

wanting to hear,

knowing Him & being known by Him, :emot-pray:

recognising His voice when He does speak, these are just some of my problems. How about you ???

Good question actually for a topic. If I would have done everything that I wanted to I wouldn't be here right here and now. God lead me to this point with who I am in my life. So does God speak audibly to me personally.....no. He leads me with my ability to right and wrong. To take His Chosen Path and not mine own. Had I taken my path I would be homeless...I wouldn't be with a great guy who loves God I wouldn't be following the right path for me. So yea I don't think God speaks audibly to me he guides me with my heart and lets me know when I'm doing right or wrong.

Not sure if this applies or not. This is my personal experience from the thread Jesus speaking, Has Jesus ever spoke to you?.

God Bless,

Many times I have thought to have felt His leading. Sometimes when I look back, I could see I had missed Him but got back on track. Other times I would look back and realize He was indeed leading me. I'm still learning to know Him more so that when He "steps", I fall right in line. The only way to have that kind of connection is to fellowship with Him at all times.

There has only been one time I can say for certain that He spoke to me in a way that seemed "audible". I could hear His voice in my head. I believe He had only chose this one time because my life was in imminate danger. I was in a car accident when I was 20 and was thrown out the back window. While airborn, I heard, "Open your eyes". I looked and saw that I was sailing toward a moving SUV. Then I heard, "Tuck and roll". I tucked my head and threw my shoulder towards the ground. I bounced off my right shoulder, spun half way around and landed on my rear with my feet on the curb of the median as the SUV sped right past me without any thought of evasive action. I have no doubt He spoke to me that day for the purpose of sparing my life.

Just as Jesus spoke to Paul and John audibly in a vision, I know that He is the same today. He has spoken to me audibly, although it was only one time, but it was for a reason. I will always cherish that memory and know that He knows me by name, and it was such a precious, personal experience that dispels any doubt about who God is, for me.

God spoke to me once, while I was sitting in church high as a kit. He told me that if I shot meth one more time that He would take my life. At the same time, the pastor came up to the balcony and sat right behind me. I never injected another drug. Praise the Lord!!

God spoke to his people in the Old Testament in many different ways. He spoke through

Angles: Gen. 16

visions: Gen.15

Dreams: Gen. 28:10-19

The use of Urim and Thummin: Ex. 28-30

Symbolic actions: Jer.18:-1-10

A gentle whisper: 1 Kings 19:12

Miraculous signs: Ex. 8:20-25 and others

This pattern of God speaking is found throughout the Old Testament. The method

He used to speak was different from person to person. What is important is:

God uniquely spoke to His people.

They knew it was God

They knew what He said

When God spoke it was an encounter with God.

God today speaks to us:

Through the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 1:1-2)

1 John 1:1-4

John 14:8

John 14:9-10

In the Old Testament God spoke in many different ways.

In the Gospels God spoke through His Son.

In Acts and to the present He speaks by the Holy Spirit.

God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church

to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.

Knowing God's voice comes from an intimate love relationship with God.

God speaks when He has a purpose in mind for your life.

The moment God speaks to you is the very moment He wants you to respond to Him.

The moment God speaks to you is God's timing.

All this information is from the Bible Study Book (Experiencing God:Knowing and Doing the Will of God) by Henry T. Blackaby and Claude V. King. It is a great bible study.

I also agree with Lady...:noidea:

God can and does "speak"....

I had an experience similar, and i so much thought it to be an "audible"voice that i turned around (while outside) and "looked" and thought: "who said that?"

My scripture reference is John 10:27 "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me"

Also, in same book and chapter Jesus talks of His sheep: John 10:5 "but they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice"

Although i believe one can hear directly from God in an audiable way, i believe the Lord leads and speaks to us mostly through His Word. God can do what He wants...and to limit our God by saying He only did that way back when....well...i think that limits God and is a complete underestimation of our Most High, Most Powerful Lord!!

Blessings!

Cindy

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
