  1. My thoughts exactly. I still have to move myself to follow Him. He is my shepherd, so He does show me how to avoid danger. That is also a duty of a Navigator. He guides me.
  2. Job made that mistake. He justified himself instead of justifying the things God did. God IS sovereign which mean since He made us He has the right to do what He wants. We are to continue to believe He is just, righteous good and loving toward us. All things work together fo good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Just because we can't understand it or see that is it good at this time doesn't mean it isn't so.
  3. Jesus listens to all who call upon the Name of the Lord. He sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. The only place the Bible speaks of people in heaven praying are the martyrs calling out to God, how long?
  4. Jesus called satan the father of lies. He said that the thief came to kill and destroy but He came to give life and to give it more abundantly. Don't let the liar and the their steal your joy! Just turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. I just ignore the enemy and draw close to God. Fear is not from God because His perfect love casts out fear. Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Jas 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
  5. Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Baptism is the norm for all disciples of Jesus Christ. Paul said he had only baptized a few people but he was emphasizing that it is the cross and Christ crucified that saves us, not baptism. Baptism in water is usually combined with a public confession of our faith in Christ. It should be by immersion to represent the death burial and resurrection with Christ. i.e. the death and burial of our old nature, having arisen a new creature in Christ, born again. Baptism is one of the works the Holy Spirit leads us to do, along with reading the Bible, praying, gathering together with other Christians, loving each other.
  6. After children have moved out or have jobs of their own many parents ask something in return for board and room. I asked that our sons help with paying 1/2 our property taxes. Everything was done properly and I gave them receipts and as agreed upon. Since then I have helped them with emergency situations, such as our current covid 19 lay offs. They always try to pay me back and usually do, but I give it expecting noting in return. No, I am not wealthy but I do trust God to provide my needs.
  7. Peanut butter is used to hide all sorts of devious ploys, including my dogs' pills. No wonder mice and men are not aware if impending danger.
  8. May God open our eyes to His armies of angels that fight for us as well!.
  9. That is the first rational statement I have heard of him.
  10. No, the whole earth was not destroyed at that time. The key verse is UNTIL THE TIMES OF THE GENTILES BE FULFILLED.. We are still in the age of the Gentiles but it is drawing close to the end. We need to look up because our redemption is drawing near!
  11. My husband was the priest of our home.
  12. The UAE that I remember is a small country on the border of Arabia. Historically there has been a western presence there for generations in the form of a Christian hospital. This was a silent witness since it was illegal to share our faith there. However they were able to share with the Pakistanis who worked there. My former church supported a work there to computerize their records.
  13. I hope that I will see my family again. I believe they were believers. However, seeing Jesus should fill my heart and longings to overflowing. There will be no loneliness or longings because He is what my heart truly longs for. My mom's loving smile is from Him. My dads encouraging words were from God. My husband's love reflected that of our heavenly Father. So being in God's presence will fill all the loneliness and sorrow with overflowing joy. Although I expect to be among them I may not even notice them as we are swallowed up in God's glory.
  14. Portland has been a wide open city for several years now. Drugs are allowed and laws are not enforced. It is chaos. Our son lived in the area 20 years ago and it is not the same. We stay clear of it as well of the Seattle area. Both are a foretaste of what life will become under the Progressives.
  15. When I focus on not sinning I sin all the more. When I focus on Jesus I follow Him. Rom 8:6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
  16. This is a person who is so corrupted he has sold his soul to satan and has no desire to be saved. He has knowingly and sneering ascribed the beautiful works of God to satan. Sometimes only God knows who they truly are because some unbelievers have done this before coming to faith in God and repenting. They did this before coming to know how much Jesus loves them and suffered for them.
  17. My favorites are my two small dogs. Why? they are watching me to see how I will answer you....
  18. The Bible speaks of guardian angels doing God's bidding. Heb 1:13 And to which of the angels has he ever said, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet"? Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation? Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, Eph 6:15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. Eph 6:16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; Eph 6:17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, Eph 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, Eph 6:19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, Eph 6:20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. We are to intercede for others. I prayed for my husband's salvation day and night for 4 years. I begged through many tears, and the more I prayed the more God changed me! Meanwhile He changed and arranged circumstances so that my husband's customers, coworkers and managers also witnessed to Him. One day he came home and announced that he was outnumbered! lol. Slowly his heart was softened till one night when he was out of town he picked up a Gideon's Bible and started reading all night. He couldn't put it down. Then he chose to go to his boss's church having become acquainted with his pastor. God does answer prayer and work miracles. He went out into a wheat field one night and asked God to help him. He couldn't change himself and finally cried out to God. He was saved that night. It was all God's grace.
  19. It is a message that weighs heavily on our hearts because of our compassion for the people it is meant for.
  20. Listening to rock with bad language made me angry. It was really depressing. So I switched to Christian hard rock for a beat to exercise to and felt much better. The music wasn't as polished and professional sometimes but the lyrics were uplifting and built me up in my relationship with God.
  21. 88, We are to keep on being filled with the Holy Spirit, according to the Greek tense of the verb. That is wordy and not as poetic so King James didn't translate it as correctly as they could have. However, all you have to do is to humble yourself, draw near to God and He will draw near to you. He has promised to give you His Spirit and keep giving Him to you, as though He were an artesian well pouring forth rivers of Living Water. He wants that for you more than You do. Perhaps you are seeking an experience or a feeling but are not seeking the Living God. Seek God's face willing to do His will, whatever it may be. He gives us His Spirit to empower us to witness for Him and to be able to do His will.
  22. Are you relying on God to change you or are you trying to change in your own strength? You may be falling away from God's grace if the latter is true. To have faith in God is to depend on Him and rely on Him in all these things. We do make the decision. It is God Who puts it all into effect. He has changed your heart to desire to live in His Presence and in a manner that pleases Him. That entails learning to recognize His voice to follow Him. It is looking at the world through His compassionate eyes and lending a hand where we are able.
  23. The irony is that He is standing at the door and asking to come into His church. How many churches today don't welcome Jesus into their churches? Probably those who don't believe the Bible.
  24. The last I heard was that it was used in the burial of a person who had been crucified near the century that Christ had been crucified, but there is no way of knowing who it had been wrapped around. The chances of it being the Christ are one in many hundreds perhaps because of the number of crucifixions that took place in the decades following the birth of Christ.
  25. High fructose corn syrup is one of the worst things a diabetic can consume. Fructose is a simpler sugar than sucrose even, and the simpler it is the faster it enters our blood stream, which is what diabetics do NOT want. The more complicated the carb. the better it is for us because it breaks down and enters our systems more slowly. So high fiber carbs are better for us. We should be given pop instead of candy should we be hypoglycemic. Again, it enters our systems faster to counteract going into shock. So we must keep our blood sugar levels in the middle and fairly steady. Either extreme can be deadly for us. Both hyperglycemic and hypoglycemic is bad.
