  1. The living God will always be alive. Praise God that we are opportuned to be worshipping the living God.
  2. A few here mistakenly think those of us who are born again by grace through faith and accept Christ's finished work for our salvation are not walking with Jesus. Over and over they claim we have a license to sin, and therefore are leading sinful lives. Some even claim that we are taught by pastors not to do any works as we are relying on grace. Of course, this is untrue. I've been born again since the early 1970s and have never heard any pastors preaching against doing good works. Rather we were taught to have a quiet time (prayer/Bible reading) with the Lord so we could grow spiritually. Of course growing spiritually includes good works, but we know we are not saved or kept saved by good works. The Holy Spirit is a definite factor in our hearts/lives as we grow spiritually (are sanctified) throughout our lives...it is not just self effort. I hope the few with the above misunderstandings will stop continually perpetuating these untruths. We seek to live holy lives but it is something that comes from our hearts that have been changed by the Lord when we were born again. "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name; which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12-13.
  3. Fruits of the Spirit are something that we cannot manufacture or produce on our own. These qualities are the result of being born again. We might have some to a lesser or greater degree...but if we have been born again, the fruits will be there. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
  4. Shalom all, Is it just me or has this forum become very "heavy" lately? I like debate as much as the next guy, if not more. However, I'm acutely aware of the fine line between healthy, intellectual debate and endless locking-of-horns arguing. Now when I go in to certain rooms (including General Discussion) it's with a weary sigh at what arguments are still raging and multiplying. Look at this forum with the eyes of a new believer, excited at finding the Lord and full of joy to share, only to run into all this heaviness, endless arguments and provocative attitudes. At the moment I'm not recommending this forum to anyone. I struggle to find many posts that uplift, teach and encourage others. Even when such posts appear they disappear soon after, eclipsed with repetitive nonsense for 48 pages, fresh for all to see. What a sad state we're in at the moment. Where is the love & peace?
  5. I notice Some people posts hundreds of posts without mentioning Jesus whats up with that, I notice Senior members 30000 + posts No Jesus. Don't mention there creator, lets show our True colors Seen this is a christian Forum? and use this thread to raise Jesus up That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
  6. Yeah brother, there has been an influx of what by all appearances to admin, as 'trolling'. You might check my post backing up Omegaman 3.0's decision to block jason12. It's under the heading: Omega Man 3.0 Stop Defending Immorality. Jason as you might remember, is a staunch atheist. And I made a response to also to natescute, yet one more who claims to be an 'ex-christian'. This is under the header: Reply To Posts. Join with me if you will, in prayer. We've taken some serious hits lately, and it's wreaked havoc. I'm reminded of this verse in Isaiah 61:3 that states: the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that might be glorified. KJV God bless. Shalom, David/BeauJangles

    Joyful Update

Praise the Lord! My daughter went for the first time to the new church she found. It went exceptionally well. I have never seen her this enthused about a church before. She was explaining to me how it is very mission minded.
  8. Iowa, do you realize that as soon as you ask God to forgive you again, He asks "for what?". God both forgives and forgets. He says your sins shall be as white as snow, that they will be as far as the east is from the west. The moment you confessed your sin He was faithful and just to forgive your sin, and was cleansing you from all unrighteousness. ALL unrighteousness. All you had to do was agree with Him. He is helping you even if you can't see it right now. In fact, He says that He causes all things work together for good to those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. Psa 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. Psa 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psa 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. Psa 103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
  9. C.H.Spurgeon. 1 John 2:6. "So to walk, as He walked. Why should christians imitate Christ? They should do it for their own sakes. If they desire to be in a healthy state of soul, if they want to escape the sickness of sin and enjoy the vigour of of growing grace, let Jesus be their model. For the sake of their own happiness, if they would enjoy holy and happy communion with Jesus, and if they would be lifted above the cares and troubles of this world, let them walk even as He walked. There is nothing that can assist you in walking toward heaven with good speed as much as wearing the image of Jesus on your heart to rule all its motions. It is when, by the power of The Holy Spirit, you are enabled to walk with Jesus in His very footsteps that you are happiest and most known to be the sons of God. Peter's position of being" afar off" (Luke 22:54) is both unsafe and uneasy. Next, for faith's sake, strive to be like Jesus. Ah, poor faith, you have been sorely shot at by cruel foes, but you have not been wounded half so dangerously by your enemies as by your friends. Who made those in the fair hand of godliness? The one who professed faith but used the dagger of hypocrisy. The man with pretences who enters the fold, being nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing, worries the flock more than the lion outside. There is no weapon half so deadly as a Judas-kiss. Inconsistent christians injure the Gospel more than the sneering critic or the infidel. But, especially, for Christ's own sake, imitate His example. Christian, do you love your Saviour? Is His name precious to you? Is His cause dear to you? Would you see the kingdoms of the world become His? Is it you desire that He would be Glorified? Are you longing that souls should be won to Him? If so, imitate Jesus, be an "epistle of Christ" ( 2 Cor 3:3 ), "known and read of all men "(verse 2). Praying that this is helpful to someone out there, just being obedient to the Holy Spirit's guiding, God bless.
  10. Grace is something we not only receive, but give. Funny how a thread about grace is becoming all but that. Take some time before you reply to a post to see if you are posting in the flesh or in the Spirit. Remember our example.
  11. Christian sites have always had those who come in to challenge the beliefs of the members. That is expected, and even welcomed. How else will they hear the truth? Some are trolls, but others are not. But, I think you are talking more about the members who are Christians that continue to battle with each other. It seems that more and more people have studied the scriptures and developed their own theology, which is normal and can be a really good step forward. What is not an act of maturity in Christ is when they close and lock their theology and will not consider that they may be wrong, often degrading a question posted to them into a heated debate that includes name calling, insulting and even questioning someone's salvation. That is an act of pride and arrogance, not one where people reason together. I would suggest when a conversation begins down a negative path, speak the truth and then turn away. An argument needs two sides. If one walks away, the argument stops. If you do decide to do the mature thing and realize that the discussion is going nowhere and leave, don't be drawn back in when someone posts something negative to you last post, usually coming in a way of trying to have the last word in proving how wrong your words are. Let them stand on their own merit. If they are the truth, others will see it. Never have a closed mind, as if you hold the truth and if anyone disagrees with you, they are wrong. Everyone is in a different place in Christ, some just beginning, usually very zealous, and others more mature, usually calmer and more reserved. Yet, even Paul tells us that we see through a glass darkly, or in a mirror dimly. Nobody on any site holds the truth 100% of the time.
  12. My wife's uncle taught me through his action and word. Be a friend regardless; it need not be reciprocated. That was a life changing lesson, for which I am grateful.
  13. Hi Everyone, I am an old time ago registered, new member here, because I have never chatted here before as I could not find out how to. Now Sonshine has helped me with some personal assistance and here I am. I am looking forward to receiving your replies so at last, I can chat with you all soon. Lilyana
  14. I used to tell my sons to be a friend to someone who needs a friend. So they had friends who were of other nationalities and who were not always included. When I was in my 20s I preferred church friends who were elderly and who were so often rich in the grace of God.
  15. I pray that believers worldwide will focus on knowing God and His attributes. This is the only way we can submit to Him and remain obedient to His Word and His Will.
  16. @nzkev I really love this topic! I'm overjoyed that you posted it. In fact, it inspired me to write this praise poem for Jesus... Without Jesus I would be nothing Without Him I'd be lost in sin But with Him I have a dear Savior And with Him I have peace within One day I will join Him in Heaven I'll see the dear Lamb who was slain And worship the One who has risen Forever in power to reign While yet on the earth I will praise Him So grateful for His precious love He's captured my heart with His beauty He's turned all my longings above I praise You, Oh Jesus Redeemer! I glorify You, King of kings! Your Blood was the price for my purchase What wondrous joy this truth brings!
  17. Where would we be but for the Lord Jesus? He is our Salvation, He alone is our firm foundation.
  18. And may all those who do not know the Lord today say, “Jesus, save me.” Hebrews 3:8-15 King James Version (KJV) 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15 While it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
  19. Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God hath highly exalted him, and given him a which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father. KJV
  20. John 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Hebrews 1:3 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
  21. This is the kind of generalization that leads to arguments, I believe. You may not mean to say that all believing Christians lack faith, but that is what you are saying. I am a member of the church, and I certainly do not lack faith--or hope or love. I am abiding in Christ and He in me because I was saved by grace through faith, and now I have a living hope of glory. 1 Peter 1:3... Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  22. Shalom Mrs. Santiago Welcome to the forum! Yes, raising children in this world is very daunting. I would advise posting this in the prayer request section of this forum so that our Prayer Warriors can pray about this for you. It might also help them to give them a little more information so that their prayer is relevant. Love & Shalom
  23. Yes....having a forum of godliness and not just a form of godliness!
  24. Welcome, Bobby. We talk about all sorts of things regarding Christian life, the Bible, and most of all how wonderful and merciful our God and Father and our Lord Jesus Christ are.
  25. I look forward to talking about faith and the Bible with others in this community.
  26. According to Jesus ,if you believe His Gospel that he gave to Paul to reveal to the world—if you believe that Christ died for your sins and believed that He rose from the dead , you will be saved.
  27. Hi Jamie, Welcome from another Aussie. Hope you have a good time here getting to know others and contributing. all the best as you make your way around, Marilyn.
  28. Hi Jamie, and welcome to Worthy! Glad you’re not a “roo”-bot. Don’t worry... not everyone is as cheesy as I am. May you be blessed here!
  29. Hi there to you Shauna, and welcome to the forum. We pray that God Himself will surround you by His Spirit, give you wisdom, knowledge, discernment and understanding, as together, with your husband, and us, that your prayers will be answered, and that according to your faith, God bless.
  30. Hello and welcome. There are plenty of people here to talk to and who will listen.
  31. The Word states that we will receive a new body that will be like Christ's resurrected body. Our souls will be with Christ when we die until the resurrection of our bodies and their being reunited with our souls. No disembodied spirits for eternity for us.

  33. Hi! I'm Cheery Tree, I've come to this website because I've been in chats before, only problem most of them aren't Christian, and most of the times its okay, but sometimes I want to hangout and talk to people who know Jesus, Plant a "Cheer"y Tree even if its just a smile to a stranger
  34. John 8:29 (NASB) "And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him." “not left me alone” These four words are written to all that would be willing to stand for and with Christ in this world. Against all the onslaught of all that would stand against. “not left me alone” meaning that regardless of what the situation might be, He is always with the believer who does the one qualifying thing that the scripture states; “always does His will” Wait! How can sinful man ever do all His will? What is His will to fallen man? “Come unto me all ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest” This is the will of God to fallen man, “come onto me.” So if we plug “come unto me” into the “I always do what pleases Him”, we have. “He never leaves me alone, because I always come unto Him” Such words of comfort when things go against what the life of self would have. Such words of comfort when the storms of life prevail on the believer’s heart. Such comfort of truth to the rest of the heart that would always come onto Jesus. Such words of comfort to know one is never left alone, even if all people think that you are. You never are, as one who is called by Him that has died for them. Blessings to all that have tasted of the reality of Christ in them their hope of glory. Blessings, Much love in Christ, Not me
  35. 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
  36. Praise our Lord our God Our Savior Hallelujah to the lamb of God , Jesus Christ our Lord
  37. Philippians 2 2 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
  38. Thank you, Deb. This was a needful post. I’m reposting something I posted a few days ago, as it applies nicely in this thread, I think: Jesus never denied good works; He never said they had no value when He says that God renders to every man according to his works. (Romans 2:6) This is because works proceed from faith. Therefore, it is from Him that we have works of righteousness, from Whom comes also faith itself: "The just shall live by faith." (Hebrews 10:38). I think many believe that because Paul said "we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the works of the law, that this means that faith is sufficient to a believer even if he leads a bad life and has no good works. But then Paul adds, "but faith which worketh by love." (Galatians 5:6) Of course we know that even demons believe and tremble; however, they possess not the faith by which the just believer lives by--the faith which works by love in such a way that God rewards it with eternal life. So therefore, our good works are from God, from Whom also comes our faith and our love. These works belong to the grace of God! Amen? "Without Me ye can do nothing." The "not of works" means those works which have their origin in self alone. But we have to think of works for which God has created us for. "We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works. They are His good works, not ours. It's all God's grace. Even eternal life, which is the recompense of a good life, is the grace of God, freely given! Amen! Ephesians 2:8-12 King James Version (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
  39. Shalom Natesute, I'm glad you made it to Worthy! Listen, for me, faith is not a blind faith ... but a reality. It's fairly simple. You look around and see the complexities of life ... you realize that scientists still haven't figured out the human body in its entirety ... and in every cell is DNA which holds enough information of roughly 1.5 gigs ... and the information in DNA within a body would store 150 trillion gigs of information! A TRILLION ... in zeros is ... 150,000,000,000,000. So it's obvious there is a DESIGN ... for what is created in the world without a DESIGNER? So within the concept of a DESIGNER ... you come to the realization what DESIGNER would create such complexities ... without leaving a guide ... or a means by which we're to function? So you come to the realization ... with a DESIGNER ... comes a REALITY ... a DESIGNER would create a GUIDEBOOK for His Design. The Bible details the functions of the designer ... and how the design became flawed ... while most look at the Bible as "do's and don'ts" it's misunderstood ... as its a means of how to live. For example, as a parent ... I tell my kids, Don't play in the STREET! Is it because I don't want them to play in the street ... not at all ... I want them to play, but play in a safe environment! That is what a good parent does! This is all the Bible describes ... a lifestyle that FREES those who live by it, not with rules, but a framework whereby they can TRULY enjoy life and all its splendor without suffering the ramifications of trying to live outside its guidelines! Next, the Bible describes the ultimate plan of God, to restore His Design back to when it was flawless when He first created it! So right now, you're in the midst of a plan of God ... and the plan of God is to restore you completely and fully! The issue that mankind has to deal with is the fact that mankind is not perfect ... not even close to it! So how does God allow an imperfect being ... to enter His Perfect restoration ... if He allowed it ... the restoration He's promised would become imperfect. Thus He sent His Son ... to be the substitute ... to replace our imperfection ... with His PERFECTION ... so that the REALITY of the future is God's plan to restore everything that became corrupted ... so now we're in the midst of a TEST. There's ONLY one requirement to pass the test ... it's not complicated. When you come to such a simple plan of salvation ... it's not complicated ... but for some ... it's too simplistic ... why would God make it so easy? Simple ... because as the great designer He wants all to enter into what He truly has prepared for His creation! Come to the realization that you are not perfect ... and simply say to God -- I'm a sinner ... fallen short of your perfection, and I believe you sent Your Son, Jesus to be my Lord and Savior and I am trusting that You will save me, not based on who I am, but based on who You are! I believe as Jesus was resurrected from the dead ... that you will resurrect me as well and I want to turn from my sin and try to live a holy life for your glory! As C.S. Lewis wrote in the Chronicles of Narnia in the last chapter, "And as He spoke He no longer looked to them like a lion; but the things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful that I cannot write them. And for us this is the end of all the stories, and we can most truly say that they all lived happily ever after. But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before." This is simply the beginning ... it's a ONE QUESTION TEST ... with ONLY ONE ANSWER ... the choice is yours. God bless, George

    Loving God

I pray they may know the one true Living God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  41. Shalom my brother, I agree with that, but the concept of iron sharpening iron assumes that both sides are equal. This isn't really reflected in a lot of "salvation-debate" posts, in which one side, or poster, says that they ARE saved, and the opposition is not (usually done by implication). I agree with you that such posts should just be ignored. However, it's usually because of the poster's bold provocation unfortunately starts pulling the attention away from those who would otherwise do good. When I see so much focus and attention wasted on "salvation-debate" posts and then other posts elsewhere, asking for help, with next to no replies - it's heartbreaking. "The harvest is plenty, but the workers are.... busy bickering over the basics." Love & Shalom
  42. Hi Michael, I do not run a forum on my website or plan to. It's for informative purposes only. However, my tips would be: Philippians 2:3-4 "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." Refrain from writing anything you wouldn't want the Lord to scrutinise, on the Day of Accounting. Do not post if you have ANY attitude other than: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22)
  43. Hi Shauna it's really good to have you here with us and to hear your testimony 😊 I joined a few weeks ago and have to say the people I have met/chatted with are lovely genuine believers. It's great to have a place where you can share some burdens or what the Lord is doing and have a group of people to encourage and support you along the way. I too am from a Catholic background and also from Northern Ireland so when I became a Christian some "Christians" assumed I became a protestant which of course I didn't lol I became a follower of Jesus 🙌 It is amazing to be saved and know God is with you every step of the way! I am a single parent and have had my fair share of heartache, struggles and judgement so I can maybe understand some of what you're going through and I would definitely like to be someone who can encourage your heart along the way 💖 I'm so sorry for all your going through but I thank God for keeping and sustaining through it all! You have amazing faith in Jesus praise God! I know its not easy I know its far from easy but I know God has got you and your family...and as you said your children have a firm foundation so I believe they will turn their lives to Christ as I believe my children will also! I pray you are blessed and encouraged in Worthy! God bless you sis and welcome 😊
  44. At our evening family prayer today, I struggled to find a scripture to read, I looked and looked , page after page, verse after verse nothing spoke to me. I was so excited about reading the word today , so I was kind of dissapointed that I couldn't. My uncle than suggested that I open "Zacharia 2: 4" we prayed, after prayer he says " that I am blessing you with this word , see when you feel like the walls are caving in on you, just know that God will break down those walls, not to leave you exposed or vulnerable, but to allow space for the multitude of blessings to come your way and he himself will be the consuming fire that surrounds you to protect you and your blessings" wow now I know why God wouldn't let me share any word with anyone today, he wanted me to be on the receiving end, he wanted me to hear this , so I went to the scripture and read it from verse 1 " Then I looked up, and there before me was a man with a measuring line in his hand. I asked, “Where are you going?” He answered me, “To measure Jerusalem, to find out how wide and how long it is.” While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord , ‘and I will be its glory within.’ “Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord , “for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven,” declares the Lord . “Come, Zion! Escape, you who live in Daughter Babylon!” For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye" People might measure your walls and think you are caved in, think you have no more space to grow, think you are confined within those walls, but God is saying to those measuring your walls, these walls will not exist for long soon they will be no limit to your prosperity, no boundaries to your growth and nothing can dare try to stand against that because you will be fortified , surrounded by the consuming fire because you are the apple of his eye. If you feel like the walls are caving in remember the message passed to the man with a measuring line. Passing on the blessing, be blessed in Jesus Christ name.
  45. Somehow, I doubt that you know this person, their mind, their heart, and their life, well enough to make such a sweeping conclusion about their Bible knowledge. Just because we disagree on some point, does not mean that they are wrong, and we are right. I suggest putting a little more love and humility and thought into our posts, before we start sounding too accusative, dismissive, and condescending.
  46. I’m sorry to hear about your wife’s health problem, friend. I just said a prayer for her, asking the Lord to touch her with His healing hands and strengthen her. We serve a compassionate, loving God who knows and cares about every detail of our lives. May your confidence in His grace and goodness increase as you look to Him in faith. Grace and peace to you.
  47. I think each person is different, and God deals with each person differently. Some require a heavier hand, and some continue to torment themselves over the smallest of infractions even after they have been forgiven the offense. I don't think it is possible to put us all in one box, just as a parent of multiple children would tell you that each child required a unique approach, so it is with God's children. Those are my thoughts, for what it's worth. God bless
  48. Shalom Khirmir, Welcome to WCF! I hope you enjoy your time on here. Please feel free to jump in as soon as you can with a new post to share your thoughts. Love & Shalom
