  1. Oh boy! Will worship in full flight... I tell you what, try to believe that the moon is made of green cheese. Go on, just as an experiment, to see if your claim is true. Choose to trust in, cling to and rely upon the claim that the moon is made of green cheese. You should have no problem at all, if you can will your way into having faith in something. The Bible is very clear about fallen man's heart towards God. Rom. 8:6-9 (WEB) 6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; 7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be. 8 Those who are in the flesh can’t please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his. 1 Cor. 2:14 (WEB) Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Even John 3 refutes your claim, shortly after verse 16 (of course, verse 16 says absolutely NOTHING about the alleged "free" will anyway). John 3:19,20 (WEB) 19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. The unregenerate man, according to the above scriptures: 1) Is hostile towards God (i.e. will NOT trust in him) 2) Cannot please God (faith in Jesus Christ pleases God...) 3) Does not receive the things of the Spirit of God (e.g. the gospel) because he thinks that they are folly 4) Hates the light (i.e. the gospel and the Lord himself) 5) Will NOT come to the light to be saved There's more! Rom. 9:14-18 (WEB) 14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? May it never be! 15 For he said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I caused you to be raised up, that I might show in you my power, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18 So then, he has mercy on whom he desires, and he hardens whom he desires. God makes it crystal clear that upon whom he chooses to have mercy DOES NOT depend upon man's will. ---So, how does ANYONE ever come to Christ in faith? John 3:3-8 (WEB) 3 Jesus answered him, “Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see the Kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into the Kingdom of God! 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’ 8 The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” In order to come to Jesus Christ (i.e. enter the kingdom of God) in faith, we MUST be born again first. This is a gracious gift from God, given to whom he will, not based upon fallen man's will or works. Here is the result of having been born again. John 3:21 (WEB) But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”

  2. The psalms are a great source of inspiration and comfort - it was some many months later in suffering much physical distress and from an unknown affliction that baffled my doctors that the penny dropped when I read in Psalm 51 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a [noble] spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. 51 weeks later from the start of this terrible affliction I was praying in the Spirit with my eyes closed and I had a vision of a plant growing up quickly from the ground and then leaves and then flowering. I knew then that the worst of this was over and that I had been forgiven. It still took another couple of years to fully recover from the pain and fear of what I had experienced. But looking back over the experience of trial by fire (burning up all the dross to make refined silver) I understand the wonderful love of God my Father and God my Saviour to desire that I not perish but keep on keeping on. James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

  3. I also have suffered a most dreadful and painful year of trial and tribulation on a par with Job and his boils. At first I cried and wailed that I was suffering this - but over time as I read psalms and the epistles I learned that God my Father loved me enough to put me through the wringer so that I could come out straight. And that is the moral of the story. Those whom God loves and has a confidence in their endurance [for the Lord knows who are His] shall in the world have tribulation. This is for our benefit so that we learn to overcome and obtain spiritual experience in relying upon God for everything (yes everything). Thank God He loves you as a son and will teach you how to grow strong through tough love. Hebrews 12:5 and have forgotten the exhortation which reasoneth with you as with sons, My son, regard not lightly the Lord’s chastening, Nor faint when reproved of him; 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 It is for chastening that ye endure; God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye are without chastening, whereof all have been made partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh as chasteners, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of the spirits, and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days us as seemed good to them; but he for profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now all chastening seemeth for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward yieldeth to those exercised thereby peaceable fruit of righteousness.

But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” - 1Corinthians 2:9 Matthew 25:34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

  7. .....and, there have been 2000 years of brothers before us being taught by the Holy Spirit to understand those letters--and now, today. Each of us that are 'In Christ' will know what He wants us to know. Look to Him and trust Him. There is certainly no need to worry about what we don't understand.

  8. THere are many different types and reasons for pain, anguish and trials. In my lifetime, the Lord has allowed many kinds to touch me--even now and the next couple of weeks. But never more than can be borne with His Gracious and Merciful Help. We are comforted in knowing He won't send more than what He intends for us. Romans 8:28 is a constant encouragement. Knowing this is True and embracing this Truth is the assurance that gives endurance and always Hope. Christ in you...praying for you, Arrabon.

  9. The scriptures teach us to speak the truth in love. If we resort to condescending posts or replies, we disobey God. We are also admonished by scripture to "prefer others better than ourselves." What we need to remember is to "love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God." Being mindful of this should greatly affect how we treat others. Gary

  10. There's another sin that plagues the Christian believer. That sin is the habitual sin that may have had it roots in the believer's past that's carried over into the Christians every day life. That sin may lie dormant then rear its ugly head when you least expect it. Much prayer and the putting on the full armour of God to be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Read what Paul writes in Ephesians: (Ephesians 6:10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (Ephesians 6:11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (Ephesians 6:15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (Ephesians 6:16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (Ephesians 6:17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (Ephesians 6:18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (Ephesians 6:19) And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, (Ephesians 6:20) For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. [ESV] Old habits die hard. Prayer and reading/meditating on scriptures is a power deterrent.

  18. The more I learn about the historic and cultural context in which the Bible was written, the more I realize that we really don't know as much as we think. What if people will be in heaven who we thought would not be like some Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindus? This might seem heretical, but what if people are saved by the blood even if they don't realize it. There are people who live righteous lives up to the knowledge they have. Yes, Jesus is the only way. However, the patriarchs did not know Jesus such as Moses, David, etc. Yet, these people are saved. This is food for thought.

  19. What We Believe CAN Be Consciously Chosen. By JAG October 2, 2021 "We cannot consciously choose what we believe."__ Internet Poster The Bible specifically contradicts and repudiates that claim. Christendom's core Bible verse, John 3:16, assumes that humans can choose what they believe. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." We CAN choose to believe that John 3:16 is the truth and get the gift of eternal life ~ or we can choose not to believe John 3:16 is true and get John 3:16's perish. "choose you this day" , , , "And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15 This also involved consciously choosing what one would believe. There was a set of beliefs behind them choosing to serve the Lord. Human Sin and the desire to protect that sin and to continue to sin, is the father of the notion that beliefs cannot be consciously chosen. When a person allows themselves to believe that beliefs cannot be consciously chosen that means they can say to themselves: "Hey I have no control over what I choose to believe, therefore I will NOT repent of my sins and believe in God because I know that doing that would require me to give up my sinning." Here we can list our your most enjoyable sins that we want to hang on to. Believing that beliefs cannot be consciously chosen will allow us to keep on enjoying our favorite sins ~ and THIS, at bottom, is what UNBELIEF is all about and has ALWAYS been about. Free Will is heavily assumed throughout the Bible and the entire Bible is written on the assumption that beliefs CAN be consciously chosen, and in fact one's eternal destiny is based upon what one chooses to believe. 20. Paul uses a lot of the cosmology of the time to make points and if you don't understand those things it's very hard to get into the context of what he's saying. But when I say things like that people go to the Bible scripture only route and the discussion leads nowhere. We need to understand what the people alive at that time understood and believed in general to get inside his letters.

  23. (Daniel 1:1) In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it. (Daniel 1:2) And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god. (Daniel 1:3) And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; (Daniel 1:4) Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. (Daniel 1:5) And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. (Daniel 1:6) Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: (Daniel 1:7) Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego. 24. It is enriching for me to discuss and compare hermeneutics with believers who know their Bible and the prophetic timeline. I am not the type to argue my theology, trying to convince anyone my view is the correct one, I know better. The only things I am dogmatic of; are the only way to Salvation, the Trinity, the inspired infallibility and inerrancy of scripture, and a couple of other non-negotiables. I’m like everyone else, a Bible student always learning and maturing. We cannot know the day nor the hour of Christ’s return for His bride, but we can know the season [and we are in it], and are commanded several times to “watch.” I believe most of the remaining unfulfilled prophetic scripture, deals with the near Tribulation, leading up to the second coming of Jesus. We are given the reason for the Tribulation: Daniel 9:24 (KJV) Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. As we all know, the history behind people who set dates of the Rapture; results in disappointments, apostasy, and making Christians look like fools. We are not to set a date(s) for the Rapture of the church. We know that when the last person is to be saved; the Father will tell his Son, go fetch your bride. Never before has there been a convergence of everything prophetic. Everything now occurring is coming on like birth pains, and screaming a New World Order and global government. The prophetic events shaping up such as, the U.N. Agenda 2030, and all that it entails paving the way for the Antichrist and Tribulation. The formation, treaties, alignment, buildup, and players for the Ezekiel 38: -39: Gog-Magog invasion of Israel. The “hook in the jaw”; their prosperity, wealth, Dead Sea natural resources, Goliath natural gas and oil fields, etc. Global economics and the need for expansion, Muslim hatred of Israel, the U.S. and global abandonment of Israel. With the appearance of a lamb and speaking like a dragon: Are you aware of all the heresies and blaspheming this socialist political Pope Francis is spouting? The leader of the globe’s largest religion with 1.4 billion adherents. With the titles of “Vicar of Christ” and “holy father”; that should tell us a little something. Pope Francis's ecumenical movement is a success, drawing back ‘protester’ denominations, back under the umbrella of the universal one true church. Drawing and meeting with most of the globe’s major religions, including the Muslims. Praying with them and their pagan religions and announcing, “We all pray to the very same god, only called by a different name in different times, and cultures.” And so much more. If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck. If he is not the False Prophet, I suspect he is certainly the precursor. Back on topic about my thoughts on the Rapture: Genesis 6:3 (KJV) And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Admittedly, these 120 years could be the new average lifespan of humanity, or the years remaining before the flood, or both? However; the latest biblical average life span of 70-80 years for humanity is given in: Psalm 90:10 (KJV) The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Matthew 24:32 (KJV) Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Generally speaking, I believe the ‘olive tree’ is symbolic of spiritual Israel. In Matthew 24:32, I believe the fig tree is representative of National Israel, as a nation once again. We have and we are seeing all these things. Our generation has witnessed two major prophetic super signs: The rebirth of the nation of Israel in one day; May 14, 1948, by the declaration of the United Nations. Isaiah 66:8 (KJV) Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. The second major prophetic event occurred in 1967, the Israeli Six-Day war. Ezekiel 34:13 (KJV) And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. From May 14, 1948, until the 1967 Six-Day war; Israel did not control or have possession of any of their mountains, or even control and possession of Jerusalem. From then on, Jews started flocking back to their homeland; to include Operation Solomon, in May of 1991. Airlifting Ethiopian Jews back to Israel. So, with all of the preceding, what is the point I’m striving to make, and for consideration? Arithmetic. Naturally, my context and thoughts may well be reading into something that is not there, but it seems plausible and logical. The generation that sees these things, what things [Matt. 24:32]. Israel being reborn again in one day, 1948, we are that generation. The next logical question I would ask is, how long is a biblical generation for our dispensation? The latest lifespan for our generation [and it fits] is 70 years, or by strength, 80 years. I would consider this a season, a window if you will, not a date setting. With what is occurring nationally and globally, there’s no doubt in my mind the Tribulation is at the door. If it is that close, how much closer is the Rapture? The math: 1948 + 70 = 2018; 1948 + 80 = 2028; (2018 – 2028) a potential season? Would you have any thoughts on this possibility? I’m getting long winded and I need to be brief and close. I think the following is very interesting in our day and age. Luke 21:26 (KJV) Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. If you are not a Christian, there are many things to fear right now coming upon the earth, like birth pains, like plague [Covid, its mutations and variants] as one example. I take Luke 21:26 above, like something falling on the earth from above, because of the qualifying statement of heaven shaken. With our powerful earth and space telescopes and mathematics, once discovered, we can track and predict the trajectory of asteroids and meteors. Not accurately though, until the time gets closer. Just like the recent official announcement by our government, that UFOs are a real phenomenon, hidden and covered up for decades. For fear of global panic and civil disorder, a government would not divulge the truth of an impending major asteroid impact on the earth, until it could no longer be kept a secret. It is interesting to note: This is not common knowledge but, doing some research, the powerful, wealthy, elite, and politically connected; are building and buying doomsday bunkers globally by the groves. And what are all these expensive doomsday global seed storage banks about? To be brief; if you are interested in doing your research. I have a suspicion an asteroid NASA named “Apophis” could be the biblical asteroid “Wormwood?” Naturally so far, they are claiming it will be a close earth pass [inside of our outer satellites]. Everything from its Greek name meaning, to dates, to Israel’s feast days; is all very interesting, but speculative. Sorry, I didn’t mean to turn this into a doctorial thesis.

They never recant but keep churning out the same old semi-dispensational hyperbole. Yeshua is enthroned now and believers should be about spreading the gospel and by attrition (one soul at a time) we do warfare and God always wins in the end. The Lord High God is always sovereign.

  34. I too suspect the Rapture may occur on an Israel feast celebration? There seems to be scriptural support. Luke 21:26 (KJV) Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. There are many things about to come, that will cause this no doubt; but the qualifier from Jesus indicates, this particular "fear" will be coming from the second heaven (outer space). "Looking after those things which are coming on the earth." Seems to imply advanced warning, such as with telescopes and calculations? Pertaining to the Greek name of; the number of filthy rich and politically connected people, preparing and buying doomsday bunkers; the sudden appearance of global seed banks: Along with the timing (Israel feast day - Tribulation period) and estimated planetary damage and where it would potentially impact... This asteroid "Apophis" is exceptionally interesting. Of course, to not cause global panic and chaos, NASA would not disclose it, even if they knew for certain of an impending asteroid collision. Naturally I do not know, but I have a Spidey sense this could perhaps be the biblical "Wormwood?" As time ticks down and if it becomes imminent, there will come a point where governments will not be able to hide it any longer. To change the subject: Your government masters are sure tightening the screws down under, on the citizens. I would never have thought, the Australian government would be suppressing the citizens like that? We in the U.S. are not far behind. Is our (my) interpretation of what is happening down under, as bad as what we are hearing in the U.S.?

  35. As has been mentioned, no one world government, no one leader of that one world government, no religious leader teaching the one world leader is God (with supernatural sign/wonders to emphasize teaching), no treaty with Israel (world peace), no rebuilt temple, the one world government leader has not broke that treaty by desecrating the temple and declaring himself "God", the MoB follows that breaking of the treaty/desecration/proclamation of godhood. So, a shot is not the MoB.

Anti-Christians are so addicted to the argument that Christianity stole from other beliefs, that they are trying to make something out of nothing. Most of the imagery in Daniel 7 is reflected to some degree in earlier Hebrew texts. I even found a paper that tried to argue that the author of Daniel did not borrow from anyone, but rather the Psalmist did the initial borrowing, and Daniel 7 simply continued the tradition received via the Psalmist. Anyone claiming one belief borrowed from another is obligated to support their claim through demonstrating a direct line of evidence from one belief to the other. That, of course, is never provided. So this is 'much ado about nothing'. The anti-Christians have far better examples to revert to if this is their aim - though none are particularly strong arguments.

  37. This is a very important verse indeed for it shows that Jesus was higher than the prophets inasmuch as unlike the prophets, he descended from the Father - so no prophet before (or after) him could give testimony of the Father. If this is the definition of trinity, then trinity is not only true but a also a core tenet of Christinanity, with which the missionary call in the gospel of Matthew can be understood: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Mt. 28:19, ESV).

  38. You wrote that over 50% Americans are gay and/or support so-called gay marriage, which we know isn't a marriage, but that's a tangential issue. 5% of the US population are homosexual, and about 70% of Americans support that abomination as of 2021. Big difference in the statistics.

  39. The Covid-19 vaccines (plural) are not the MotB; however, the pressure upon all and sundry to become vaccinated, with serious restrictions placed upon those who are not, is concerning. I strongly suspect that this is the thin end of the wedge.

  44. That is unfair and untrue. Sure, there are issues with the Catholic denomination, but there are issues with ALL denominations. I have several Catholic friends and colleagues that routinely teach me how to be a better Christ-follower through their words, attitudes, and actions.
